Solutions to the Jaynes-Cummings model without the rotating-wave approximation
By using extended bosonic coherent states, the solution to the
Jaynes-Cummings model without the rotating-wave approximation can be mapped to
that of a polynomial equation with a single variable. The solutions to this
polynomial equation can give all eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of this model
with all values of the coupling strength and the detuning exactly, which can be
readily applied to recent circuit quantum electrodynamic systems operating in
the ultra-strong coupling regime.Comment: 6 pages,3 figure
Developing and utilizing an Euler computational method for predicting the airframe/propulsion effects for an aft-mounted turboprop transport. Volume 2: User guide
This manual explains how to use an Euler based computational method for predicting the airframe/propulsion integration effects for an aft-mounted turboprop transport. The propeller power effects are simulated by the actuator disk concept. This method consists of global flow field analysis and the embedded flow solution for predicting the detailed flow characteristics in the local vicinity of an aft-mounted propfan engine. The computational procedure includes the use of several computer programs performing four main functions: grid generation, Euler solution, grid embedding, and streamline tracing. This user's guide provides information for these programs, including input data preparations with sample input decks, output descriptions, and sample Unix scripts for program execution in the UNICOS environment
Non-Hermitian coherent coupling of nanomagnets by exchange spin waves
Non-Hermitian physics has recently attracted much attention in optics and
photonics. Less explored is non-Hermitian magnonics that provides opportunities
to take advantage of the inevitable dissipation of magnons or spin waves in
magnetic systems. Here we demonstrate non-Hermitian coherent coupling of two
distant nanomagnets by fast spin waves with sub-50 nm wavelengths. Magnons in
two nanomagnets are unidirectionally phase-locked with phase shifts controlled
by magnon spin torque and spin-wave propagation. Our results are attractive for
analog neuromorphic computing that requires unidirectional information

Non-Markovian effect on the quantum discord
We study the non-Markovian effect on the dynamics of the quantum discord by
exactly solving a model consisting of two independent qubits subject to two
zero-temperature non-Markovian reservoirs, respectively. Considering the two
qubits initially prepared in Bell-like or extended Werner-like states, we show
that there is no occurrence of the sudden death, but only instantaneous
disappearance of the quantum discord at some time points, in comparison to the
entanglement sudden death in the same range of the parameters of interest. It
implies that the quantum discord is more useful than the entanglement to
describe quantum correlation involved in quantum systems.Comment: 5 pages, 5 figure
