A new measurement of direct CP violation in two pion decays of the neutral kaon

    Get PDF
The NA48 experiment at CERN has performed a new measurement of direct CP violation, based on data taken in 1997 by simultaneously collecting K_L and K_S decays into pi0pi0 and pi+pi-. The result for the CP violating parameter Re(epsilon'/epsilon) is (18.5 +/- 4.5(stat)} +/- 5.8 (syst))x10^{-4}.Comment: 18 pages, 6 figure

Measurement of the quadratic slope parameter in the K-L -> 3 pi(0) decay Dalitz plot

    Get PDF
A value of (6.1±0.9stat±0.5syst)×103(-6.1\pm 0.9_{stat}\pm 0.5_{syst}) \times 10^{-3} is obtained for the quadratic slope parameter hh in the KL3π0K_{L}\rightarrow 3\pi^{0} decay Dalitz plot at the NA48 experiment at the CERN SPS. The result is based on 14.7×10614.7\times 10^{6} fully reconstructed KL3π06γK_{L}\rightarrow 3\pi^{0} \rightarrow 6\gamma decays. This is the most precise measurement of any of the Dalitz plot slope parameters in the charged and neutral kaon decays so far
