    Survey of preservatives on shelf life of silver carp burger

    In this research in order to assess the possibility of antioxidant effects in quality protection and increase the shelf alife of fish burgers, ascorbic acid as a antioxidant by natural source used in raw uncoated fish burgers and in order to comparison by vacuum packaging, 3 treatments of uncoated fish burgers produced from cultivated silver carp: 1- burgers by common packaging (control) 2- burgers by vacunm packaging 3- burgers by 500ppm Ascorbic acid. Also in order to comparison BHA+BHT antioxidants (that have synergistic effects to each other) effect by vacuum packaging to prevention of lipid oxidation in semi-fried fish burgers 3 other treatments produced too: 1- burgers by common packaging (control) 2- burgers by vacunm packaging 3-burgers by 200 ppm BHA+BHT antioxidants comparatively to fats of product. All of the burgers after production and freezing conserved in -18°c for 6 months (Raw uncoated burgers) and one year (Semi-fried coated burgers). During the storage period chemical, microbiological, and organoleptic tests were down by three repetition monthly. Although peroxide value in raw uncoated fish burgers were higher than standard range even from first month but it seems this factor is not suitable for quality evaluation of uncoated raw fish burgers. Evaluation of TBA index in raw uncoated fish burgers during storage time showed at the end of storage period TBA index for control, vacuum and ascorbic acid treatments were 6.31, 4.76 and 1.29 mg malonaldehyde/kg respectively and taste scores were 5.11, 5.42 and 6.16 respectively. Results indicate the positive effects of ascorbic acid to prevention of lipid oxidation. By attention to TVN, TBA and organoleptic tests 4 mounths for treatments without ascorbic acid by vacuum packaging preference and 6 months shelf life for ascorbic acid treatment have suggested in -18°c temperature. For semi fried fish burger 28 prevention effect for lipid oxidation but vacuum packaging had 32 (without significantly difference,P>0.05). so we can for %BHA+BHT treatment this property was recommend the use of vacuum packaging instead of antioxidant treatment. By attention to TVN, pH, PV, TBA and microbiological and organoleptic tests we can suggest the 8 months for shelf life time of semi fried fish burgers. In this product TVN was the only limitation factor and exeeded from standard range at 9th month of maintenance

    Development of New Potassium Carbonate Sorbent for CO2 Capture under Real Flue Gas Conditions

    In this paper, the development of a new potassium carbonateon alumina support sorbent prepared by impregnating K2CO3 with an industrial grade of Al2O3 support was investigated. The CO2 capture capacity was measured using real flue gas with 8% CO2 and 12% H2O in a fixed-bed reactor at a temperature of 65 °C using breakthrough curves. The developed sorbent showed an adsorption capacity of 66.2 mgCO2/(gr sorbent). The stability of sorbent capture capacity was higher than the reference sorbent. The SO2 impurity decreased sorbent capacity about 10%. The free carbon had a small effect on sorbent capacity after 5 cycles. After 5 cycles of adsorption and regeneration, the changes in the pore volume and surface area were 0.020 cm3/gr and 5.5 m2/gr respectively. Small changes occurred in the pore size distribution and surface area of sorbent after 5 cycles

    Preparation of a Low-Cost KCO/AlO Sorbent for CO Capture at Flue-Gas Operating Conditions

    In this study, the efficiency of a low-cost K 2 CO 3 /Al 2 O 3 sorbent as a CO 2 capture support was investigated. The sorbent was prepared by impregnating K 2 CO 3 on industrial-grade Al 2 O 3 . The CO 2 capture capacity of the sorbent was calculated from the breakthrough curve of the CO 2 adsorption inside a fixed-bed reactor, in the presence of H 2 O and at an adsorption temperature of 60 °C. An adsorption capacity of 75.4 mg CO 2 /g of sorbent was obtained. The stability of capture capacity of the sorbent was higher than that of the reference sorbent. The changes in the pore volume and surface area were 0.020 cm 3 /g and 5.5 m 2 /g, respectively, after five cycles of adsorption and regeneration. However, there were minor changes in the pore-size distribution and surface area of the sorbent after five cycles. This sorbent can be considered to be used in large-scale applications

    Youth and Academic and Educational Alienation

    The empirical studies undertaken on academic culture in Iran suggest an inefficient academic acculturation and students alienation from the structure and process of a desired academic culture. A sense of powerlessness, normlessness, anomie, social isolation and in general strangement from the self, educational processes, unverrsity camp, academic staff members and also from other students is increasingly growing in the minds and feelings of a considerable number of higher education students in humanities and social sciences. Drawing on a mixed methodology, the following paper aims to reconstruct the phenomenology of academic and educational alienation based on students personal lived experience and narrativity. Apart from accounting for internal and external social factors affecting this experience, we have proposed a typology of the types of alienation experienced by different groups of students and the strategies they have adopted to counter it. Results suggest that alienation is directly affected by culture politics and involves different social, psychological, and economic consequences in their lives

    As one of the most important understory evergreen species in Hyrcanian forests of Iran, information on the distribution of  Box  (Buxus Hyrcana Pojark.) are essential for both forest research and practice. Here, the capability of very high spatial resolution IKONOS satellite imagery acquired in leaf-off condition was tested for mapping Box distribution in a part of Khiboos-Anjili forest reserve in Mazandaran province. The IKONOS imagery was geometrically corrected with a georefrenced panchromatic Pleaides scene, which was orthorectified using 3D ground control points obtained using differential GPS (RMSE less than one pixel). Reference data samples from three classes of non-forested area, deciduous stands without Box understory and deciduous stands with Box understory were recorded using DGPS-supported field survey. By means of a number of vegetation indices, classes seperabilities were evaluated on main and synthetic image channels by partitioning 75% training area and transformed divergence. IKONOS image was classified using both main and best-selected bands and a number of nonparametric (Maximum Likelihood, Mahalonobis distance, Minimum distance to mean and Paralell piped) and parametric (Suport Vector Machine) classifiers. Then the classified images were assessed using 25 percent of unused sample points. Results of validation using the 25% left-out test data showed the highest performance by SVM algorithm compared to other algorithms, with overall accuracy and Kappa coefficient of 97.87% and 0.96, respectively. The results also showed the potential of IKONOS imagery from leaf-off season has to map Box trees in understory layer
