Organic Farming Development and Agricultural Institutions in Europe: A Study of Six Countries
Cooperation between general agricultural institutions and the organisation of the organic farming sector are key factors for the development of organic farming. This study analyses the relationships of organic farming organisations with other farmers' organisations, agencies of agricultural policy and food market firms in six European countries. On this basis it identifies a path for successful development of organic farming which is adaptable to the special conditions of all European countries.
This book presents the most systematic and in-depth comparison of the dynamics of organic farming development to date, providing concrete suggestions for a line of action for everyone with an interest in developing organic farming
The key aspects of innovation-oriented regional industrial and economic policy
Integration processes taking place in the economy, the new requirements to enhance the effectiveness of production during international competition as well as the need to ensure the social conditions lead to the development and implementation of innovation-oriented regional industrial and economic policy, which in its turn, requires adopting substantial organizational and economic recommendations

EVALUATING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF CONSERVATION WATER-PRICING PROGRAMS
Charging farmers increasing block prices for irrigation deliveries is advocated as a means of encouraging agricultural water conservation in the West. We formulated a model of a hypothetical irrigated river basin to investigate the hyrdro-economic circumstances in which such pricing leads to water conservation. Our results indicate that increasing delivery prices may encourage irrigators to make adjustments with countervailing impacts on consumptive water use and conservation. Whether these countervailing impacts combine to conserve water or increase its consumptive use must be resolved empirically. An alternative resolution of this ambiguity is to assess water prices in terms of consumptive use.Resource /Energy Economics and Policy,
Transient extreme ultraviolet measurement of element-specific charge transfer dynamics in multiple-material junctions
The absorption of solid state materials in complex photonic and optoelectronic devices overlap in the visible spectrum. Due to the overlap of spectral features, ultrafast measurements of charge carrier dynamics and transport is obscured. Here, the element specificity of transient extreme ultraviolet (XUV) spectroscopy is advanced as a probe for studying photoexcited charge transport in multiple-material junctions. The core-hole excited by the XUV transitions also imparts structural information on to the probed electronic transition. Transient XUV can therefore measure electron and averaged phonon dynamics for each elemental species in a junction. Application to polaron measurement in α-Fe_2O_3, valley-specific scattering in Si, and charge transfer in a nanoscale Ni-TiO_2-Si junction will be discussed
Deposit Accounts Under the New World Order
The new world is upon us. Repent. Revised Article 9 is the law in every state. Commercial deposit accounts are now available as original collateral. Bringing commercial deposit accounts into the Article 9 fold significantly complicates the planning of an Article 9 secured transaction. Attorneys for banks, non-bank creditors and debtors need to understand the new world order and the risks it poses to their clients. They need to develop strategies to minimize those risks so as to protect their clients\u27 positions. Part II of this article describes the new legal framework and some of the risks it creates. Part III explores ways to manage those risks. Appendix A contains an annotated deposit account control agreement form that tries to balance the needs of a secured party holding a security interest in a deposit account with the rights of the bank maintaining the deposit account
