    Steam distillation of Melodorum cylindricum leaves (176 gram), Litsea firma leaves (295 gram), L firma stem bark (1,590 gram) and Callistemon lanceolatus leaves (300 gram) yielded 0.15%, 1.68%, 0.23% and 0.4% essential oils respectively.The oils were analyzed using GC-MS methods. The results identified 71 components from the leaves of M. Cylindricum which p-myrcene is the highest (12,56%). Leaves and stem bark of L. firma contained 20 and 24 components which 2-undecanone (34,95%) and undecanone (29,57%) as the highest major components. The essential oil of C. lanceolatus identified 24 components and 1,8 cineol is the major component with the highest content, 67.37%

    Chemical analysis of leaves essential oil on three Piper species, P. malamiri, P. baccatum and P. majusculum was conducted using gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GCMS) method.Chromatogram result showed 52, 56 and 47 peaks on leaves essential oil of P.malamiri, P.baccatum and P.majusculum respectively. Based on the peaks,it is known that isocaryofilene is the major, common and as the highest component found in the three essential oils, beside several other major components

    Magnetotransport and spin dynamics in an electron gas formed at oxide interfaces

    We investigate the spin-dependent transport properties of a two-dimensional electron gas formed at oxides' interface in the presence of a magnetic field. We consider several scenarios for the oxides' properties, including oxides with co-linear or spiral magnetic and ferroelectric order. For spiral multiferroic oxides, the magnetoelectric coupling and the topology of the localized magnetic moments introduce additional, electric field controlled spin-orbit coupling that affects the magneto-oscillation of the current. An interplay of this spin-orbit coupling, the exchange field, and of the applied magnetic field results in a quantum, gate-controlled spin and charge Hall conductance

    Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan diskresi dalam menyelenggarakan fungsi pajak dan untuk mengetahui tolok ukur serta bentuk atau mekanisme pengujian asas freies ermessen manakala terjadi kerugian bagi masyarakat. Pada dasarnya freies ermessen muncul karena sebagai ketentuan tertulis (written law), peraturan Perundang- undangan memiliki jangkauan yang terbatas bila dibandingkan dengan Perubahan atau perkembangan masyarakat yang semakin cepat, sementara pada prinsipnya badan/pejabat administrasi pemerintahan tidak boleh menolak untuk memberikan pelayanan kepada mayarakat dengan alasan hukumnya tidak ada ataupun hukumnya ada tetapi tidak jelas sepanjang hal tersebut masih menjadi kewenanganya, untuk itu asas freies ermessen hadir sebagai dasar pemerintah untuk membuat peraturan kebijakan agar penyelenggaraan fungsi pajak dapat terlaksana sebagaimana mestinya. Meskipun demikian kesewenag-wenangan maupun kelalaian pejabat adminisgtrasi negara bisa saja terjadi dan mengakibatkan kerugian Sehingga untuk mencegah kemungkinan terjadinya kesewenang wenangan atau kelalaian pejabat administrasi negara yang mengakibatkan kerugianuntuk itu, maka diperlukan adanya tolok ukur dan pengujian terhadap peraturan tersebut

    Melting of persistent double-stranded polymers

    Motivated by recent DNA-pulling experiments, we revisit the Poland-Scheraga model of melting a double-stranded polymer. We include distinct bending rigidities for both the double-stranded segments, and the single-stranded segments forming a bubble. There is also bending stiffness at the branch points between the two segment types. The transfer matrix technique for single persistent chains is generalized to describe the branching bubbles. Properties of spherical harmonics are then exploited in truncating and numerically solving the resulting transfer matrix. This allows efficient computation of phase diagrams and force-extension curves (isotherms). While the main focus is on exposition of the transfer matrix technique, we provide general arguments for a reentrant melting transition in stiff double strands. Our theoretical approach can also be extended to study polymers with bubbles of any number of strands, with potential applications to molecules such as collagen.Comment: 9 pages, 7 figure

    YULIASRI JAMAL&G. PANGGABEAN. 1988 The effect of drying on the fat content of th chillies (Capsicum annuum L.). Berita Biologi 3(8) 374 - 376. The treating of chillies on various temperatures were studied in order to know their effect on the fat content.The chillies were dried in the refrigerator (12°C),in the room at ambient temperature (25°C ±2°C), in the sun shine (35°C ± 2°C) in the oven at various temperatures such as 40°C 50°C, 60°C, 70°C, 80°C, 90°C and 100°C.During the investigation were used cabe keriting and cabe besar biasa & it were obtained from the local market.The results of the observation that the highest fat content were found on the cabe keriting a 70 C drying as well as room temperature.The fat content of terated chillies, however, in the oven at 50°C, 60°C were similar 14%.Meanwhile,the dried chillies as the result on the sun shine was 3,5% fat content. The fat content of cabe besar biasa was significantly high at 70°C. The fat content of the chillies decreased rapidly on the treating in the sun shine.The chillies both cabe keriting and cabe besar biasa which were dried more than 60°C & in the sun shine, the pulp turned to brownish red, whereas the dried chillies in the refrigerator, at room temperature, 40°C, 50°C and 60°C the colour of the pulp were similar to the fresh fruits

    Aril and seeds of "pala wegio" {Myristica fatua Houtt),as one of endemic plants from Moluccas, contained 0.81% and 0.73%essential oils respectively.Gas Chromatography & Mass Spectrometry (GCMS) analyses indicated two similar major components (>10%) in aril and seeds essential oils of "pala wegio", (-) a-Copaene (aril 36.11% & seeds 29.81%) and caryophyllene (aril 18.05% & seeds 34.62%).However, the seeds essential oil had the third major component unindentified with 17.58% content

    Rutaceae is one of the essential oil resources that is very potential for medicinal, perfumery and other use This study was conducted to analyze the essential oil components resulted from water distillation of kalamanjarik leaves (Micromelum minutum), jeruk \epara leaves ILimnocitrus litoralis) and the leaves and the stem bark of malapotung (Evodia qlabra). The results showed the leaves of kalamanjarik contained approximately 0,70%, jeruk jepara 0,21%, malapotung leaves 0,17% and the stem bark contained 0,50 % essential oils. GCMS analyses of the essential oils gave 3 major components of kalamanjarik leaves i.e /J-pinene (24,41%j, bergamiol (23,01%) and nerolidol (18,90%) and 2 major components of jeruk jepara leaves i.e fl-mircene (70.55) and /t-pinene (24,06 %). Essential oil of malapotung leaves consisted of 39,8J% ct-pinene, 14,26 % 1aR(1aa,4a/3,7a,7aa,7ba)decahydro -1,1,7-lrimethyl-4-methylene-1H-cycloprope azulene and 16,62% S-cadinene as major components, while the stem bark had only one major component, u-pinene (68,37 %) The minor components of the four essential oils will be discussed
