Helicity amplitudes and electromagnetic decays of hyperon resonances
We present results for the helicity amplitudes of the lowest-lying hyperon
resonances Y*, computed within the framework of the Bonn constituent-quark
model, which is based on the Bethe-Salpeter approach. The seven parameters
entering the model were fitted to the best known baryon masses. Accordingly,
the results for the helicity amplitudes are genuine predictions. Some hyperon
resonances are seen to couple more strongly to a virtual photon with finite Q^2
than to a real photon. Other Y*'s, such as the S_{01}(1670) Lambda resonance or
the S_{11}(1620) Sigma resonance, couple very strongly to real photons. We
present a qualitative argument for predicting the behaviour of the helicity
asymmetries of baryon resonances at high Q^2.Comment: 20 pages, 26 figures, uses svjour.cls style, submitted to the

Electromagnetic N->Delta transition and neutron form factors
The C2/M1 ratio of the electromagnetic N->Delta(1232) transition, which is
important for determining the geometric shape of the nucleon, is shown to be
related to the neutron elastic form factor ratio G_C^n/G_M^n. The proposed
relation holds with good accuracy for the entire range of momentum transfers

Electroexcitation of the P33(1232), P11(1440), D13(1520), S11(1535) at Q^2=0.4 and 0.65(GeV/c)^2
Using two approaches: dispersion relations and isobar model, we have analyzed
recent high precision CLAS data on cross sections of \pi^0, \pi^+, and \eta
electroproduction on protons, and the longitudinally polarized electron beam
asymmetry for p(\vec{e},e'p)\pi^0 and p(\vec{e},e'n)\pi^+. The contributions of
the resonances P33(1232), P11(1440), D13(1520), S11(1535) to \pi
electroproduction and S11(1535) to \eta electroproduction are found. The
results obtained in the two approaches are in good agreement with each other.
There is also good agreement between amplitudes of the \gamma^* N \to S11(1535)
transition found in \pi and \eta electroproduction. For the first time accurate
results are obtained for the longitudinal amplitudes of the P11(1440),
D13(1520) and S11(1535) electroexcitation on protons.Comment: 9 pages, 9 figure
Baryon Current Matrix Elements in a Light-Front Framework
Current matrix elements and observables for electro- and photo-excitation of
baryons from the nucleon are studied in a light-front framework. Relativistic
effects are estimated by comparison to a nonrelativistic model, where we use
simple basis states to represent the baryon wavefunctions. Sizeable
relativistic effects are found for certain transitions, for example, to radial
excitations such as that conventionally used to describe to the Roper
resonance. A systematic study shows that the violation of rotational covariance
of the baryon transition matrix elements stemming from the use of one-body

Test of OPE and OGE through mixing angles of negative parity N* resonances in electromagnetic transitions
In this report, by using the mixing angles of one-gluon-exchange model(OGE)
and one-pion-exchange model(OPE), and by using the electromagnetic Hamiltonian
of Close and Li, we calculate the amplitudes of L=1 N* resonances for
photoproduction and electroproduction. The results are compared to experimental

Photo- and Electroproduction of Eta Mesons
Eta photo- and electroproduction off the nucleon is investigated in an
effective lagrangian approach that contains Born terms and both vector meson
and nucleon resonance contributions. In particular, we review and develop the
formalism for coincidence experiments with polarization degrees of freedom. The
different response functions appearing in single and double polarization
experiments have been studied. We will present calculations for structure
functions and kinematical conditions that are most sensitive to details of the
lagrangian, in particular with regard to contributions of nucleon resonances

The nature of the Lambda(1405)
We present here some results supporting the nature of the
resonance as dynamically generated from the meson baryon interaction in coupled
channels and resulting from the superposition of two close-by poles. We find
support for this picture in the reaction,
which shows a different shape than the one obtained from the reaction. We also call the attention to the with in the region, which shows a narrow
peak in the calculations around 1420 MeV. We also report on recent calculations
of the radiative decay of the two states and on reactions to
obtain information on these decay modes. Finally, we present results for the
reaction recently measured at ANKE/COSY and compare

Approach to Perturbative Results in the N-Delta Transition
We show that constraints from perturbative QCD calculations play a role in
the nucleon to Delta(1232) electromagnetic transition even at moderate momentum
transfer scales. The pQCD constraints, tied to real photoproduction data and
unseparated resonance response functions, lead to explicit forms for the
helicity amplitudes wherein the E2/M1 ratio remains small at moderately large

Proton polarizability effect in the Lamb shift of the hydrogen atom
The proton polarizability correction to the Lamb shift of electronic and
muonic hydrogen is calculated on the basis of isobar model and experimental
data on the structure functions of deep inelastic lepton-nucleon scattering.
The contributions of the Born terms, vector-meson exchanges and nucleon
resonances are taken into account in the construction of the photoabsorption
cross sections for transversely and longitudinally polarized virtual photons

Effective Lagrangian Approach to the Theory of Eta Photoproduction in the Region
We investigate eta photoproduction in the resonance region
within the effective Lagrangian approach (ELA), wherein leading contributions
to the amplitude at the tree level are taken into account. These include the
nucleon Born terms and the leading -channel vector meson exchanges as the
non-resonant pieces. In addition, we consider five resonance contributions in
the - and - channel; besides the dominant , these are:
and . The amplitudes for the
and the photoproduction near threshold have significant
differences, even as they share common contributions, such as those of the
nucleon Born terms. Among these differences, the contribution to the
photoproduction of the -channel excitation of the is the most
significant. We find the off-shell properties of the spin-3/2 resonances to be
important in determining the background contributions. Fitting our effective
amplitude to the available data base allows us to extract the quantity
, characteristic of the
photoexcitation of the resonance and its decay into the
-nucleon channel, of interest to precise tests of hadron models. At the
photon point, we determine it to be from
the old data base, and from a
combination of old data base and new Bates data. We obtain the helicity
amplitude for to be from the old data base, and from the combination of the old data base and new Bates
data, compared with the results of the analysis of pion photoproduction
