DJpsiFDC: an event generator for the process ggJ/ψJ/ψgg\to J/\psi J/\psi at LHC

DJpsiFDC is an event generator package for the process ggJ/ψJ/ψgg\to J/\psi J/\psi. It generates events for primary leading-order 222\to 2 processes. The package could generate a LHE document and this document could easily be embedded into detector simulation software frameworks. The package is produced in Fortran codes.Comment: 10 pages, 3 figure

AIM: To compare unilateral lateral rectus recession surgery and unilateral small lateral rectus recession combines with small medial rectus shortening surgery treatment efficacy for small strabismus degree of basic intermittent exotropia.<p>METHODS: The 73 cases of small strabismus degree(strabismus degree in -15~-30PD)of basic intermittent exotropia hospitalized patients were analyzed retrospectively. The selected cases are divided into A, B groups: Group A underwent unilateral lateral rectus recession surgery; Group B unilateral small lateral rectus recession combines with small medial rectus shortening surgery. Eyes position, the same time visual, fusion visual, far and near stereoscopic visual postoperative follow-up 6 months were observed and analyzed in both groups.Compare postoperative eyes position anteroposterior rate, undercorrection rate and overcorrection rate; Compare binocular vision recovery rate, undercorrection rate and overcorrection rate. Compare relationships between age and binocular vision recovery rate. <p>RESULTS: Postoperative anteroposterior ratio of eye position follow-up 6 months: group B was significantly higher than that of group A and difference between the two groups is statistically significance. Postoperative follow-up 6 months binocular fusion function, far and near stereoscopic visual function recovery rate, group B was significantly higher than that of group A and difference between the two groups is statistically significance(<i>P</i><0.05); Postoperative follow-up 6 months age and single eyes visual function recovery rate: binocular fusion function, far and near stereoscopic visual function recovery rate, 4-12 years old group are higher than 13-30 years old group, difference between the two age groups is statistically significance(<i>P</i><0.05).<p>CONCLUSION: Using unilateral small lateral rectus recession combines with small medial rectus shortening surgery curative effect for the treatment of small strabismus degree of intermittent exotropia. Postoperative anteroposterior ratio eye position, binocular single visual function recovery rate are better than unilateral lateral rectus recession surgery; Early surgery is more advantageous to the binocular visual function recovery

Stable nontrivial Z2 topology in ultrathin Bi (111) films: a first-principles study

Recently, there have been intense efforts in searching for new topological insulator (TI) materials. Based on first-principles calculations, we find that all the ultrathin Bi (111) films are characterized by a nontrivial Z2 number independent of the film thickness, without the odd-even oscillation of topological triviality as commonly perceived. The stable nontrivial Z2 topology is retained by the concurrent band gap inversions at multiple time-reversal-invariant k-points and associated with the intermediate inter-bilayer coupling of the multi-bilayer Bi film. Our calculations further indicate that the presence of metallic surface states in thick Bi(111) films can be effectively removed by surface adsorption.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figure

Corrections to LRT on Large Dimensional Covariance Matrix by RMT

In this paper, we give an explanation to the failure of two likelihood ratio procedures for testing about covariance matrices from Gaussian populations when the dimension is large compared to the sample size. Next, using recent central limit theorems for linear spectral statistics of sample covariance matrices and of random F-matrices, we propose necessary corrections for these LR tests to cope with high-dimensional effects. The asymptotic distributions of these corrected tests under the null are given. Simulations demonstrate that the corrected LR tests yield a realized size close to nominal level for both moderate p (around 20) and high dimension, while the traditional LR tests with chi-square approximation fails. Another contribution from the paper is that for testing the equality between two covariance matrices, the proposed correction applies equally for non-Gaussian populations yielding a valid pseudo-likelihood ratio test.Comment: 25 pages, 2 figures and 3 table

In the asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Mn(C7H5O3)2(C14H12N2)(H2O)]·0.5C14H12N2, the MnII ion is coordinated by a bidentate 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline (dmphen) molecule, one water molecule and two monodentate 2-hydroxybenzoate anions in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. The OH group of the 2-hydroxybenzoate anion is disordered over two positions with site-occupancy factors of 0.5. The asymmetric unit is completed with by an uncoordinated half-molecule of dmphen, disordered about a crystallographic twofold axis. In the crystal structure, molecules are linked into a two-dimensional framework by O—H⋯N, O—H⋯O and C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The packing of the structure is further stabilized by π–π stacking interactions involving dmphen molecules, with centroid–centroid separations of 3.8027 (3) and 3.6319 (3) Å

The continual presence of C3d but not IgG glomerular capillary deposition in stage I idiopathic membranous nephropathy in patients receiving corticosteroid treatment

BACKGROUND: Pathologic diagnosis of stage I idiopathic membranous nephropathy (MN-I) requires electron microscopy or immunohistochemistry that shows a glomerular capillary staining pattern of IgG and C3. However, it is not uncommon that renal biopsy did not obtain sufficient material for electron microscopy and that IgG and C3 staining in glomeruli largely lost at biopsy due to corticosteroid treatment. Since C3d is one of the final degradation products of C3 that is more stable in vivo, we determine if C3d staining could be used as a novel immunohistochemical marker for MN-I. METHODS AND RESULTS: 74 MN-I patients with electron microscopy proven MN-I were examined by immunoperoxidase staining of C3d. Intensive C3d staining was present in glomerular capillary like the staining pattern of IgG and C3 in MN-I. Importantly, in 40 MN-I patients who underwent corticosteroid treatment at biopsy the intensity and glomerular capillary pattern of C3d staining remained largely intact while the staining for IgG had substantially reduced and the pattern of glomerular capillary staining became unrecognizable. CONCLUSIONS: C3d glomerular capillary staining may be a novel marker for pathologic diagnosis of MN-I that is continuously present at biopsy in patient who has received corticosteroid treatment.
