Exact Solution of a Reaction-Diffusion Model with Particle Number Conservation
We analytically investigate a 1d branching-coalescing model with reflecting
boundaries in a canonical ensemble where the total number of particles on the
chain is conserved. Exact analytical calculations show that the model has two
different phases which are separated by a second-order phase transition. The
thermodynamic behavior of the canonical partition function of the model has
been calculated exactly in each phase. Density profiles of particles have also
been obtained explicitly. It is shown that the exponential part of the density
profiles decay on three different length scales which depend on total density

The optimized Rayleigh-Ritz scheme for determining the quantum-mechanical spectrum
The convergence of the Rayleigh-Ritz method with nonlinear parameters
optimized through minimization of the trace of the truncated matrix is
demonstrated by a comparison with analytically known eigenstates of various
quasi-solvable systems. We show that the basis of the harmonic oscillator
eigenfunctions with optimized frequency ? enables determination of boundstate
energies of one-dimensional oscillators to an arbitrary accuracy, even in the
case of highly anharmonic multi-well potentials. The same is true in the
spherically symmetric case of V (r) = {\omega}2r2 2 + {\lambda}rk, if k > 0.
For spiked oscillators with k < -1, the basis of the pseudoharmonic oscillator
eigenfunctions with two parameters ? and {\gamma} is more suitable, and
optimization of the latter appears crucial for a precise determination of the

Molecular Diagnosis of Iris Yellow Spot Virus (IYSV) on Onion in Iran
Viral symptoms indicative of Iris yellow spot virus (IYSV) were observed on onion in several fields near Chenaran in Khorasan Razavi Province. Mechanical inoculation of herbaceous hosts with onion sap extracts from symptomatic plants showed similar symptoms to those described for IYSV. The mechanically transmitted virus reacted only with antisera specific to IYSV in DAS-ELISA but not with antisera specific to seven other tospoviruses. In RT-PCR, a DNA fragment approximately 822 bp in size was amplified from infected Nicotiana benthamiana by using primers specific to the nucleocapsid (N) gene of IYSV. After cloning and sequencing, the deduced N protein sequence of two isolates (GenBank accession no. HQ148173 and HQ148174) showed 98% amino acid identity with a Sri Lankan isolate, 96% with a Dutch isolate and 92% with a Brazilian isolate. Partially Asymmetric Simple Exclusion Model in the Presence of an Impurity on a Ring
We study a generalized two-species model on a ring. The original model [1]
describes ordinary particles hopping exclusively in one direction in the
presence of an impurity. The impurity hops with a rate different from that of
ordinary particles and can be overtaken by them. Here we let the ordinary
particles hop also backward with the rate q. Using Matrix Product Ansatz (MPA),
we obtain the relevant quadratic algebra. A finite dimensional representation
of this algebra enables us to compute the stationary bulk density of the
ordinary particles, as well as the speed of impurity on a set of special
surfaces of the parameter space. We will obtain the phase structure of this
model in the accessible region and show how the phase structure of the original
model is modified. In the infinite-volume limit this model presents a shock in

Construction of a Coordinate Bethe Ansatz for the asymmetric simple exclusion process with open boundaries
The asymmetric simple exclusion process with open boundaries, which is a very
simple model of out-of-equilibrium statistical physics, is known to be
integrable. In particular, its spectrum can be described in terms of Bethe
roots. The large deviation function of the current can be obtained as well by
diagonalizing a modified transition matrix, that is still integrable: the
spectrum of this new matrix can be also described in terms of Bethe roots for
special values of the parameters. However, due to the algebraic framework used
to write the Bethe equations in the previous works, the nature of the
excitations and the full structure of the eigenvectors were still unknown. This
paper explains why the eigenvectors of the modified transition matrix are
physically relevant, gives an explicit expression for the eigenvectors and
applies it to the study of atypical currents. It also shows how the coordinate
Bethe Ansatz developped for the excitations leads to a simple derivation of the
Bethe equations and of the validity conditions of this Ansatz. All the results
obtained by de Gier and Essler are recovered and the approach gives a physical
interpretation of the exceptional points The overlap of this approach with
other tools such as the matrix Ansatz is also discussed. The method that is
presented here may be not specific to the asymmetric exclusion process and may
be applied to other models with open boundaries to find similar exceptional

Effect of a multivitamin complex and probiotic blend in drinking water before and after vaccination on performance traits, blood biochemistry and humoral immune response of broilers
This study was conducted in order to investigate the effects of a multivitamin complex and probiotic blend in drinking water before and after vaccination on growth performance, carcass traits, blood biochemical parameters and humoral immune response of broiler chickens. A total of 150 one day-old male broiler chicks (Ross 308) were randomly allocated to five treatment groups, with three replicates (10 birds per replicate) in a completely randomized design. Experimental treatments consisted of: 1) a basal diet and drinking water without any additives as control (C); 2) C + drinking water + multivitamin complex from 2 days before vaccination until 3 days after vaccination; 3) C + drinking water + multivitamin complex for 3 days after vaccination; 4) C + drinking water + probiotic blend from 2 days before vaccination until 3 days after vaccination; and 5) C + drinking water + probiotic blend for 3 days after vaccination. In the whole experimental period, feed intake, body and thigh weight and abdominal fat were significantly affected (P<0.05) by dietary treatments. On the contrary, no significant effect was observed on carcass characteristics, feed conversion ratio, blood parameters, antibody production against SRBC and IgG. The titer of IgM was higher in treatment (2) than other treatments at 28 d of age (P<0.05). In conclusion, a multivitamin complex supplied in drinking water for 2 days before vaccination till 3 days after vaccination is enable to improve broiler performance and immunity
Nonequilibrium Steady States of Matrix Product Form: A Solver's Guide
We consider the general problem of determining the steady state of stochastic
nonequilibrium systems such as those that have been used to model (among other
things) biological transport and traffic flow. We begin with a broad overview
of this class of driven diffusive systems - which includes exclusion processes
- focusing on interesting physical properties, such as shocks and phase
transitions. We then turn our attention specifically to those models for which
the exact distribution of microstates in the steady state can be expressed in a
matrix product form. In addition to a gentle introduction to this matrix
product approach, how it works and how it relates to similar constructions that
arise in other physical contexts, we present a unified, pedagogical account of
the various means by which the statistical mechanical calculations of
macroscopic physical quantities are actually performed. We also review a number
of more advanced topics, including nonequilibrium free energy functionals, the
classification of exclusion processes involving multiple particle species,
existence proofs of a matrix product state for a given model and more
complicated variants of the matrix product state that allow various types of
parallel dynamics to be handled. We conclude with a brief discussion of open

The 1999 international emergency humanitarian evacuation of the Kosovars to Canada: A qualitative study of service providers' perspectives at the international, national and local levels
BACKGROUND: In response to the Kosovo crisis, Canada received 5,500 Albanian Kosovar refugees in 1999 as part of the emergency humanitarian evacuation and settlement effort. This study attempts to describe the experiences of service providers at the international, national, and local levels, involved in the organization and delivery of health and settlement services in Canada for the Kosovar refugees. METHODS: A qualitative case study design using key informant interviews was used. Nominated sampling was used to identify 17 individuals involved in the organization and delivery of health and settlement. Key themes were identified and recommendations made to provide a framework for the development of policy to guide response to future humanitarian emergencies. RESULTS: Six themes emerged: (1) A sense of being overwhelmed, (2) A multitude of health issues, (3) critical challenges in providing health care, (4) access to health and settlement services, (5) overall successes and (6) need for a coordinated approach to migration health. CONCLUSIONS: For those involved, the experience was overwhelming but rewarding. Interviewees' major concerns were the need for a more comprehensive and coordinated approach to the flow of medical information and handling of specific health problems
Relevance of biomarkers across different neurodegenerative
Background: The panel of fluid- and imaging-based biomarkers available for neurodegenerative disease research is
growing and has the potential to close important gaps in research and the clinic. With this growth and increasing use,
appropriate implementation and interpretation are paramount. Various biomarkers feature nuanced differences in
strengths, limitations, and biases that must be considered when investigating disease etiology and clinical utility. For
example, neuropathological investigations of Alzheimerâs disease pathogenesis can fall in disagreement with conclusions
reached by biomarker-based investigations. Considering the varied strengths, limitations, and biases of different research
methodologies and approaches may help harmonize disciplines within the neurodegenerative disease field.
Purpose of review: Along with separate review articles covering fluid and imaging biomarkers in this issue of Alzheimerâs
Research and Therapy, we present the result of a discussion from the 2019 Biomarkers in Neurodegenerative Diseases
course at the University College London. Here, we discuss themes of biomarker use in neurodegenerative disease
research, commenting on appropriate use, interpretation, and considerations for implementation across different
neurodegenerative diseases. We also draw attention to areas where biomarker use can be combined with other
disciplines to understand issues of pathophysiology and etiology underlying dementia. Lastly, we highlight novel
modalities that have been proposed in the landscape of neurodegenerative disease research and care
Holographic dark energy with time varying parameter
We consider the holographic dark energy model in which the model parameter
evolves slowly with time. First we calculate the evolution of EoS
parameter as well as the deceleration parameter in this generalized version of
holographic dark energy (GHDE). Depending on the parameter , the phantom
regime can be achieved earlier or later compare with original version of
holographic dark energy. The evolution of energy density of GHDE model is
investigated in terms of parameter . We also show that the time-dependency
of can effect on the transition epoch from decelerated phase to
accelerated expansion. Finally, we perform the statefinder diagnostic for GHDE
model and show that the evolutionary trajectories of the model in plane
