Cement type used at this research is PCC (Portland Composite Cement) which produced by PT.Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk. Cement is an important material as construction principalcomponent. There are many benefits that is taken from cement, as cement mixture on building, even it can be used as soil stabilization agent, especially clay. This research conducted to knowhow big swelling and swelling pressure on clay if it was added by cements on PCC. Testconducted in three phases, (1). Physical properties test of clay, and soil-cement PCC mixture, (2).Compaction test with modified proctor method; and (3). Swelling and swelling pressure test withfold loads 17,67 kg. Sample that will be tested is clay of Fila Tengah. Suwoh – West Lampung andclay that mixed cements of PCC with presentation 5%, 10%, and 15%. Base on the result, the soilof Fila Tengah, Suwoh – West Lampung is classified in soft clay category (AASHTO and Unifiedclassification). Another result obtained explain that cements of PCC USAge by the certainpresentation can very affect to clay swelling and swelling pressure. The swelling of clay that wasreached is 8,75 cm. Fifteen percent cements of PCC can be pressed decreasing became 6,5 cm.The swelling pressure of clay is 120,05 kPa. Fifteen percent cements of PCC added is 70,03 kPa.Can be concluded that the best cement to clay stabilization as mixture for clay is cements of PCC

There are lot of benefits can be obtained from lime, as mixture or filler, even it can be use as soilstabilization agent that is for clay stability. The experiment\u27s purpose is to know swelling andswelling pressure of clay when the addiction of lime applied. Test conducted in three phases, (1).physical test for clay and soil - lime mixture; (2). compaction test with modified proctor, and (3).swelling and swelling pressure test with load multiple of 17,67 kg. The soil sample is clay broughtfrom Gumbib Village at West Lampung and mixed with lime at 5%, 10%, and 15%. The resulttest that, the soil sample is classified in soft clay category (AASHTO and Unified). Another resultobtained that the USAge of lime with certain procentage very effect to swelling and swellingpressure of clay. The addiction of lime applied, the swelling and swelling pressure of clay isdecreased. So it can be concluded that lime can be used as clay stabilizer

AMCTD: Adaptive Mobility of Courier nodes in Threshold-optimized DBR Protocol for Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks

In dense underwater sensor networks (UWSN), the major confronts are high error probability, incessant variation in topology of sensor nodes, and much energy consumption for data transmission. However, there are some remarkable applications of UWSN such as management of seabed and oil reservoirs, exploration of deep sea situation and prevention of aqueous disasters. In order to accomplish these applications, ignorance of the limitations of acoustic communications such as high delay and low bandwidth is not feasible. In this paper, we propose Adaptive mobility of Courier nodes in Threshold-optimized Depth-based routing (AMCTD), exploring the proficient amendments in depth threshold and implementing the optimal weight function to achieve longer network lifetime. We segregate our scheme in 3 major phases of weight updating, depth threshold variation and adaptive mobility of courier nodes. During data forwarding, we provide the framework for alterations in threshold to cope with the sparse condition of network. We ultimately perform detailed simulations to scrutinize the performance of our proposed scheme and its comparison with other two notable routing protocols in term of network lifetime and other essential parameters. The simulations results verify that our scheme performs better than the other techniques and near to optimal in the field of UWSN.Comment: 8th International Conference on Broadband and Wireless Computing, Communication and Applications (BWCCA'13), Compiegne, Franc

    New Positive Inotropic Agents

Current therapy for heart failure remains inadequate. New positive inotropic agents that augment myocardial contractility have been introduced. The positive inotropic effects of these nonglycoside, nonsympathomimetic agents are due, at least in part, to inhibition of cardiac phosphodiesterase activity and hence to an increase in myocardial cyclic AMP levels. These agents also have vasodilator properties through their effects on the enzyme phosphodiesterase in the vascular smooth muscle. Recent developments in the preclinical pharmacology, mechanism of action, and clinical experience with these new inotrope vasodilators are presented in this review. The role these drugs will play in revising our therapeutic strategy in congestive heart failure remains to be defined

Genotoxic effects of 5-bromouracil on cytomorphological characters of Cichorium intybus L.

This work was done to study the effect of base analogue 5-bromouracil (5-BU) on the medicinal herb, Cichorium intybus. 5-BU induced miss pairing during the DNA replication. The seeds of C. intybus were treated with different concentrations of 5-BU. Variations in some parameters such as seed germination, seedling survival, seedling height, pollen fertility, days to flowering, days to maturity, number of leaves per plant, plant height, and chromosome behavior were studied in M1 generation. A positive correlation between increasing concentrations of mutagen and various cytomorphological characters of C. intybus was observed.Key words: Chromosomal aberrations, Cichorium intybus, morphological variations, 5-bromouracil

Slope stability analysis in Ulubelu Lampung using computational analysis program

Ulubelu sub-district is the center of geothermal activity in Lampung Province. The Ulubelu geothermal project supply 25% of electricity to Lampung Province. In the future the Government plans to build a geothermal pipeline network with the aim of maximizing the potential found in Ulubelu. One of the objects that must be examined in the construction of the pipeline is the stability of the slope that will be passed by geothermal pipes. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the stability of landslides in the Ulubelu geothermal pipeline. Soil samples for this study were taken from 5 locations: BH-01, BH-02, BH-03, BH-04, and BH-05. This soil sample is then examined to determine its soil mechanics characteristics in the laboratory. The safety factor of each sample is analyzed using 3 slope analysis methods: the Fellenius method, the Bishop method, and the Janbu method, and calculated in Geostudio (Slope/W). The results showed that all samples showed safety factor values that were not much different that were spread between the numbers 1.7 to 4.3. This shows that all sample locations are safe from landslides. This also shows that the characteristics of the soil and the slope of the study area are almost the same
