Modeling of Human Head Surface by Using Triangular B-Splines

    Get PDF
The paper deals with modeling of human head surface on the basis of quadratic triangular B-splines for the standard videocodec MPEG-4 SNHC. First, we define a triangular B-spline surface of any degree and then we present its calculation for modeling of the quadratic form. Next, we apply the quadratic triangular B-splines on modeling of the human head surface using 3D polygonal model Candide 3-1-6. For allocation of knots belonging to vertices of triangulation of the model, the limiting conditions are specified in the method of Monte-Carlo used for their generation. To achieve smoothness of the modeled human head surface, we propose an algorithm for calculating control points. Then for the proposed net of control points as well as the allocation of knots, the results of the modeled human head surface and its textured version using a texture of selected avatar are presented

Perceived Outcomes of Participation in Synergetic Leisure Programs

    Get PDF
This paper examined the phenomenon of business sponsorship of leisure or recreational activities. Specifically, it determined the importance of and rank ordered program outcomes as perceived by directors of local municipal park and recreation agencies in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland who have hosted two or more nationwide, business funded, leisure activities. From this pilot study, it appeared that the leisure service director\u27s reported that they participated in these programs in order to expand their departmental leisure offerings with an innovative program that gave participants intrinsic rewards, varied leisure experiences and an opportunity to develop new leisure activities and improve social skills. Concern for the administrative benefits to the host department, while important, were secondary to the provision of creative leisure activities for participants

Texturing of Surface of 3D Human Head Model

    Get PDF
The paper deals with an algorithm of texturing of the surface of 3D human head model. The proposed algorithm generates a texture consequently of several camera frames of the input video sequence. The texture values from the camera frames are mapped on the surface of the 3D human head model using perspective projection, scan line and 3D motion estimation. To decrease the number of camera frames a filling of empty places by a simple interpolation method has been done in the texture plane

3D Motion Estimation of Human Head by Using Optical Flow

The paper deals with the new algorithm of estimation of large 3D motion of the human head by using the optical flow and the model Candide. In the algorithm prediction of 3D motion parameters in a feedback loop and with multiple iterations was applied. The prediction of 3D motion parameters does not require creating of the synthesized frames but directly uses the frames of input videosequence. Next the algorithm does not need extracting of feature points inside the frames because they are given by the vertices of the used calibrated model Candide. As achieved experimental results show, the iteration process in prediction of 3D motion parameters increased the accuracy of estimation above all the large 3D motion. Such a way the estimation error is decreased without its accumulation in long videosequence. Finally the experimental results show that for 3 iterations a state of saturation was achieved what means that by next increasing of the number of iterations practically no significant increasing of the accuracy of estimation of 3D motion parameters is occurred

Animation of 3D Model of Human Head

The paper deals with the new algorithm of animation of 3D model of the human head in combination with its global motion. The designed algorithm is very fast and with low calculation requirements, because it does not need the synthesis of the input videosequence for estimation of the animation parameters as well as the parameters of global motion. The used 3D model Candide generates different expressions using its animation units which are controlled by the animation parameters. These ones are estimated on the basis of optical flow without the need of extracting of the feature points in the frames of the input videosequence because they are given by the selected vertices of the animation units of the calibrated 3D model Candide. The established multiple iterations inside the designed animation algorithm of 3D model of the human head between two successive frames significantly improved its accuracy above all for the large motion

Superconductivity in the YIr2Si2 and LaIr2Si2 Polymorphs

We report on existence of superconductivity in YIr2Si2 and LaIr2Si2 compounds in relation to crystal structure. The two compounds crystallize in two structural polymorphs, both tetragonal. The high temperature polymorph (HTP) adopts the CaBe2Ge2-structure type (space group P4/nmm) while the low temperature polymorph (LTP) is of the ThCr2Si2 type (I4/mmm). By studying polycrystals prepared by arc melting we have observed that the rapidly cooled samples retain the HTP even at room temperature (RT) and below. Annealing such samples at 900C followed by slow cooling to RT provides the LTP. Both, the HTP and LTP were subsequently studied with respect to magnetism and superconductivity by electrical resistivity, magnetization, AC susceptibility and specific heat measurements. The HTP and LTP of both compounds respectively, behave as Pauli paramagnets. Superconductivity has been found exclusively in the HTP of both compounds below Tsc (= 2.52 K in YIr2Si2 and 1.24 K in LaIr2Si2). The relations of magnetism and superconductivity with the electronic and crystal structure are discussed with comparing experimental data with the results of first principles electronic structure calculations

Perceived Similarity and Relationship Success among Dating Couples: An Idiographic Approach

    Get PDF
This study utilized an idiographic approach to investigate the relation between similarity on valued characteristics and relationship success. College students (N = 247) rated their current romantic partner on perceived similarity in personality, attitudes, interests, and religious affiliation; the importance of similarity in these dimensions; and relationship satisfaction. Relationship status was assessed 6 weeks later. Results revealed significant similarity by importance interactions for religion and interests in predicting satisfaction. Participants with high perceived similarity in religion or interests reported greater satisfaction than did their low similarity counterparts, but only to the extent that they rated this type of similarity as being important to them. Similar results were found for attitudes in predicting Time 2 outcomes

    Magnetic Properties of NdFe0.9Mn0.1O3

In our paper we study effect of Mn for Fe substitution on magnetic properties of NdFex-1MnxO3 compounds for x = 0 and 0.1, which have been grown by the OFZ technique. The Neel temperature decreases from T-N1 = 691 K to T-N1 = 621 K, and the anomaly in AC susceptibility, related to spin reorientation, vanishes with Mn substitution. Low temperature heat capacity measurement for sample with x = 0.1 revealed that substitution of Mn for Fe shifts a Schottky-type anomaly at T-sh to higher temperatures. Another anomaly is generated by doping at T-max = 11 K. The anomaly is smeared out by magnetic field, confirming its magnetic origin.15th Czech and Slovak Conference on Magnetism (CSMAG), Jun 17-21, 2013, Kosice, Slovaki
