    The Effects Glycine max L. Merr on Lipid Peroxidation and Kidney’s Histopathology In Lead Intoxication Mice

    Intoxication of lead (Pb) causes the formation of free radicals that affect the antioxidative defense system, thus speeding up cell damage. Soybean (Glycine max L. Merr) Ijen is one of the varieties of food containing phenolic compounds and flavonoids, which have antioxidant activity. Experimental animals used in this study were the Mus muscullus Balb / c as much as 25 tails, they were divided into 5 groups: placebo, negative control, positive control, test and comparison groups. The negative control, test and comparison group were given Pb at a dose of 25 mg / kg orally for 7 days. After the stages of intoxication, positive control and test groups were given suspensions extract of soybean Ijen varieties at a dose of 1g/ 1 ml for 7 days, the comparison group was given a suspension of vitamin C supplementation at a dose of 64 mg / kg orally for 7 days, and the negative control group were given mucilago CMC Na 0,5% of 1 ml for 7 days. Liver tissue of mice were used to analyze the activity of the catalase enzyme and malondialdehyde (MDA) level. Kidney’s tissues were used for histopathological examination. Extract of soybean (Glycine max L.Merr) Ijen varieties decreases the activity of the enzyme catalase and repair damaged Kidneycells of mice that lead intoxication as effective as vitamin C.     Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) have digestive disorders, therefore their diet should be gluten-free and casein-free. Gluten-free and casein-free foods tend to be low in protein. ASD children who apply a gluten-free diet and casein have a lower calcium intake and low in bone density. Catfish flour with high protein and calcium content were expected to increase the nutritional value (protein and calcium) of cookies which gluten-free and casein-free. This study was aimed to determine the effect of catfish flour substitution towards acceptance and nutritional value of gluten and casein free cookies as an alternative snack for ASD children. This study was experimental research with Completely Randomized Design. Panelists of this study were children with ASD (4-6 years) and their parents as many as 40 people. There were 4 formulas in this study, F0 was control, and 3 substitution formulas. Percentage of Flour substitution were, F2 (2%: 2%); F3 (4%: 4%); and F5 (6%: 4%). Kruskal Wallis test showed no significant difference in the level on acceptance level in taste and aroma between F0, F3, and F5. The acceptability and nutritional value's ranking showed the best formula was F5. 100 grams of F5 cookies (protein: 6.75 g; calcium: 247.51 mg) can fulfill 19% of the protein and 24.8% calcium of children RDA (4-6 years). Gluten-free and casein-free cookies with catfish (Formula 5) with enough protein and high calcium can be an alternative snack for ASD children

    Background : Soybean is one of the food-producing natural antioxidants.This study was to identify the antioxidant compounds from methanol extract of black soybean (Glycine max L. Merr) Detam I and II varieties. Method : The extract of black soybean was defatted using. n-hexane and the pulp was further extracted using 90% methanol. Qualitative analysis was performed using TLC and GC-MS with total time of analysis 20 and 80 minutes. TLC data exhibited that methanol extract of black soybean (Glycine max L.Merr) Detam II also contained flavonoids but its GC1.MSk.profile showed undetectable flavonoids Results : There were detected the presence of _ flavonoids 3 , 4',5,7-0H, 3-0 araglucoside and hexadecanoic acid, methyl ester; pentadecanoic acid, 14-methyl, mettyl ester; 9,12-0ctadecadienoic acid (Z, Z) - methyl ester and methyl 10-trans, 12-cis-octadecadienoate.     Soybean is known to be the best source of isoflavone and antioxidant. Black soybean var. Detam II is proven to decrease the lead level in lead intoxicated mice, so that the antioxidant of black soybean var. Detam II extract is held. Defatted black soybean was extracted with methanol, hydrolyzed with HCl, then extracted with diethylether. The diethylether in the extract was evaporated until constant weight, then flavonoid was identificated by TLC and the active substances was analysed by GC-MS . The TLC result showed three unidentified flavonoids and the result by GC-MS showed Hexadecanoic acid, methyl ester, and Hexadecanoic acid, ethyl ester which three act as antioxidant.     Lead intoxication into the body to produce free radical compounds. Kidney is one of the excretory organs that are susceptible to free radical attack. Detam II variety of soybean is a type of superior soybean varieties in Indonesia containing isoflavones, allegedly useful to reduce the accumulation of lead in the body and protect the kidneys. The aim this study was determined the effect extract soyabean of Detam II variety obtained by maceration kinetic using 90% methanol solvent on kidney's histopathology and lead level in mice blood The study was randomized pretest post test control group design. Animals model were 30 mice divided into 6 groups, placebo, negative control (lead only), positive control (soybean extract only), test group (soybean Detam II variety) and gold standard group (lead + Vit C). All groups were exposed with acetate lead at a dose of25 mg/kg BW/day except the placebo group and positive controls. The process of intoxication was continued by giving Detam II variety of soybean extract at doses of 75 mg/kg BW in positive control group and test group. In the gold standard group was given vitamin C dose of 64 mg/kg BW/day and aquadem in the placebo group for seven days. The results were appreciated by extract Glycine max (L.) Merr. of Detam II variety on blood lead levels and effectively to repair kidney's histopathology. Conclusion: Extract Glycine max L. Merr. of Detam II variety has lowering lead levels in blood and effectively to repair kidney's histopathology

    Efek Glycine max Varietas Anjasmoro terhadap Kadar Timbal dan Malondialdehid pada Mencit Terintoksikasi Timbal

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian Glycine max varietas Anjasmoro pada mencit yang terintoksikasi timbal (Pb) dengan mengukur kadar Pb darah dan kadar Malondialdehid (MDA) pada hepar dan ginjal mencit (Mus musculus) strain BALB/C dengan menggunakan metode Thiobarbituric Acid Reactive Substance (TBARS) assay. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan 20 ekor mencit strain BALB/C yang dibagi secara acak kedalam empat kelompok masing-masing lima ekor yaitu kelompok kontrol negatif, kontrol positif, uji, dan pembanding. Semua kelompok diintoksikasi dengan Pb 25 mg/kg BB kecuali kontrol positif selama tujuh hari. Kemudian dilanjutkan selama tujuh hari dengan pemberian ekstrak kedelai 1 gram pada kontrol positif dan uji serta vitamin C 64 mg/kg BB pada kelompok pembanding. Dari penelitian yang dilakukan diperoleh basil bahwa ekstrak Glycine max varietas Anjasmoro yang diberikan dapat menurunkan kadar Pb dalam darah secara signifikan dan juga dapat menurunkan kadar MDA dalam hepar dan ginjal walaupun hasilnya tidak signifikan

    Permasalahan sosial yang banyak terjadi di masyarakat adalah kaum marjinal yang terpinggirkan seperti anak terlantar, anak jalanan, pengemis, dan sebagainya. Salah satu upaya mengatasi masalah kaum marjinal yaitu dengan didirikan lembaga sosial berupa panti asuhan anak. Sejak masa pandemi, anak di Panti Asuhan Misi Nusantara Surakarta jarang mendapat layanan kesehatan dan ada keterbatasan ruang gerak anak-anak. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini untuk membantu panti asuhan dalam memantau pertumbuhan dan perkembangan penghuni dan pengelola Panti Asuhan Misi Nusantara di Surakarta. Metoda pelaksanaan berupa pemeriksaan tumbuh kembang anak, Penyuluhan Hidup Bersih dan Sehat, pemeriksaan Status Gizi Anak, penyuluhan cara menyikat gigi yang benar, pemeriksaan kesehatan pengelola panti asuhan serta pelatihan penanggulangan bencana. Hasil pemeriksaan Kesehatan pada penghuni dan pengelola panti didapatkan sebagian besar (52,6%) penghuni panti berjenis kelamin laki-laki, hampir setengahnya berusia rata-rata 21-60 tahun, Sebagian besar (68,4%) tekanan darah &lt;140/90 mmHg, Sebagian besar (73,1%) berstatus gizi normal, hampir seluruhnya (94,4%) glukosa darah &lt;126 m/dL dan asam urat &lt;8 mg/dL. Secara umum keadaan warga panti asuhan dalam keadaan baik Social problems that often occur in society are abandoned children, street children, beggars, disabled people, neglected elderly, poor families, families with social problems, and so on. Children and poor people should have their human rights fulfilled by the State of Indonesia. However, in reality there are many children whose needs are not met, such as parents who are unable to provide for the child's needs or the child does not have parents. One effort to overcome this is to establish social institutions in the form of orphanages. Since the pandemic, children at the Mission Nusantara Surakarta Orphanage rarely receive health services and there is limited space for children to move. The purpose of this community service is to assist the orphanage in monitoring the growth and development of residents and managers of the Mission Nusantara Orphanage in Surakarta. The implementation method is in the form of examinations on child growth and development, Counseling on Clean and Healthy Living, checking on the Nutritional Status of Children, counseling on how to brush their teeth properly, health checks for orphanage managers and training on disaster management. 6%) of the residents of the orphanage are male, almost half of them are aged 21-60 years, most (68.4%) have blood pressure &lt; 140/90 mmHg, most (73.1%) have normal nutritional status, almost all (94.4%) blood glucose &lt; 126 m/dL and uric acid &gt; 8 mg/dl.
