    The Influence of Chromophore Structure on Intermolecular Interactions. A Study of Selected Rhodamines in Polar Protic and Aprotic Solvents

    We have studied the linear optical response and orientational relaxation dynamics of a family of rhodamine dyes in which there is substantial variation in the chromophore structure. For these chromophores, the identity of a substituent at the center ring (1) position mediates the linear optical response of the chromophore, and semiempirical calculations provide agreement with experimental data. This phenomenon can be understood in terms of the extent of conjugation of the chromophore ring system. The reorientation data for these chromophores in several polar protic and aprotic solvents are nominally consistent with the predictions of the modified Debye-Stokes-Einstein (DSE) model. In several cases, polar aprotic solvents are found to interact more strongly than polar aprotic solvents with the rhodamine chromophores, despite the difference in the nature of intermolecular interactions in the two types of solvents. The terminal amino functionalities on the rhodamines exhibit stronger interactions with protic solvents than the analogous chromophores that have been structurally modified to constrain amino group rotation. The data point to the importance of both sitespecific solvent-solute interactions and dipole-dipole interactions in mediating the solution phase dynamics of rhodamines

    Defense-through-Deception Network Security Model: Securing University Campus Network from DOS/DDOS Attack

    Denial of Service (DOS) and (DDOS) Distributed Denial of Service attacks have become a major security threat to university campus network security since most of the students and teachers prepare online services such as enrolment, grading system, library etc. Therefore, the issue of network security has become a priority to university campus network management. Using online services in university network can be easily compromised. However, traditional security mechanisms approach such as Defense-In-Depth (DID) Model is outdated in today’s complex network and DID Model has been used as a primary cybersecurity defense model in the university campus network today. However, university administration should realize that Defense-In-Depth (DID) are playing an increasingly limited role in DOS/DDoS protection and this paper brings this fact to light. This paper presents that the Defense-In-Depth (DID) is not capable of defending complex and volatile DOS/DDOS attacks effectively. The test results were presented in this study in order to support our claim. The researchers established a Defense-In-Depth (DID) Network model at the Central Luzon State University and penetrated the Network System using DOS/DDOS attack to simulate the real network scenario. This paper also presents the new approach Defense-through-Deception network security model that improves the traditional passive protection by applying deception techniques to them that give insights into the limitations posed by the Defense-In-Depth (DID) Model. Furthermore, this model is designed to prevent an attacker who has already entered the network from doing damage

    Correlation Between Body Weight Day Old Chick (DOC) and Body Weight Each Week from Commercial Farms in Province of Rizal, Philippines

    Farmers of the poultry industry are seeking new and more efficient techniques to produce broilers more quickly, without sacrificing quality, nutrition, or cost, as the demand for poultry rises in conjunction with the human population. This study analyzed the weight of broilers from day 1 to harvest day to determine the impact of each daily or weekly weight on the final weight of the broilers. The experiment was conducted in a conventional type of housing. One hundred thousand male Cobb strain day-old chicks were housed. The feed of the chicks consisted of commercially blended feeds including CP and BMEG, as well as vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, in accordance with nutritional needs. The study examined the relationship between the day-old chick’s weight and the flock’s weekly weight and discovered that there is no correlation between the day-old chick’s weight and its weekly weight at days 7, 14, 21, 28, and 35 (harvest weight). However, the weight at the 7-day mark had the greatest effect on the potential market weight of the broiler. It can be determined that the early life of chickens plays a crucial role in their productivity

    Spin-canting driven Weyl physics in EuCd2_2As2_2

    Though rare, magnetic Weyl semi-metals stand as the best platform to study elusive Weyl physics as they can host the minimal allowable number of Weyl points. Here we present neutron diffraction and density functional theory work elucidating the magnetic structure realized in the candidate magnetic Weyl semi-metal EuCd2_2As2_2 . Our work shows an unanticipated magnetic structure (magnetic space group C2′/m′C2'/m') with an in-plane [210] moment direction and a slight out-of-plane canting. This canted structure indicates that subtle tuning (rather than a phase transition) may be able to stabilize the sought c-polarized state. Our density functional theory work shows that though Weyl physics should exist for a purely in-plane [210] structure, even a slight canting drastically alters the relevant bands leading to well defined Weyl points. Furthermore, we find that relative to the \textit{c}-polarized state the [210] order with a small canting brings the Weyl points closer to the Fermi level and thus may lead to clearer signatures of the Weyl physics.Comment: 7 pages, 4 figure

    Assessment of Quipper as Learning Management System of Saint Paul University Surigao

    ABSTRACT: A school learning management system (LMS) is extremely important in the current educational landscape since it transforms how educational institutions administer and deliver their courses. LMS gives educators a strong platform to produce, organize, and distribute instructional content while enabling students to access resources, participate in interactive learning activities, and collaborate with peers by seamlessly integrating technology into the learning process. This study was conducted to assess the level of utilization, level of satisfaction, and level of effectiveness with Quipper as an LMS in Saint Paul University Surigao (SPUS), Surigao City, Philippines. The research design was quantitative, and researchers used a survey questionnaire to gather data from the college faculty of SPUS during the academic year 2022-2023. To ensure reliable results, 33 college teachers were purposefully and conveniently chosen as respondents. The data were analyzed using various parametric and non-parametric statistical tools considering the normality of the data. The study revealed that variables such as sex, age, department, highest educational attainment, and years of teaching experience did not significantly impact Quipper's utilization and satisfaction among teachers. The profile of college faculty members also did not significantly affect Quipper's effectiveness as a learning management system. However, the department variable significantly influenced Quipper's performance, with frequent utilization leading to higher satisfaction and effectiveness. Overall, Quipper was widely used, effective, and met the needs of the college faculty at SPUS. The study suggested room for improvement, and the administration could establish clear implementation goals, offer incentives to consistent users, provide proper training and guidance, and encourage teachers to explore more features to better support students' learning
