High Order Riesz Transforms and Mean Value Formula for Generalized Translate Operator
In this paper, the mean value formula depends on the Bessel generalized shift
operator corresponding to the solutions of the boundary value problem related
to the Bessel operator are studied. In addition to, Riesz Bessel transforms
related to the Bessel operators are studied. Since Bessel generalized shift
operator is translation operator corresponding to the Bessel operator, we
construct a family of RBxj by using Bessel generalized shift operator. Finally,
we analysis weighted inequalities involving Riesz Bessel transforms
Distribution of some elements in Veronica scutellata L. from Bolu,Turkey: soil-plant interactions
Veronica scutellata L. occurs in moist and wet habitats, such as ponds, marshes and other wetlands. This study was conducted on this species to examine its mineral element uptake status in terms of interactions between soil and plant. Experimental materials were taken from the Southern coast of Black Sea at coordinates 40º36’N and 31º16’E at an altitude of 1400 m above sea level from Bolu – Turkey; using standard methods and plant (root, stem and leaf parts) and soil mineral element measurements (Al, B, Ca, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Na, Ni and Zn) were done. During the study, ICP-OES was employed for the measurement of mineral elements. It was observed that considerable amounts of B, Ca, K, Mg, Mn, Na and Zn are accumulated by the plant
Identification of genetic variation in the major histocompatibility complex gene region in Turkish sheep breeds
The major histocompatibility complex (MHC) in sheep, Ovar-Mhc, remains poorly characterized relative to other domestic animals. However, its basic structure is similar to that of other mammals, comprising class I, II and III regions. In this study, the Ovine MHC class II DRB1 and DRB3 genes were amplified by polymerase chain reaction in eight sheep breeds reared in Turkey. Informative restriction fragment length polymorphisms (RFLPs) were obtained with five restriction enzymes for DRB1 and with two restriction enzymes for DRB3. The digestion of DRB1 exon 2 with NciI, SacI, SacII, Hin1I each produced three genotypes and two alleles (viz., a and b) with frequencies of 0.69 and 0.31; 0.65 and 0.35; 0.91 and 0.09; 0.57 and 0.43, respectively. The digestion of DRB1 exon 2 with DdeI produced four genotypes and three alleles (viz., a, b and c) with frequencies of 0.62, 0.28 and 0.10, respectively. On the other hand, the digestion of DRB3 exon 2 with NdeII and BsaI each produced three genotypes and two alleles (viz., a and b) with frequencies of 0.72 and 0.28; 0.96 and 0.04, respectively. This study presents the genetic profiles of the exon 2 region of the MHC DRB1 and DRB3 genes in native Turkish sheep breeds. Keywords: DRB1, DRB3, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP
Application of different models to the lactation curves of unimproved Awassi ewes in Turkey
The objective of this study was to investigate the use of four different mathematical functions (Wood, Inverse Polynomial, Quadratic and Cubic models) for describing the lactation curve of unimproved Awassi ewes. Data were collected from 136 ewes from the same flock raised on the State Farm of Gözlü in the Konya Province of Turkey. The differences in estimated total milk yields between the models were not statistically significant. All models were adequate in describing total milk yield, though total milk yield estimated using the Cubic model was very close to total milk yield calculated by the Fleischmann method. Age effects on model parameters were not significant. The Inverse Polynomial model overestimated the peak yield significantly. Estimated peak yields of the Wood and Cubic model were similar while that obtained from the Quadratic model was significantly lower than that of the other models. Day of peak yield estimated by the models varied between 10.2 and 56.4 days. The differences between days of peak yield estimated using the different models were significant. R2 values of the models ranged from 0.724 to 0.977. The Cubic model gave the best R2 value. The lowest mean square prediction error was found using the Cubic model. Correlation coefficients between total milk yield calculated by the Fleischmann method and estimated total milk yield from the other models ranged from 0.933 to 0.998. The highest correlation coefficient was found for the Cubic model. As a result, the Cubic model showed the best fit to the data collected from unimproved Awassi ewes and allowed a suitable description of the shape of the lactation curve. Effects of Aflatoxin on Some Haematological Parameters and Protective Effectiveness of Esterified Glucomannan in Merino Rams
The objective of the present study was to evaluate the toxic effects of aflatoxin on some hematological parameters and to determine the preventive effectiveness of added glucomannan. In the study, 32 Merino rams were used, and the rams were separated equally to four groups as control (C), glucomannan (G), glucomannan + aflatoxin (AG), and aflatoxin (A). Erythrocyte, leukocyte count, hemoglobin, and hematocrit levels were decreased in A group compared with the other groups, and there was a reduction in similar parameters in AG group compared to control values. On the other hand, these parameters were tended to increase in AG group compared to A group values. Aflatoxicosis caused the lymphocytopenia and monocytopenia but increased percentage of neutrophil counts. In conclusion, the results determined in the study might be important to demonstrate the effects of aflatoxicosis and glucomannan on some haematological parameters before the clinical symptoms appear
A Jupiter-mass planet around the K0 giant HD 208897
For over 10 years, we have carried out a precise radial velocity (RV) survey
to find substellar companions around evolved G,K-type stars to extend our
knowledge of planet formation and evolution. We performed high precision RV
measurements for the giant star HD 208897 using an iodine (I2) absorption cell.
The measurements were made at T\"UB\.ITAK National Observatory (TUG, RTT150)
and Okayama Astrophysical Observatory (OAO). For the origin of the periodic
variation seen in the RV data of the star, we adopted a Keplerian motion caused
by an unseen companion. We found that the star hosts a planet with a minimum
mass of m2sini=1.40MJ, which is relatively low compared to those of known
planets orbiting evolved intermediate-mass stars. The planet is in a nearly
circular orbit with a period of P=353 days at about 1 AU distance from the host
star. The star is metal rich and located at the early phase of ascent along the
red giant branch. The photometric observations of the star at Ankara University
Kreiken Observatory (AUKR) and the HIPPARCOS photometry show no sign of
variation with periods associated with the RV variation. Neither bisector
velocity analysis nor analysis of the Ca II and Halpha lines shows any
correlation with the RV measurements
Pion wave functions from holographic QCD and the role of infrared renormalons in photon-photon collisions
In this article, we calculate the contribution of the higher-twist Feynman
diagrams to the large- inclusive single pion production cross section in
photon-photon collisions in case of the running coupling and frozen coupling
approaches within holographic QCD. We compare the resummed higher-twist cross
sections with the ones obtained in the framework of the frozen coupling
approach and leading-twist cross section. Also, we show that in the context of
frozen coupling approach a higher-twist contribution to the photon-photon
collisions cross section is normalized in terms of the pion electromagnetic
form factor.Comment: 21 pages, 15 figures. arXiv admin note: text overlap with

Universal behavior of localization of residue fluctuations in globular proteins
Localization properties of residue fluctuations in globular proteins are
studied theoretically by using the Gaussian network model. Participation ratio
for each residue fluctuation mode is calculated. It is found that the
relationship between participation ratio and frequency is similar for all
globular proteins, indicating a universal behavior in spite of their different
size, shape, and architecture.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures. To appear in Phys. Rev.

What tweets tell us about MOOC participation
In this research paper, the authors analyze the collected Twitter data output during MobiMOOC 2011. This six-week data stream includes all tweets that contain the MOOC's hashtag (#mobiMOOC) and it has been analyzed using qualitative methodology. The analysis sought to examine the emotive vocabulary used, to determine if there was content-sharing via tweets, and to analyze the folksonomic trends of the tweets. In Addition sought a deeper understanding of what, and how, MOOC participants share what they share on the MOOC's Twitter channel. The aim of this study is to provide a little more insight into MOOC learner behaviors on Twitter so that future MOOC designers and facilitators can better engage with their learners.Facultad de Ciencias Exacta
