    Ahmad Tafsir adalah seorang pakar dalam bidang pendidikan, khususnya pendidikan Islami dan sudah banyak menulis karya-karya tentang pendidikan Islami dan filsafat. Ahmad Tafsir cenderung dalam melakukan kajian tentang pendidikan Islami dan filsafat. Penelitian ini dikhususkan pembahasannya kepada konsep pendidikan Islami berdasarkan pemikiran Ahmad Tafsir yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsep pendidikan Islami yang sesuai untuk diterapkan dalam lembaga-lembaga pendidikan Islam khususnya di Indonesia. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kepustakaan (library research) dan metode analisis datanya adalah deskriptif. Dari hasil telaah berbagai bukunya diperoleh penjelasan bahwa Ahmad Tafsir menawarkan suatu konsep pendidikan Islami yang berangkat dari keimanan. Menurut pendapatnya pengertian pendidikan Islami, tujuan pendidikan Islami, kurikulum pendidikan Islami, dan evaluasi Pendidikan Islami harus berlandaskan keimanan kepada Allah SWT. Karena keimanan akan mengantarkan para peserta didik untuk mencapai tujuannya, yaitu menjadi Muslim yang sempurna (Insan Kamil)

    Economic evaluation of chemoprevention of breast cancer with tamoxifen and raloxifene among high-risk women in Japan

    Raloxifene was approved for chemoprevention against breast cancer among high-risk women in addition to tamoxifen by the US Food and Drug Administration. This study aims to evaluate cost-effectiveness of these agents under Japan's health system. A cost-effectiveness analysis with Markov model consisting of eight health states such as healthy, invasive breast cancer, and endometrial cancer is carried out. The model incorporated the findings of National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project P-1 and P-2 trial, and key costs obtained from health insurance claim reviews. Favourable results, that is cost saving or cost-effective, are found by both tamoxifen and raloxifene for the introduction of chemoprevention among extremely high-risk women such as having a history of atypical hyperplasia, a history of lobular carcinoma in situ or a 5-year predicted breast cancer risk of ⩾5.01% starting at younger age, whereas unfavourable results, that is ‘cost more and gain less' or cost-ineffective, are found for women with a 5-year predicted breast cancer risk of ⩽5.00%. Therapeutic policy switch from tamoxifen to raloxifene among postmenopausal women are implied cost-effective. Findings suggest that introduction of chemoprevention targeting extremely high-risk women in Japan can be justifiable as an efficient use of finite health-care resources, possibly contributing to cost containment

    K-Decompositions and 3d Gauge Theories

    This paper combines several new constructions in mathematics and physics. Mathematically, we study framed flat PGL(K,C)-connections on a large class of 3-manifolds M with boundary. We define a space L_K(M) of framed flat connections on the boundary of M that extend to M. Our goal is to understand an open part of L_K(M) as a Lagrangian in the symplectic space of framed flat connections on the boundary, and as a K_2-Lagrangian, meaning that the K_2-avatar of the symplectic form restricts to zero. We construct an open part of L_K(M) from data assigned to a hypersimplicial K-decomposition of an ideal triangulation of M, generalizing Thurston's gluing equations in 3d hyperbolic geometry, and combining them with the cluster coordinates for framed flat PGL(K)-connections on surfaces. Using a canonical map from the complex of configurations of decorated flags to the Bloch complex, we prove that any generic component of L_K(M) is K_2-isotropic if the boundary satisfies some topological constraints (Theorem 4.2). In some cases this implies that L_K(M) is K_2-Lagrangian. For general M, we extend a classic result of Neumann-Zagier on symplectic properties of PGL(2) gluing equations to reduce the K_2-Lagrangian property to a combinatorial claim. Physically, we use the symplectic properties of K-decompositions to construct 3d N=2 superconformal field theories T_K[M] corresponding (conjecturally) to the compactification of K M5-branes on M. This extends known constructions for K=2. Just as for K=2, the theories T_K[M] are described as IR fixed points of abelian Chern-Simons-matter theories. Changes of triangulation (2-3 moves) lead to abelian mirror symmetries that are all generated by the elementary duality between N_f=1 SQED and the XYZ model.     Metabolic Syndrome and Cardiovascular Disease after Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation: Screening and Preventive Practice Recommendations from the CIBMTR and EBMT

    Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a constellation of cardiovascular risk factors that increases the risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus, and all-cause mortality. Long-term survivors of hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) have a substantial risk of developing MetS and cardiovascular disease, with an estimated prevalence of MetS of 31% to 49% among HCT recipients. Although MetS has not yet been proven to impact cardiovascular risk after HCT, an understanding of the incidence and risk factors for MetS in HCT recipients can provide the foundation to evaluate screening guidelines and develop interventions that may mitigate cardiovascular-related mortality. A working group was established through the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research and the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation with the goal to review literature and recommend practices appropriate to HCT recipients. Here we deliver consensus recommendations to help clinicians provide screening and preventive care for MetS and cardiovascular disease among HCT recipients. All HCT survivors should be advised of the risks of MetS and encouraged to undergo recommended screening based on their predisposition and ongoing risk factors

    Lower Respiratory Tract Infection Induced by a Genetically Modified Picornavirus in Its Natural Murine Host

    Infections with the picornavirus, human rhinovirus (HRV), are a major cause of wheezing illnesses and asthma exacerbations. In developing a murine model of picornaviral airway infection, we noted the absence of murine rhinoviruses and that mice are not natural hosts for HRV. The picornavirus, mengovirus, induces lethal systemic infections in its natural murine hosts, but small genetic differences can profoundly affect picornaviral tropism and virulence. We demonstrate that inhalation of a genetically attenuated mengovirus, vMC0, induces lower respiratory tract infections in mice. After intranasal vMC0 inoculation, lung viral titers increased, peaking at 24 h postinoculation with viral shedding persisting for 5 days, whereas HRV-A01a lung viral titers decreased and were undetectable 24 h after intranasal inoculation. Inhalation of vMC0, but not vehicle or UV-inactivated vMC0, induced an acute respiratory illness, with body weight loss and lower airway inflammation, characterized by increased numbers of airway neutrophils and lymphocytes and elevated pulmonary expression of neutrophil chemoattractant CXCR2 ligands (CXCL1, CXCL2, CXCL5) and interleukin-17A. Mice inoculated with vMC0, compared with those inoculated with vehicle or UV-inactivated vMC0, exhibited increased pulmonary expression of interferon (IFN-α, IFN-β, IFN-λ), viral RNA sensors [toll-like receptor (TLR)3, TLR7, nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain containing 2 (NOD2)], and chemokines associated with HRV infection in humans (CXCL10, CCL2). Inhalation of vMC0, but not vehicle or UV-inactivated vMC0, was accompanied by increased airway fluid myeloperoxidase levels, an indicator of neutrophil activation, increased MUC5B gene expression, and lung edema, a sign of infection-related lung injury. Consistent with experimental HRV inoculations of nonallergic, nonasthmatic human subjects, there were no effects on airway hyperresponsiveness after inhalation of vMC0 by healthy mice. This novel murine model of picornaviral airway infection and inflammation should be useful for defining mechanisms of HRV pathogenesis in humans
