Crossover from diffusive to strongly localized regime in two-dimensional systems

We have studied the conductance distribution function of two-dimensional disordered noninteracting systems in the crossover regime between the diffusive and the localized phases. The distribution is entirely determined by the mean conductance, g, in agreement with the strong version of the single-parameter scaling hypothesis. The distribution seems to change drastically at a critical value very close to one. For conductances larger than this critical value, the distribution is roughly Gaussian while for smaller values it resembles a log-normal distribution. The two distributions match at the critical point with an often appreciable change in behavior. This matching implies a jump in the first derivative of the distribution which does not seem to disappear as system size increases. We have also studied 1/g corrections to the skewness to quantify the deviation of the distribution from a Gaussian function in the diffusive regime.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure

Melaminium 2,4,6-trihydroxy­benzoate dihydrate

In the title compound, C3H7N6 +·C7H5O5 −·2H2O, the melaminium and benzoate ions are approximately planar (r.m.s. deviation of the non-hydrogen atoms is 0.093 Å) and there is a strong C 2 2(8) hydrogen-bonding embrace between them. The centre of symmetry generates a second acid–base pair which is bound to the first by a C 2 2(8) (N—H⋯N) embrace common between melamine mol­ecules in similar compounds. Further extensive hydrogen bonding assembles the components into a three-dimensional hydrogen-bonded network

Socio-economic impact of cluster marketing: The case of Ned Landcare Association sweet pepper cluster

Through clustering, opportunities exist for smallholder farmers to organize their output and to sell directly to institutional markets. This paper analyses the experiences of the cluster marketing approach in Barangay Ned, Lake Sebu, South Cotabato. The case demonstrates how farmers in the cluster group developed an enterprise plan, established linkages with a microfinance institution and negotiated sales to downstream market intermediaries. Farmers in the cluster increased their technical and marketing knowledge, improved their farming and marketing practices, improved their access to capital and increased their income. Trust, confidence, commitment and unity among cluster members were established through the cluster marketing approach
