    The trials on the influence of knapsack sprayer technical condition on operator exposure as an input to the risk assessment for human health

    Operator exposure to spray applied with knapsack sprayers was measured in the open field during the spraying of the low, medium and high plants (strawberries, young apple orchard and bearing fruits one). The samples were attached to the protective clothes in 13 locations. The BSF fluorescent tracer was added to the spray. The operator exposure was expressed as the part of the dose applied (ppm). The data on operator exposure was used to predict the risk for operator. The risk for humans was done by computer modeling according to German BBA model, taking into account field data for different sprayer technical conditions and 15 different pesticides. The most important influence of the sprayer technical condition on the operator exposition and the human health risk was observed for high crops

    The article presents the results of microscopic analyses of shear bands of carbonate rocks subjected to triaxial compression. Strength tests were performed in axisymmetric loading conditions, at various confining pressures and strain rates. The layout and nature of phenomena occurring in shear bands at various strain rate loading conditions were analysed under the microscope on thin rock sections of damaged samples. The principal part of the study involves identification of damage types in shear bands, which mainly depend on the rock deformation rate and petrography. Also, quantitative analysis of particular types of damage in shear bands was performed and their dependence on the mechanical tests conditions. The last item discussed in this article is the quantitative analysis of the width of shear bands at various loading conditions.W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki analiz mikroskopowych pasm 艣cinania pr贸bek ska艂 w臋glanowych poddanych tr贸josiowemu 艣ciskaniu. Testy wytrzyma艂o艣ciowe przeprowadzono w osiowo symetrycznym stanie obci膮偶enia, przy r贸偶nych ci艣nieniach ok贸lnych oraz pr臋dko艣ciach obci膮偶enia. Zniszczone pr贸bki by艂y przedmiotem analiz mikroskopowych na szlifach skalnych. Badano uk艂ad i charakter zjawisk wyst臋puj膮cych w pasmach 艣cinania przy r贸偶nych warunkach obci膮偶enia. Zasadnicz膮 cz臋艣膰 pracy stanowi identyfikacja typ贸w zniszczenia w pasmach 艣cinania, zale偶nych w g艂贸wnej mierze od pr臋dko艣ci odkszta艂cenia i petrografii ska艂y. Przeprowadzono r贸wnie偶 ilo艣ciow膮 analiz臋 udzia艂u poszczeg贸lnych typ贸w zniszczenia w pasmach 艣cinania oraz ich zale偶no艣膰 od charakteru obci膮偶e艅 mechanicznych.
