    Calphad Modelling of Ceramic Systems

    Get PDF
Thermodynamic modeling based on the CALPHAD approach is a powerful tool for understanding the behavior and designing materials with optimized properties. This method relies on the availability of relevant Gibbs energy functions. The present work is concerned with developing the Gibbs energy functions for Si-Zr-N and Ti-Zr-N systems. The outcome of implementing such an approach is a set of internally consistent Gibbs energy functions for various phases. These functions are used to build Gibbs energy databases for multicomponent systems that are accessed by Gibbs energy minimization software to compute phase diagrams and thermochemical properties. They can be used to compute the thermochemical and constitutional information that would help in understanding the behavior of these materials and optimizing their compositions for different applications

    Synthesis and Antimicrobial Activity of 2-(Aminoacid ester)-3-(6-methyl-2-pyridyl)-3,4-dihydro-2H-1,3,2 λ5- benzoxazaphosphinin-2-thiones

Synthesis of 2-(aminoacid ester)-3-(6-methyl-2-pyridyl)-3,4-dihydro-2H-1,3,2λ5-benzoxazaphosphinin-2-thiones (3a–j) was accomplished through a two-step process. It involves the prior preparation of 2-chloro-3-(6-methyl-2-pyridyl)-3,4-dihydro-2H-1,3,2λ5-benzoxazaphosphinin-2-thione monochloride (2) and its subsequent reaction with the aminoacid ester hydrochlorides in dry tetrahydrofuran-toluene in the presence of triethylamine at various temperatures. These compounds were characterizedby IR, 1H, 13C, 31P NMR and mass spectral data.Keywords: 2-[(6-methyl-2-pyridyl) amino] methylphenol, 1,3,2-benzoxazaphosphinin-2-thione, antimicrobial activit

Clinical isolates of Anantapuramu for the protein E isolation of the dengue virus

    Get PDF
In theclinical samples from the state of Anantapuramu, the dengue virus serotype 2 protein E gene was found. It was established that the protein E gene was present in the models by using RT-PCR and cellular isolates. There has been one new sub strain discovered that are akin to the hermits described in previous investigations. An investigation of the epidemiology of the isolated strain was conducted using a phylogenetic analysis of the strain

Ameloblastic Fibroodontoma: Uncommon Case Presentation in a 6-Year-Old Child with Review of the Literature

Ameloblastic fibroodontoma is a benign mixed odontogenic neoplasm considered in patients with asymptomatic swelling and unerupted teeth that exhibit histologic features between ameloblastic fibroma and complex odontoma. Radiographically, this lesion appears as radiolucency admixed with focal radio opaque masses of irregular shapes and sizes. This lesion is confirmed by the presence of proliferating odontogenic epithelium, ectomesenchyme, and dental hard tissue formation on pathological analysis supplementing clinical and radiographic findings. As this tumour is less commonly seen in routine clinical practice, ameloblastic fibroodontoma with detailed orofacial features and periodic approach to its diagnosis is discussed. This paper reports a case of ameloblastic fibroodontoma of the mandible in a 6-year-old male patient with an uncommon case presentation and review of the literature
