Spanish fisheries information in Corner Rise Seamount Complex (NAFO Divisions 6GH).
The Corner Rise Seamount complex is located in a small area of the NAFO Subarea 6 (34º- 37º N, 47º - 53º W). The
aim of this paper is to review and present the Spanish fisheries information available in this area between 2005 and
March 2007.
Results show that Kükenthal peak, in particular and western Corner Rise part in general seem to have more species
diversity and more fishing yield than the other Corner Rise parts. The most important species in the catches were
Beryx splendens, Aphanopus carbo and polyprion americanus.
Beryx splendens catches length range was 27 – 41 cm in 2007. Males were more abundant for sizes less than 33 cm.
while females were more abundant for bigger sizes
Simulation of 3d Ising spin glass model using three replicas: study of Binder cumulants
We have carried out numerical simulations of the three-dimensional Ising spin
glass model with first neighbour Gaussian couplings using three replicas for
each sample of couplings. We have paid special attention to the measure of two
types of Binder cumulant that can be constructed from the three possible
overlaps between the replicas. We obtain new information about the possible
phase transition and perform an initial analysis of the ultrametricity issue.Comment: 14 pages and 7 figures, available at

Study of the phase transition in the 3d Ising spin glass from out of equilibrium numerical simulations
Using the decay of the out equilibrium spin-spin correlation function we
compute the equilibrium Edward-Anderson order parameter in the three
dimensional binary Ising spin glass in the spin glass phase. We have checked
that the Edward-Anderson order parameter computed from out of equilibrium
numerical simulations follows with good precision the critical law as
determined in experiments and in numerical studies at equilibrium. We have also
studied the dependence of the order parameter with the lattice size. Finally we
present a large time study of the scaling of the off-equilibrium
fluctuation-dissipation relations.Comment: 14 pages, 7 Postscript figure
The earliest evidence of true lambdoid craniosynostosis: the case of “Benjamina”, a Homo heidelbergensis child
Background The authors report the morphological and
neuroimaging findings of an immature human fossil
(Cranium 14) diagnosed with left lambdoid synostosis.
Discussion The skull was recovered at the Sima de los
Huesos site in Atapuerca (Burgos, Spain). Since the human
fossil remains from this site have been dated to a minimum
age of 530,000 years, this skull represents the earliest
evidence of craniosynostosis occurring in a hominid. A
brief historical review of craniosynostosis and cranial
deformation is provided
Griffiths singularities in the two dimensional diluted Ising model
We study numerically the probability distribution of the Yang-Lee zeroes
inside the Griffiths phase for the two dimensional site diluted Ising model and
we check that the shape of this distribution is that predicted in previous
analytical works. By studying the finite size scaling of the averaged smallest
zero at the phase transition we extract, for two values of the dilution, the
anomalous dimension, , which agrees very well with the previous estimated
values.Comment: 11 pages and 4 figures, some minor changes in Fig. 4, available at

The judgment discussed in this paper deals with the scope of tacit prorogation of jurisdiction in the light of Article 47 of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights in a case where prorogation is due to acts of a Court-appointed representative and the defendant has not been notified. Moreover, the judgment had to consider the relationship between constitutional rules and the primacy of EU principle in relation with the procedure of constitutional review of legal rules and the regime of preliminary ruling itself
Violation of the Fluctuation Dissipation Theorem in Finite Dimensional Spin Glasses
We study the violation of the fluctuation-dissipation theorem in the three
and four dimensional Gaussian Ising spin glasses using on and off equilibrium
simulations. We have characterized numerically the function X(C) that determine
the violation and we have studied its scaling properties. Moreover we have
computed the function x(C) which characterize the breaking of the replica
symmetry directly from equilibrium simulations. The two functions are
numerically equal and in this way we have established that the conjectured
connection between the violation of fluctuation dissipation theorem in the
off-equilibrium dynamics and the replica symmetry breaking at equilibrium holds
for finite dimensional spin glasses. These results point to a spin glass phase
with spontaneously broken replica symmetry in finite dimensional spin glasses.Comment: 13 pages, 4 figures, also available at
