    Post-Merger Appraisal of Stress Level among Bank Employees: A Case Study

    Mergers and Acquisitions (M&As) is one of the most accepted inorganic strategic tool in the hands of decision makers. Though, it is a major decision as it requires huge investments but it propels the wings of growth instantaneously and such investment decisions are largely based on financial aspects of business. It brings growth as well as unavoidable challenges for Transferor and transferee Company. Such challenges may include work culture related factors and psychological factors, which directly affect the work force of the transformer company as it is observed in case of ICICI Bank and the Bank of Rajasthan Ltd. BoR amalgamation when all the bank employees of BoR agitated. Therefore, the aim of this research paper is to identify the most prominent factors (merger stressors) which affect the stress level of bank employees during post merger. The factors are divided into two heads i.e. work culture related factors and psychological factors which covers total 13 and 11 factors respectively. For this purpose, a large sample of 60 BoR bank employees has been drawn from Udaipur city and the factor analysis has been performed. We found that cultural fit and HR policy framework are two prominent factors for high level of stress and dissatisfaction among bank employees. This study is a small contribution for the betterment of the bank employees and provides guidelines for bank policy makers, strategists, scholars and researchers

    Multicore processors are replacing most of the single core processors nowadays. Current trends show that there will be increasing numbers of cores on a single chip in the coming future. However, programming multicore processors remains bug prone and less productive. Thus, making use of a runtime to schedule tasks on multicore processor hides most of the complexities of parallel programming to improve productivity. QUARK is one of the runtimes available for the multicore processors. This work looks at identifying and solving performance bottlenecks for QUARK on the shared memory architecture. The problem of finding bottlenecks is divided into two parts, low level details and high level details. Low level details deal with issues like length of the critical section and locking mechanisms. High level details involve use of a suitable scheduling algorithm and better load balancing. We discuss the possible solutions of the bottlenecks and its impact on the overall performance

    Evaluation of Acute Toxicity of Some Medicinal Plants and their Combination in Albino Mice

    Medicinal plants find use across different cultures in the world. People have derived numerous benefits by using various plants for centuries. Herbal drugs are supposed to be safe, but there are chances these might cause toxicity and other complications. Thus toxicity studies are essential for a medicinal plant before being used in humans. The present research revolves around studying the acute toxicity of Ocimum kilimandscharicum, Thymus serpyllum, Spilanthes acmella and their combination in equal ratio (COMB). For preparing the combination of extracts, the ethanolic extracts of the three plants were combined in equal amounts and administered to the animals. The acute toxicity study was carried out according to OECD (The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) guideline 423 for acute toxicity. The animals were divided into four groups each containing three animals each. These groups were respectively administered ethanolic extract of O. kilimandscharicum, T. serpyllum, S. acmella and COMB in a dose of 2000 mg/kg. The animals were observed for signs of toxicity and mortality at durations specified by OECD. The results demonstrated that extracts of the three medicinal plants used in the study and their combination were found to be safe up to 2000 mg/kg

To conduct a study on optimisation techniques & procedures that assist us in optimising low energy consumption & evaluating multiple parameters in order to obtain the desired output is the primary purpose of this research. Energy-Conscious Multisite Computation Offloading Techniques (EMOGC) for Green Cloud Computing is the methodology that was utilised throughout this project. Simulation & analysis are presented in The Energy-Conscious Multisite Computation Offloading Techniques for Green Cloud Computing in order to investigate time-efficient scheduling on multisite, which is responsible for optimising energy, time, & cost at the optimum time. This strategy seeks to finish the application within the allotted amount of time while also consuming as little power as feasible from the connected devices. According to the findings of this research, it is clear that the explored technique is effective in obtaining high throughput (HT) while simultaneously minimising the execution time, which in turn enhances the data rate in Green Cloud Computing (GCC)

    Information visibility and its effect on supply chain dynamics

In this thesis, we present a novel framework for improving the visibility of information in supply chains by reducing the delays in information flow. We first analyze the growth and evolution of production and operations management software over the past three decades, and the current trends in their development, coupled with recent advances in radio frequency technology, wireless communications, data representation methods, and the internet. Information visibility is identified as one of the key elements for successful implementation of any such software. We analyze the dynamics of a supply chain under different scenarios of information visibility and forecasting decisions with the help of simulations. Possible improvements in supply chain costs are identified, provided information visibility.     Unification-Based Tree Adjoining Grammars

    Many current grammar formalisms used in computational linguistics take a unification-based approach that use structures (called feature structures) containing sets of feature-value pairs. In this paper, we describe a unification-based approach to Tree Adjoining Grammars (TAG). The resulting formalism (UTAG) retains the principle of factoring dependencies and recursion that is fundamental to TAGs. We also extend the definition of UTAG to include the lexicalized approach to TAGs (see [Schabes et al., 1988]). We give some linguistic examples using UTAG and informally discuss the descriptive capacity of UTAG, comparing it with other unificationbased formalisms. Finally, based on the linguistic theory underlying TAGs, we propose some stipulations that can be placed on UTAG grammars. In particular, we stipulate that the feature structures associated with the nodes in an elementary tree are bounded ( there is an analogous stipulation in GPSG). Grammars that satisfy these stipulations are equivalent to TAG. Thus, even with these stipulations, UTAGs have more power than CFG-based unification grammars with the same stipulations

    Feature Structures Based Tree Adjoining Grammars

    We have embedded Tree Adjoining Grammars (TAG) in a feature structure based unification system. The resulting system, Feature Structure based Tree Adjoining Grammars (FTAG), captures the principle of factoring dependencies and recursion, fundamental to TAG\u27s. We show that FTAG has an enhanced descriptive capacity compared to TAG formalism. We consider some restricted versions of this system and some possible linguistic stipulations that can be made. We briefly describe a calculus to represent the structures used by this system, extending on the work of Rounds, and Kasper [Rounds et al. 1986, Kasper et al. 1986)involving the logical formulation of feature structures
