A Cyclic Analogue of Stanley's Shuffle Theorem

We introduce the cyclic major index of a cycle permutation and give a bivariate analogue of enumerative formula for the cyclic shuffles with a given cyclic descent numbers due to Adin, Gessel, Reiner and Roichman, which can be viewed as a cyclic analogue of Stanley's Shuffle Theorem. This gives an answer to a question of Adin, Gessel, Reiner and Roichman, which has been posed by Domagalski, Liang, Minnich, Sagan, Schmidt and Sietsema again.Comment: 7 pages. Studies on Agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation of embryogenic suspension cultures of sweet potato

    Get PDF
In this study, genetic transformation of embryogenic suspension cultures of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) cultivar Xu55-2 was conducted utilizing the Agrobacterium tumefaciens strain EHA105 thatcontains the binary vector pBIN19/SBD2 with SBD2 (starch binding domain 2) gene and neomycin phosphotransferase (NPT II) gene. The presence of the SBD2 gene in the genomic DNA of transgenicplants was verified by PCR amplification and confirmed by Southern blot analysis. Results suggested that cefotaxime (Cefo), at the concentration of 200 mg/L, was able to effectively suppress the growth ofAgrobacterium after co-cultivation. The optimal concentration for kanamycin (Kan) was 10 mg/L for selecting resistance calli, somatic embryo formation and plant regeneration. The highest frequency ofshoot induction (30.9%) was obtained on the MS medium containing 10 mg/L Kan, 200 mg/L Cefo, 1.0 mg/L abscisic acid (ABA) and 1.0 mg/L gibberellic acid (GA3)

Performance of Photosensors in the PandaX-I Experiment

We report the long term performance of the photosensors, 143 one-inch R8520-406 and 37 three-inch R11410-MOD photomultipliers from Hamamatsu, in the first phase of the PandaX dual-phase xenon dark matter experiment. This is the first time that a significant number of R11410 photomultiplier tubes were operated in liquid xenon for an extended period, providing important guidance to the future large xenon-based dark matter experiments.Comment: v3 as accepted by JINST with modifications based on reviewers' comment
