Multiobjective nonfragile fuzzy control for nonlinear stochastic financial systems with mixed time delays

    Get PDF
In this study, a multiobjective nonfragile control is proposed for a class of stochastic Takagi and Sugeno (T–S) fuzzy systems with mixed time delays to guarantee the optimal H2 and H∞ performance simultaneously. Firstly, based on the T–S fuzzy model, two form of nonfragile state feedback controllers are designed to stabilize the T–S fuzzy system, that is to say, nonfragile state feedback controllers minimize the H2 and H∞ performance simultaneously. Then, by applying T–S fuzzy approach, the multiobjective H2/H∞ nonfragile fuzzy control problem is transformed into linear matrix inequality (LMI)-constrained multiobjective problem (MOP). In addition, we efficiently solve Pareto optimal solutions for the MOP by employing LMI-based multiobjective evolution algorithm (MOEA). Finally, the validity of this approach is illustrated by a realistic design example

Abstract: Thermal energy storage system is of great significance for the concentrated solar power system to keep the balance between power generation and demand. Metal hydride based thermal energy storage system is regarded as a promising method due to its good reversibility, low cost, and no by-product. Multi-phase heat exchange has much higher heat transfer coefficient than single-phase fluid heat exchange, thus facilitating the steam generation. In this study, a two-dimensional model of the metal hydride reactor using multi-phase heat exchange is proposed to estimate the performance and its feasibility of application in the concentrated solar power system. The results show that the velocity of the heat transfer fluid should match well with the thermal conductivity of the metal hydride bed to maintain the heat flux at a relatively constant value. The match of thermal conductivity of 3 or 5 W/(m·K) and fluid velocity of 0.0050 m/s results in the heat flux up to about 19 kW/m2, which is increased by 3 orders of magnitude than single-phase heat exchange. In the thermal energy storage system, the reheating cycle is recommended to improve the utilization of the thermal energy. The efficiency of the system could be improved from 18.4% to 30.8% using the reheating cycle. The increased efficiency is comparable to the previously reported efficiency of 39.2%. Besides, the operation strategy of raising the steam temperature by increasing the hydrogen pressure or the superheater temperature is suggested for the system to obtain higher efficiency

Quantivine: A Visualization Approach for Large-scale Quantum Circuit Representation and Analysis

Quantum computing is a rapidly evolving field that enables exponential speed-up over classical algorithms. At the heart of this revolutionary technology are quantum circuits, which serve as vital tools for implementing, analyzing, and optimizing quantum algorithms. Recent advancements in quantum computing and the increasing capability of quantum devices have led to the development of more complex quantum circuits. However, traditional quantum circuit diagrams suffer from scalability and readability issues, which limit the efficiency of analysis and optimization processes. In this research, we propose a novel visualization approach for large-scale quantum circuits by adopting semantic analysis to facilitate the comprehension of quantum circuits. We first exploit meta-data and semantic information extracted from the underlying code of quantum circuits to create component segmentations and pattern abstractions, allowing for easier wrangling of massive circuit diagrams. We then develop Quantivine, an interactive system for exploring and understanding quantum circuits. A series of novel circuit visualizations are designed to uncover contextual details such as qubit provenance, parallelism, and entanglement. The effectiveness of Quantivine is demonstrated through two usage scenarios of quantum circuits with up to 100 qubits and a formal user evaluation with quantum experts. BackgroundThe poor clinical accuracy to predict the survival of colon cancer patients is associated with a high incidence rate and a poor 3-year survival rate. This study aimed to identify the poor prognostic biomarkers of colon cancer from natural killer cell-mediated cytotoxic pathway (NKCP), and establish a logistical regression scoring model to predict its prognosis.MethodsBased on the expressions and methylations of NKCP-related genes (NRGs) and the clinical information, dimensionality reduction screening was performed to establish a logistic regression scoring model to predict survival and prognosis. Risk score, clinical stage, and ULBP2 were used to establish a logistic regression scoring model to classify the 3-year survival period and compare with each other. Comparison of survival, tumor mutation burden (TMB), estimation of immune invasion, and prediction of chemotherapeutic drug IC50 were performed between low- and high-risk score groups.ResultsThis study found that ULBP2 was significantly overexpressed in colon cancer tissues and colon cancer cell lines. The logistic regression scoring model was established to include six statistically significant features: S = 1.70 × stage – 9.32 × cg06543087 + 6.19 × cg25848557 + 1.29 × IFNA1 + 0.048 × age + 4.37 × cg21370856 − 8.93, which was used to calculate risk score of each sample. The risk scores, clinical stage, and ULBP2 were classified into three-year survival, the 3-year prediction accuracy based on 10-fold cross-validation was 80.17%, 67.24, and 59.48%, respectively. The survival time of low-risk score group was better than that of the high-risk score group. Moreover, compared to high-risk score group, low-risk score group had lower TMB [2.20/MB (log10) vs. 2.34/MB (log10)], higher infiltration score of M0 macrophages (0.17 vs. 0.14), and lower mean IC50 value of oxaliplatin (3.65 vs 3.78) (p < 0.05).ConclusionsThe significantly upregulated ULBP2 was a poor prognostic biomarker of colon cancer. The risk score based on the six-feature logistic regression model can effectively predict the 3-year survival time. High-risk score group demonstrated a poorer prognosis, higher TMB, lower M0 macrophage infiltration score, and higher IC50 value of oxaliplatin. The six-feature logistic scoring model has certain clinical significance in colon cancer

Genetic improvement of resistance to blast and bacterial blight of the elite maintainer line Rongfeng B in hybrid rice (Oryza sativa L.) by using marker-assisted selection

Rice blast caused by the fungus Magnaporthe grisea and bacterial blight (BB) caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae (Xoo) are two major rice diseases in the world. An elite, early maturing maintainer line of hybrid rice, Rongfeng B hybrid rice is susceptible to both blast and BB. For improving its diseases resistance, BL122 and CBB23 were used as the donors of blast resistance genes Pi1 and Pi2 and BB resistance gene Xa23, respectively. These resistant genes were introgressed into Rongfeng B by using a marker-assisted backcross breeding programs, and two improved lines D521 and D524 with Pi1, Pi2 and Xa23 were developed. The results indicated that both improved lines showed high resistance to leaf and neck blast and BB. The resistance frequencies for the rice blast and the length of lesions resulting from BB ranged from 96.7 to 100% and 0.77 to 1.18 cm, respectively. The two improved lines showed the desired variation in the majority of evaluated agronomic traits, including the number of grains per panicle, the grains weight, plant height, and seed setting rate. A new cytoplasmic male sterile line, Rongfeng 3A, with Pi1, Pi2, and Xa23, was successfully developed through successive backcross breeding. Keywords: Gene pyramiding, marker-assisted backcross breeding, rice blast, bacterial bligh
