Service Failure Complaints Identification in Social Media: A Text Classification Approach

    Get PDF
The emergence of social media has brought up plenty of platforms where dissatisfied customers can share their service encounter experiences. Those customers’ feedbacks have been widely recognized as valuable information sources for improving service quality. Due to the sparse distribution of customer complaints and diversity of topics related to non-complaints in social media, manually identifying complaints is time-consuming and inefficient. In this study, a supervised learning approach including samples enlargement and classifiers construct was proposed. Applying small labeled samples as training samples, reliable complaints samples and non-complaints samples were identified from the unlabeled dataset during the sample enlargement process. Combining the enlarged samples and the labeled samples, SVM and KNN algorithms were employed to construct the classifier. Empirical results show that the proposed approach can efficiently distinguish complaints from non-complaints in social media, especially when the number of labeled samples is very small

Quantitative determination and pharmacokinetics of salvianolic acid l, a novel phenolic acid constituent from salvia miltiorrhiza, in rat plasma by high-performance liquid chromatography

A simple, rapid and selective HPLC method was developed for the determination of a novel phenolic acid constituent in rat plasma, salvianolic acid L (SAL), extracted from the dried root of Salvia miltiorrhiza (Danshen). Plasma samples were extracted by ethyl acetate after addition of the internal standard tinidazole. The appropriate separations were achieved using a C18 column with the mobile phase composed of a mixture of acetonitrile/water/formic acid (35:65:0.1, v/v/v) at the flow rate of 0.8 mL/min, and the wavelength of determination by diode-array detector (DAD) detection was 327 nm. Good linearity (r = 0.9996) was obtained within the concentration of 0.05-50 μg/mL. The intra- and inter-day assay precisions ranged from 0.60 to 5.91% and 3.52 to 7.00%, respectively. The accuracy was between 95.8 to 103.8%. In addition, the stability and extraction recovery involved in the method were also validated. This method was successfully applied to investigate the pharmacokinetic study of SAL in rats after a single intravenous administration dose of 2.0, 4.0, and 8.0 mg/kg, respectively.Colegio de Farmacéuticos de la Provincia de Buenos Aire

The aim of this article is to study the changes inhibited T lymphocytes and cytokines related to the cellular immunity in ICR (imprinting control region) mice fed with Fe3O4 magnetic nanoparticles (Fe3O4-MNPs). The Fe3O4-MNPs were synthesized, and their characteristics such as particle size, zeta potential, and X-ray diffraction patterns were measured and determined. All ICR mice were sacrificed after being exposed to 0, 300, 600, and 1200 mg/kg of Fe3O4-MNPs by single gastric administration for 14 days. Splenocytes proliferation was indicated with stimulate index by MTT assay; release of cytokines in the serum of ICR mice was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and the phenotypic analyses of T-lymphocyte subsets were performed using flow cytometry. Our results indicated that there were no significant differences in splenocyte proliferation and release of cytokines between exposed and control groups. Furthermore, there was no significant difference in the proportions of T-lymphocyte subsets in the low-dose Fe3O4-MNPs group when compared to the control group, but the proportions of CD3+CD4+ and CD3+CD8+ T-lymphocyte subsets both in the medium- and high-dose Fe3O4-MNPs groups were higher than those in the control group. It is concluded that a high dose of Fe3O4-MNPs, to some extent, could influence in vivo immune function of normal ICR mice

Low temperature, mechanical wound, and exogenous salicylic acid (SA) can stimulate the SA signaling molecule as well as its downstream pathway and the formation of fruiting bodies in Flammulina filiformis

Low temperature (LT) and mechanical wound (MW), as two common physics methods, have been empirically used in production to stimulate the primordia formation of Flammulina filiformis, which is typically produced using the industrial production mode. However, the detailed effect on the fruiting body formation and important endogenous hormones and signaling pathways in this process is poorly understood. In this study, LT, MW, their combination, i.e., MW + LT, and low concentration of SA (0.1 mM SA) treatments were applied to the physiologically mature mycelia of F. filiformis. The results showed that the primordia under the four treatments began to appear on the 5th−6th days compared with the 12th day in the control (no treatment). The MW + LT treatment produced the largest number of primordia (1,859 per bottle), followed by MW (757), SA (141), and LT (22), compared with 47 per bottle in the control. The HPLC results showed that the average contents of endogenous SA were significantly increased by 1.3 to 2.6 times under four treatments. A total of 11 SA signaling genes were identified in the F. filiformis genome, including 4 NPR genes (FfNpr1-4), 5 TGA genes (FfTga1-5), and 2 PR genes (FfPr1-2). FfNpr3 with complete conserved domains (ANK and BTB/POZ) showed significantly upregulated expression under all four above treatments, while FfNpr1/2/4 with one domain showed significantly upregulated response expression under the partial treatment of all four treatments. FfTga1-5 and FfPr1-2 showed 1.6-fold to 8.5-fold significant upregulation with varying degrees in response to four treatments. The results suggested that there was a correlation between “low temperature/mechanical wound—SA signal—fruiting body formation”, and it will help researchers to understand the role of SA hormone and SA signaling pathway genes in the formation of fruiting bodies in fungi
