Correlation functions of three heavy operators - the AdS contribution
We consider operators in N=4 SYM theory which are dual, at strong coupling,
to classical strings rotating in S^5. Three point correlation functions of such
operators factorize into a universal contribution coming from the AdS part of
the string sigma model and a state-dependent S^5 contribution. Consequently a
similar factorization arises for the OPE coefficients. In this paper we
evaluate the AdS universal factor of the OPE coefficients which is explicitly
expressed just in terms of the anomalous dimensions of the three operators.Comment: 49 pages, 3 figures; v.2 references corrected; v3: corrected

On correlation functions of operators dual to classical spinning string states
We explore how to compute, classically at strong coupling, correlation
functions of local operators corresponding to classical spinning string states.
The picture we obtain is of `fattened' Witten diagrams, the evaluation of which
turns out to be surprisingly subtle and requires a modification of the naive
classical action due to a necessary projection onto appropriate wave functions.
We examine string solutions which compute the simplest case of a two-point
function and reproduce the right scaling with the anomalous dimensions
corresponding to the energies of the associated spinning string solutions. We
also describe, under some simplifying assumptions, how the spacetime dependence
of a conformal three-point correlation function arises in this setup.Comment: 27 pages, 3 figures; v2: references and comments added
Five-loop anomalous dimension at critical wrapping order in N=4 SYM
We compute the anomalous dimension of a length-five operator at five-loop
order in the SU(2) sector of N=4 SYM theory in the planar limit. This is
critical wrapping order at five loops. The result is obtained perturbatively by
means of N=1 superspace techniques. Our result from perturbation theory
confirms explicitly the formula conjectured in arXiv:0901.4864 for the
five-loop anomalous dimension of twist-three operators. We also explicitly
obtain the same result by employing the recently proposed Y-system.Comment: LaTeX, feynmp, 34 pages, 21 figures, 8 table
Quantum finite-size effects for dyonic magnons in the AdS_4 x CP^3
We compute quantum corrections to finite-size effects for various dyonic
giant magnons in the AdS_4 x CP^3 in two different approaches. The off-shell
algebraic curve method is used to quantize the classical string configurations
in semi-classical way and to compute the corrections to the string energies.
These results are compared with the F-term L\"uscher formula based on the
S-matrix of the AdS_4 / CFT_3. The fact that the two results match exactly
provides another stringent test for the all-loop integrability conjecture and
the exact S-matrix based on it.Comment: 21 pages, No figures, corrected typos, added some reference
Finite-gap equations for strings on AdS_3 x S^3 x T^4 with mixed 3-form flux
We study superstrings on AdS_3 x S^3 x T^4 supported by a combination of
Ramond-Ramond and Neveu-Schwarz-Neveu-Schwarz three form fluxes, and construct
a set of finite-gap equations that describe the classical string spectrum.
Using the recently proposed all-loop S-matrix we write down the all-loop Bethe
ansatz equations for the massive sector. In the thermodynamic limit the Bethe
ansatz reproduces the finite-gap equations. As part of this derivation we
propose expressions for the leading order dressing phases. These phases differ
from the well-known Arutyunov-Frolov-Staudacher phase that appears in the pure
Ramond-Ramond case. We also consider the one-loop quantization of the algebraic
curve and determine the one-loop corrections to the dressing phases. Finally we
consider some classical string solutions including finite size giant magnons
and circular strings.Comment: 44 pages, 3 figures. v2: references and a discussion about

Holographic three-point functions of giant gravitons
Working within the AdS/CFT correspondence we calculate the three-point
function of two giant gravitons and one pointlike graviton using methods of
semiclassical string theory and considering both the case where the giant
gravitons wrap an S^3 in S^5 and the case where the giant gravitons wrap an S^3
in AdS_5. We likewise calculate the correlation function in N=4 SYM using two
Schur polynomials and a single trace chiral primary. We find that the gauge and
string theory results have structural similarities but do not match perfectly,
and interpret this in terms of the Schur polynomials' inability to interpolate
between dual giant and pointlike gravitons.Comment: 21 page
On Yangian and Long Representations of the Centrally Extended su(2|2) Superalgebra
The centrally extended su(2|2) superalgebra is an asymptotic symmetry of the
light-cone string sigma model on AdS5 x S5. We consider an evaluation
representation of the conventional Yangian built over a particular
16-dimensional long representation of the centrally extended su(2|2).
Interestingly, we find that S-matrices compatible with this evaluation
representation do not exist. On the other hand, by requiring centrally extended
su(2|2) invariance and explicitly solving the Yang-Baxter equation, we find a
scattering matrix for long-short representations of the Lie superalgebra. We
notice that this S-matrix is invariant under a different representation of
non-evaluation type, induced from the tensor product of short representations.
Our findings concern the conventional Yangian only, and are not applied to
possible algebraic extensions of the latter.Comment: Version accepted for publication in JHE
Scattering of Giant Magnons in CP^3
We study classical scattering phase of CP^2 dyonic giant magnons in R_t x
CP^3. We construct two-soliton solutions explicitly by the dressing method.
Using these solutions, we compute the classical time delays for the scattering
of giant magnons, and compare them to boundstate S-matrix elements derived from
the conjectured AdS_4/CFT_3 S-matrix by Ahn and Nepomechie in the strong
coupling limit. Our result is consistent with the conjectured S-matrix. The
dyonic solutions play an essential role in revealing the polarization
dependence of scattering phase.Comment: 29 pages; v2: minor corrections; v3: minor corrections, references

S-matrix for magnons in the D1-D5 system
We show that integrability and symmetries of the near horizon geometry of the
D1-D5 system determine the S-matrix for the scattering of magnons with
polarizations in AdS3 S3 completely up to a phase. Using
semi-classical methods we evaluate the phase to the leading and to the one-loop
approximation in the strong coupling expansion. We then show that the phase
obeys the unitarity constraint implied by the crossing relations to the
one-loop order. We also verify that the dispersion relation obeyed by these
magnons is one-loop exact at strong coupling which is consistent with their BPS
nature.Comment: 40 pages, Latex, Role of Virasoro constraints clarified, version

From counting to construction of BPS states in N=4 SYM
We describe a universal element in the group algebra of symmetric groups,
whose characters provides the counting of quarter and eighth BPS states at weak
coupling in N=4 SYM, refined according to representations of the global
symmetry group. A related projector acting on the Hilbert space of the free
theory is used to construct the matrix of two-point functions of the states
annihilated by the one-loop dilatation operator, at finite N or in the large N
limit. The matrix is given simply in terms of Clebsch-Gordan coefficients of
symmetric groups and dimensions of U(N) representations. It is expected, by
non-renormalization theorems, to contain observables at strong coupling. Using
the stringy exclusion principle, we interpret a class of its eigenvalues and
eigenvectors in terms of giant gravitons. We also give a formula for the action
of the one-loop dilatation operator on the orthogonal basis of the free theory,
which is manifestly covariant under the global symmetry.Comment: 41 pages + Appendices, 4 figures; v2 - refs and acknowledgments adde
