Medical ontology for treatment of clinical data from children and youth
The use of information technologies in the field of biomedical data management has grown considerably and is today one of the main fields of use of these technologies. There are several advantages arising either to an individual’s health or to public health, particularly because access to clinical data become available anywhere access via the Internet or individual health card. This card will contain personal data accessible from a terminal card reader, identical to the citizen card. This work focuses on the development of an ontology of universal data structure so that the information is accessible and organized in the same way, regardless of the system that use them. In this context there is the need to incorporate security mechanisms, the respect of ethical principles underlying the management and maintenance of clinical data, ensuring maximum confidentiality.
To develop the proposed ontology, for the treatment of clinical data of children and youth is used as reference bulletin health in Portugal. Using this structure, it follows the clear and unambiguous identification of the fields required for registration of clinical information, standardized in a relational model. To ensure the confidentiality of data, identification of the individual is only the number of national health system and are not recorded on the card personal data such as name, address or contact forms
Gravity duals to deformed SYM theories and Generalized Complex Geometry
We analyze the supersymmetry conditions for a class of SU(2) structure
backgrounds of Type IIB supergravity, corresponding to a specific ansatz for
the supersymmetry parameters. These backgrounds are relevant for the AdS/CFT
correspondence since they are suitable to describe mass deformations or
beta-deformations of four-dimensional superconformal gauge theories. Using
Generalized Complex Geometry we show that these geometries are characterized by
a closed nowhere-vanishing vector field and a modified fundamental form which
is also closed. The vector field encodes the information about the
superpotential and the type of deformation - mass or beta respectively. We also
show that the Pilch-Warner solution dual to a mass-deformation of N =4 Super
Yang-Mills and the Lunin-Maldacena beta-deformation of the same background fall
in our class of solutions.Comment: LaTex, 29 page
Towards reduction of type II theories on SU(3) structure manifolds
We revisit the reduction of type II supergravity on SU(3) structure
manifolds, conjectured to lead to gauged N=2 supergravity in 4 dimensions. The
reduction proceeds by expanding the invariant 2- and 3-forms of the SU(3)
structure as well as the gauge potentials of the type II theory in the same set
of forms, the analogues of harmonic forms in the case of Calabi-Yau reductions.
By focussing on the metric sector, we arrive at a list of constraints these
expansion forms should satisfy to yield a base point independent reduction.
Identifying these constraints is a first step towards a first-principles
reduction of type II on SU(3) structure manifolds.Comment: 20 pages; v2: condition (2.13old) on expansion forms weakened,

T-duality, Generalized Geometry and Non-Geometric Backgrounds
We discuss the action of O(d,d), and in particular T-duality, in the context
of generalized geometry, focusing on the description of so-called non-geometric
backgrounds. We derive local expressions for the pure spinors descibing the
generalized geometry dual to an SU(3) structure background, and show that the
equations for N=1 vacua are invariant under T-duality. We also propose a local
generalized geometrical definition of the charges f, H, Q and R appearing in
effective four-dimensional theories, using the Courant bracket. We then address
certain global aspects, in particular whether the local non-geometric charges
can be gauged away in, for instance, backgrounds admitting a torus action, as
well as the structure of generalized parallelizable backgrounds.Comment: 33 page
Status of GPCR modeling and docking as reflected by community-wide GPCR Dock 2010 assessment
The community-wide GPCR Dock assessment is conducted to evaluate the status of molecular modeling and ligand docking for human G protein-coupled receptors. The present round of the assessment was based on the recent structures of dopamine D3 and CXCR4 chemokine receptors bound to small molecule antagonists and CXCR4 with a synthetic cyclopeptide. Thirty-five groups submitted their receptor-ligand complex structure predictions prior to the release of the crystallographic coordinates. With closely related homology modeling templates, as for dopamine D3 receptor, and with incorporation of biochemical and QSAR data, modern computational techniques predicted complex details with accuracy approaching experimental. In contrast, CXCR4 complexes that had less-characterized interactions and only distant homology to the known GPCR structures still remained very challenging. The assessment results provide guidance for modeling and crystallographic communities in method development and target selection for further expansion of the structural coverage of the GPCR universe. © 2011 Elsevier Ltd.
