"It's the real thing": performance and murder in Sweden.
The article investigates contemporary experimental theatre in Sweden. It sums up and probes the implications of Sju tre (1999), the most controversial theatre production in Sweden in modern times. Lars Nor'n, the playwright and director, staged a dialogue involving three real convicts, of whom two were outspoken Nazis. The article explores the uncertain boundaries between aesthetic, ethical, and political issues with ramifications regarding the wider public opinion in Sweden, on racism and crime. It is methodologically motivated by reception research, performativity and idealogical discourse. By virtue of its performative impact, the theatrical event proved to be directly linked with critical questions of democracy, although conceivably at the expense of the artistic integrity of the director and the theatre as creator of public opinion. The article points to a paradox of democracy whereby hate speech is at once allowed and unjustified in the theatre as national arena. The actors are described and analysed as parasites in a societal body, that in Sju tre, becomes politically epitomised
High-growth firms: introduction to the special section
High-growth firms (HGFs) have attracted considerable attention recently, as academics and policymakers have increasingly recognized the highly skewed nature of many metrics of firm performance. A small number of HGFs drives a disproportionately large amount of job creation, while the average firm has a limited impact on the economy. This article explores the reasons for this increased interest, summarizes the existing literature, and highlights the methodological considerations that constrain and bias research. This special section draws attention to the importance of HGFs for future industrial performance, explores their unusual growth trajectories and strategies, and highlights the lack of persistence of high growth. Consequently, while HGFs are important for understanding the economy and developing public policy, they are unlikely to be useful vehicles for public policy given the difficulties involved in predicting which firms will grow, the lack of persistence in high growth levels, and the complex and often indirect relationship between firm capability, high growth, and macro-economic performance
Liquid-liquid interfacial tension of electrolyte solutions
It is theoretically shown that the excess liquid-liquid interfacial tension
between two electrolyte solutions as a function of the ionic strength I behaves
asymptotically as O(- I^0.5) for small I and as O(+- I) for large I. The former
regime is dominated by the electrostatic potential due to an unequal
partitioning of ions between the two liquids whereas the latter regime is
related to a finite interfacial thickness. The crossover between the two
asymptotic regimes depends sensitively on material parameters suggesting that,
depending on the actual system under investigation, the experimentally
accessible range of ionic strengths can correspond to either the small or the
large ionic strength regime. In the limiting case of a liquid-gas surface where
ion partitioning is absent, the image chage interaction can dominate the
surface tension for small ionic strength I such that an Onsager-Samaras
limiting law O(- I ln(I)) is expected. The proposed picture is consistent with

Multiple Loop Self-Triggered Model Predictive Control for Network Scheduling and Control
We present an algorithm for controlling and scheduling multiple linear
time-invariant processes on a shared bandwidth limited communication network
using adaptive sampling intervals. The controller is centralized and computes
at every sampling instant not only the new control command for a process, but
also decides the time interval to wait until taking the next sample. The
approach relies on model predictive control ideas, where the cost function
penalizes the state and control effort as well as the time interval until the
next sample is taken. The latter is introduced in order to generate an adaptive
sampling scheme for the overall system such that the sampling time increases as
the norm of the system state goes to zero. The paper presents a method for
synthesizing such a predictive controller and gives explicit sufficient
conditions for when it is stabilizing. Further explicit conditions are given
which guarantee conflict free transmissions on the network. It is shown that
the optimization problem may be solved off-line and that the controller can be
implemented as a lookup table of state feedback gains. Simulation studies which
compare the proposed algorithm to periodic sampling illustrate potential

Internally Electrodynamic Particle Model: Its Experimental Basis and Its Predictions
The internally electrodynamic (IED) particle model was derived based on
overall experimental observations, with the IED process itself being built
directly on three experimental facts, a) electric charges present with all
material particles, b) an accelerated charge generates electromagnetic waves
according to Maxwell's equations and Planck energy equation and c) source
motion produces Doppler effect. A set of well-known basic particle equations
and properties become predictable based on first principles solutions for the
IED process; several key solutions achieved are outlined, including the de
Broglie phase wave, de Broglie relations, Schr\"odinger equation, mass,
Einstein mass-energy relation, Newton's law of gravity, single particle self
interference, and electromagnetic radiation and absorption; these equations and
properties have long been broadly experimentally validated or demonstrated. A
specific solution also predicts the Doebner-Goldin equation which emerges to
represent a form of long-sought quantum wave equation including gravity. A
critical review of the key experiments is given which suggests that the IED
process underlies the basic particle equations and properties not just

Optimal Topological Test for Degeneracies of Real Hamiltonians
We consider adiabatic transport of eigenstates of real Hamiltonians around
loops in parameter space. It is demonstrated that loops that map to nontrivial
loops in the space of eigenbases must encircle degeneracies. Examples from
Jahn-Teller theory are presented to illustrate the test. We show furthermore
