The Nearest Group of Galaxies
The small Antlia-Sextans clustering of galaxies is located at a distance of
only 1.36 Mpc from the Sun, and 1.72 Mpc from the adopted barycenter of the
Local Group. The latter value is significantly greater than the radius of the
zero- velocity surface of the Local Group which, for an assumed age of 14 Gyr,
has Ro = 1.18 " 0.15 Mpc. This, together with the observation that the members
of the Ant-Sex group have a mean redshift of +114 " 12 km s-1 relative to the
centroid of the Local Group, suggests that the Antlia-Sextans group is not
bound to our Local Group, and that it is expanding with the Hubble flow. If
this conclusion is correct, then Antlia-Sextans may be the nearest external
clustering of galaxies. The total galaxian population of the Ant-Sex group is ~
1/5 that of the Local Group. However, the integrated luminosity of Ant-Sex is
two orders of magnitude lower than that of the Local Group.

From Quasars to Extraordinary N-body Problems
We outline reasoning that led to the current theory of quasars and look at
George Contopoulos's place in the long history of the N-body problem. Following
Newton we find new exactly soluble N-body problems with multibody forces and
give a strange eternally pulsating system that in its other degrees of freedom

Statistical theory of quasi stationary states beyond the single water-bag case study
An analytical solution for the out-of-equilibrium quasi-stationary states of
the paradigmatic Hamiltonian Mean Field (HMF) model can be obtained from a
maximum entropy principle. The theory has been so far tested with reference to
a specific class of initial condition, the so called (single-level) water-bag
type. In this paper a step forward is taken by considering an arbitrary number
of overlapping water bags. The theory is benchmarked to direct microcanonical
simulations performed for the case of a two-levels water-bag. The comparison is
shown to return an excellent agreement
Electromagnetic Magic: The Relativistically Rotating Disk
A closed form analytic solution is found for the electromagnetic field of the
charged uniformly rotating conducting disk for all values of the tip speed
up to . For it becomes the Magic field of the Kerr-Newman black hole
with set to zero.
The field energy, field angular momentum and gyromagnetic ratio are
calculated and compared with those of the electron.
A new mathematical expression that sums products of 3 Legendre functions each

On Fast Linear Gravitational Dragging
A new formula is given for the fast linear gravitational dragging of the
inertial frame within a rapidly accelerated spherical shell of deep potential.
The shell is charged and is electrically accelerated by an electric field whose

Do Rotations Beyond the Cosmological Horizon Affect the Local Inertial Frame?
If perturbations beyond the horizon have the velocities prescribed everywhere
then the dragging of inertial frames near the origin is suppressed by an
exponential factor. However if perturbations are prescribed in terms of their
angular momenta there is no such suppression.
We resolve this paradox and in doing so give new explicit results on the
dragging of inertial frames in closed, flat and open universe with and without
