Why should individuals that have exited their firm consider re-entering into entrepreneurship, i.e. become renascent entrepreneurs? According to the logic of economic models of firm dynamics there is no reason to re-enter into entrepreneurship following termination of a previous firm. In contrast, research on nascent entrepreneurship has shown the positive effect of entrepreneurial experience on planning a new firm start. Based on the empirical evidence from a database consisting of ex-entrepreneurs, this study shows that renascent entrepreneurship is a pervasive phenomenon in current society. Especially entrepreneurial human and social capital induce renascent entrepreneurship. Can secondary information inform about population trends of carnivores in Borneo?

Effective methods for estimating occurrence and abundance of carnivores are limited and often expensive in labour or equipment. Conducting interviews about wildlife species, including carnivores, is a common tool used in Borneo and throughout Southeast Asia to investigate species distribution and understand their conservation status. Such surveys are appealing because of perceived savings in time and equipment; however, biases in amount of available information, miscommunications about species of interest, and species misidentifi cation can result in errors of unknown magnitude, rendering results of at least some surveys suspect. Hence, it becomes diffi cult to disentangle accurate from inaccurate information. Studies are needed to investigate the variation in effectiveness of interview surveys. Also better guidance is needed to clarify under which conditions secondary surveys can be used with confi dence, and for which particular audience. Until the factors that bias results are identifi ed and, where possible, accounted for, the main use of secondary surveys for carnivores and other diffi cult to identify or rarely encountered species will be to help develop a dialogue between people that reside or work in conservation project areas and the investigators working on such projects. Secondary surveys may also serve as a tool to help identify hypotheses to be addressed in studies with strong experimental designs

The Impact of Multi-Level Governance on Energy Performance in the Current Dutch Housing Stock \ud

The housing sector is responsible for 33% of total CO2 emissions in the Netherlands. As such, large reductions in CO2 emissions can be gained by increasing the energy performance in the existing housing stock. Yet, several barriers make this difficult. Renovation investments and maintenance costs are high while badly needed norms for energy improvement are absent. Furthermore, market developments and sectoral policies reflect a complex institutional environment in which many actors are interdependent, but also lack an individual sense of urgency regarding energy consumption. In this article, we try to determine how multi-level governance in Dutch housing affects the outcomes of policies aimed at CO2-reduction in the existing housing stock. We examined two housing sectors in the Netherlands: social housing and owner occupancy. We focus on policy implementation problems in the early 2000s. It turns out that the complex multi-level environment severely impedes the realization of ambitious policy goals.\ud \u
