    Selective Combining for Hybrid Cooperative Networks

    In this study, we consider the selective combining in hybrid cooperative networks (SCHCNs scheme) with one source node, one destination node and NN relay nodes. In the SCHCN scheme, each relay first adaptively chooses between amplify-and-forward protocol and decode-and-forward protocol on a per frame basis by examining the error-detecting code result, and NcN_c (1NcN1\leq N_c \leq N) relays will be selected to forward their received signals to the destination. We first develop a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) threshold-based frame error rate (FER) approximation model. Then, the theoretical FER expressions for the SCHCN scheme are derived by utilizing the proposed SNR threshold-based FER approximation model.     APPLICATION OF ASCORBIC ACID 2-PHOSPHATE AS A NEW VOLTAMMETRIC SUBSTRATE FOR ALKALINE PHOSPHATASE DETERMINATION IN HUMAN SERUM

    An electrochemical assay of the enzyme alkaline phosphatase (ALP) using ascorbic acid 2-phosphate (AAP) as a new voltammetric substrate has been described in this paper. In the alkaline buffer solution the ALP enzymatic hydrolysis product of AAP was ascorbic acid (AA), which was an electro-active substance and had a sensitive differential pulse voltammetric (DPV) oxidative response on glassy carbon electrode (GCE) at +380 mV (versus Ag/AgCl), so the activity of ALP could be monitored voltammetrically of the oxidative peak current of AA. The electrochemical behaviours of AA were carefully studied and the AA standard solution could be measured by DPV method in the linear range from 10.0 to 1000.0 μmol/L with the detection limit of 8.0 μmol/L. The optimal conditions for ALP enzymatic reaction and the voltammetric detection were optimized. Under the optimal conditions the calibration curve for ALP assay exhibited a linear range from 0.4 to 2000.0 U/L with a detection limit of 0.3 U/L. This proposed method was further applied to determine the ALP content in healthy human serum and the results were in good agreement with the traditional p-nitrophenyl phosphate spectrophotometric method. The kinetic constants of enzymatic reaction were also investigated with the apparent kinetic constant Km as 2.77 mmol/L and the maximum velocity Vmax as 0.33 mol/min.     Men Are Elected, Women Are Married: Events Gender Bias on Wikipedia

    Human activities can be seen as sequences of events, which are crucial to understanding societies. Disproportional event distribution for different demographic groups can manifest and amplify social stereotypes, and potentially jeopardize the ability of members in some groups to pursue certain goals. In this paper, we present the first event-centric study of gender biases in a Wikipedia corpus. To facilitate the study, we curate a corpus of career and personal life descriptions with demographic information consisting of 7,854 fragments from 10,412 celebrities. Then we detect events with a state-of-the-art event detection model, calibrate the results using strategically generated templates, and extract events that have asymmetric associations with genders. Our study discovers that the Wikipedia pages tend to intermingle personal life events with professional events for females but not for males, which calls for the awareness of the Wikipedia community to formalize guidelines and train the editors to mind the implicit biases that contributors carry. Our work also lays the foundation for future works on quantifying and discovering event biases at the corpus level.Comment: ACL 202

    Objective: To evaluate the clinical application effects of new type secure toenail clipper for diabetes patients. Methods: Combining advantages and abandoning shortcomings of common nail clippers and scissors, designed a new type toenail clipper for diabetes patients with abnormal and (or) hard toenails, and applied it in 450 diabetes patients. Results: Easy application with safety and effective pruning. After pruning, the pain and oppression feeling caused by abnormal and (or) hard toenails relieved, and no case had diabetic foot ulcer. Conclusions: The new type secure toenail clipper can effectively reduce the sense of pain and oppression, and decrease the incidence of diabetic foot ulcer.目的  评价安全型糖尿病足趾甲修剪钳的临床应用效果。方法  结合普通指甲钳及剪刀的优点,摒弃缺点,针对糖尿病足顽固趾甲设计一款新型的趾甲修剪钳,应用于450例糖尿病足顽固趾甲患者。结果  操作者施力方便,修剪安全、有效。修剪后患者疼痛感与压迫感减轻,无1例发生糖尿病足溃疡。结论  新型糖尿病足趾甲修剪钳能够有效减轻患者顽固趾甲所致的疼痛感与压迫感,降低糖尿病足溃疡发生率

    Clinical reports: the care of elderly patients with diabetic heel ulcer

    目的  评价老年糖尿病足跟溃疡的临床护理效果。方法  选择我院整合门诊收治的老年糖尿病足跟溃疡患者6例,采用创面处理、适宜的抗菌敷料、减压技术和全身支持治疗,观察治疗护理效果。结果  6例足跟溃疡全部愈合,创面愈合时间为63~448天,159±62.56天。结论  创面减压、活性炭纤维含银敷料的应用及全身治疗能够促进糖尿病患者足跟溃疡的愈合。Objective: To evaluate the effect of clinical nursing in the elderly with diabetic heel ulcer. Methods: 6 elderly patients with diabetic heel ulcer admitted to our hospital integration outpatient were recruited. All of these patients accepted wound treatment, appropriate antimicrobial dressing, decompression technology and systemic support treatment. Results: All 6 cases of heel ulcer has healed, wound healing time was 63~448d, (159 ± 62.56)d. Conclusion: The application of wound decompression, a silver-containing activated carbon fiber dressing and systemic treatment can promote the healing of diabetic heel ulcer
