    In this article, we establish the Cameron{Martin translation theo- rems for the analytic Fourier{Feynman transform of functionals on the product function space C2 a;b[0; T]. The function space Ca;b[0; T] is induced by the gener- alized Brownian motion process associated with continuous functions a(t) and b(t) on the time interval [0; T]. The process used here is nonstationary in time and is subject to a drift a(t). To study our translation theorem, we introduce a Fresnel-type class Fa;b A1;A2 of functionals on C2 a;b[0; T], which is a generaliza- tion of the Kallianpur and Bromley{Fresnel class FA1;A2 . We then proceed to establish the translation theorems for the functionals in Fa;b A1;A2

    Outcomes of Palivizumab Prophylaxis for Respiratory Syncytial Virus Infection in Preterm Children with Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia at a Single Hospital in Korea from 2005 to 2009

    This study was performed to evaluate the utilization and outcomes of palivizumab in high risk children born prematurely with chronic lung disease (CLD). A retrospective review of 128 patients was conducted from September 2004 to March 2009 at the Ajou University Hospital. All patients were diagnosed with CLD, were born at ≤35 weeks of gestation, were <2 yr old at the onset of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) season, and had received medical therapy within six months prior to the RSV season. Fifty-three patients did not receive palivizumab prophylaxis and 75 patients received at least one dose of palivizumab. There were no statistically significant differences between the patients with and without palivizumab prophylaxis with regard to demographic characteristics and risk factors for RSV infection. There were no systemic adverse responses. Compliance with the course of prophylaxis was 92.2%. Hospitalization associated with RSV occurred in 12 cases (22.6%) in the group without prophylaxis and in three cases (4.0%) with prophylaxis. Palivizumab prophylaxis significantly reduced the frequency of RSV-related hospitalization in preterm children with CLD. This is the first retrospective review of palivizumab prophylaxis in Korea. Palivizumab is effective and well tolerated in high risk prematurely born children

    A New Paradigm Unifying the Concepts in Particle Abrasion and Breakage

    This study introduces a new paradigm that unifies abrasion and breakage concepts, allowing for a holistic understanding of the comminution process. The significance of this paradigm lies in its ability to present both abrasion and breakage in a single big picture because both processes can co-occur under loading as particles are subjected to friction as well as collision. A comprehensive descriptive framework is employed to this end, which operates in a log-transformed surface-area-to-volume ratio (A/VA/V) and volume (VV) space. This space facilitates a holistic characterization of the four-dimensional particle geometry features, i.e., volume (VV), surface area (AA), size (DD), and shape (β{\beta}). Consequently, this approach enables to systematically relate the co-occurring abrasion and breakage process to co-evolving particle shape and size. Transformative concepts including the breakage line, sphere line, and average shape-conserving line are introduced to describe the limit states and a special comminution process. This approach also uncovers a self-similar nature in evolving particle geometry during comminution, which will be a significant discovery for the granular materials research community given the most fundamental properties observed in natural phenomena.Comment: 10 pages, 5 figures; No difference from arXiv:2306.04635v1 except the first page stam
