Effect of Time-of-Flight and Regularized Reconstructions on Quantitative Measurements and Qualitative Assessments in Newly Diagnosed Prostate Cancer With 18F-Fluorocholine Dual Time Point PET/MRI.
Recent technical advances in positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance imaging (PET/MRI) technology allow much improved time-of-flight (TOF) and regularized iterative PET reconstruction regularized iterative reconstruction (RIR) algorithms. We evaluated the effect of TOF and RIR on standardized uptake values (maximum and peak SUV [SUVmax and SUVpeak]) and their metabolic tumor volume dependencies and visual image quality for 18F-fluorocholine PET/MRI in patients with newly diagnosed prostate cancer. Fourteen patients were administered with 3 MBq/kg of 18F-fluorocholine and scanned dynamically for 30 minutes. Positron emission tomography images were divided to early and late time points (1-6 minutes summed and 7-30 minutes summed). The values of the different SUVs were documented for dominant PET-avid lesions, and metabolic tumor volume was estimated using a 50% isocontour and SUV threshold of 2.5. Image quality was assessed via visual acuity scoring (VAS). We found that incorporation of TOF or RIR increased lesion SUVs. The lesion to background ratio was not improved by TOF reconstruction, while RIR improved the lesion to background ratio significantly ( P < .05). The values of the different VAS were all significantly higher ( P < .05) for RIR images over TOF, RIR over non-TOF, and TOF over non-TOF. In conclusion, our data indicate that TOF or RIR should be incorporated into current protocols when available

National Football League Skilled and Unskilled Positions Vary in Opportunity and Yield in Return to Play After an Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury.
BACKGROUND: Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries pose a significant risk to the careers of players in the National Football League (NFL). The relationships between draft round and position on return to play (RTP) among NFL players are not well understood, and the ability to return to preinjury performance levels remains unknown for most positions.
PURPOSE: To test for differences in RTP rates and changes in performance after an ACL injury by position and draft round. We hypothesized that skilled positions would return at a lower rate compared to unskilled positions. We further hypothesized that early draft-round status would relate to a greater rate of RTP and that skilled positions and a lower draft round would correlate with decreased performance for players who return to sport.
STUDY DESIGN: Case-control study; Level of evidence, 3.
METHODS: Utilizing a previously established database of publicly available information regarding ACL tears among NFL players, athletes with ACL tears occurring between the 2010 and 2013 seasons were identified. Generalized linear models and Kaplan-Meier time-to-event models were used to test the study hypotheses.
RESULTS: The overall RTP rate was 61.7%, with skilled players and unskilled players returning at rates of 64.1% and 60.4%, respectively (P = .74). Early draft-round players and unskilled late draft-round players had greater rates of RTP compared to skilled late draft-round players and both unskilled and skilled undrafted free agents (UDFAs). Skilled early draft-round players constituted the only cohort that played significantly fewer games after an injury. Unskilled UDFAs constituted the only cohort to show a significant increase in the number of games started and ratio of games started to games played, starting more games in which they played, after an injury.
CONCLUSION: Early draft-round and unskilled players were more likely to return compared to their later draft-round and skilled peers. Skilled early draft-round players, who displayed relatively high rates of RTP, constituted the only cohort to show a decline in performance. Unskilled UDFAs, who exhibited relatively low rates of RTP, constituted the only cohort to show an increase in performance. The significant effect of draft round and position type on RTP may be caused by a combination of differences in talent levels and in opportunities given to returning to play
Towards a 4d/2d correspondence for Sicilian quivers
We study the 4d/2d AGT correspondence between four-dimensional instanton
counting and two-dimensional conformal blocks for generalized SU(2) quiver
gauge theories coming from punctured Gaiotto curves of arbitrary genus. We
propose a conformal block description that corresponds to the elementary SU(2)
trifundamental half-hypermultiplet, and check it against Sp(1)-SO(4) instanton

Cooperative Switching in LargeâArea Assemblies of Magnetic Janus Particles
Magnetic Janus particles (MJPs) have received considerable attention for their rich assembly behavior and their potential technological role in applications ranging from simple magnetophoretic displays to smart cloaking devices. However, further progress is hampered by the lack of predictive understanding of the cooperative selfâassembly behavior of MJPs and appropriate dynamic control mechanisms. In this paper, a detailed experimental and theoretical investigation into the magnetically directed spatiotemporal selfâassembly and switching of MJPs is presented. For this purpose, a novel type of MJPs with defined hemispherical compartments carrying superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles as well as a novel simulation model to describe their cooperative switching behavior is established. Combination of the theoretical and experimental work culminates in a simple method to direct assemblies of MJPs, even at high particle concentrations. Superconformal Indices for Orbifold Chern-Simons Theories
We calculate the superconformal indices of recently discovered
three-dimensional N=4,5 Chern-Simons-matter theories and compare them with the
corresponding indices of supergravity on AdS4 times orbifolds of S7. We find
perfect agreement in the large N and large k limit, provided that the twisted
sector contributions at the fixed loci of the orbifolds are properly taken into
