Composite structure of vortices in two-component Bose-Einstein condensate
In contrast to one-component Bose-Einstein condensate case, the vortices in
two-component condensate can have various complicated structures. The vortices
in a space-homogeneous Bose-Einstein condensate have been studied in this
paper. It is shown that the vortex structure is described by three
dimensionless parameters. This is totally different from the usual
one-component condensate case, where an isolated vortex is described by a
parameter-less dimensionless equation. The two-component vortex structure
strongly depends on the sign of "interaction" constant of the components. A few
types of vortices with different qualitative structure are explored. We show
that the super-density vortices can exist, when the "interaction" constant is
positive. The super-density vortices have the near-axis density greater than
the equilibrium density of a homogeneous space Bose-Einstein condensate. We
also show that the vortices with opposite direction of the condensate component
rotation near the axis and far off the axis can exist.Comment: LaTeX, 13 pages, 4 figures, UJP styl
Microscopic description of relaxation of impurity magnetic atoms in spiral magnetics
Kinetics of the impurity magnetic atoms in spiral magnetic is researched. The spectrum of the excitations of the impurity spin is obtained in approximation of weakly coupling. The equation for impurity density matrix up to second order of the perturbation theory is obtained. For impurity spin s=1/2 the kinetic coefficients in terms of correlation functions are found
Modulation instability in two component Bose-Einstein condensate with relative component motion
The development of modulation instability in a spatially homogeneous two-component Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC), in which the interacting components move through each other at a relative speed, is investigated. It is shown that nonlinear dynamics, leading to modulation instability, is determined by both the values of the constant interaction and the relative velocity between the components. The maximum oscillation increment is found and the limits of the existence of modulation instability in the space of wave numbers are determined.

Nonlocal effect influence on the vortex filament structure in Bose-gas
Using the Gross-Pitaevskii equation (GPE), which accounts for a weak non-locality effects, we study the structure of the vortex filaments in a Bose-gas. We show that the sign of the additional terms in the generalized GPE depends on the form of the interaction potential and can be positive or negative. The generalized GPE for a single vortex is solved numerically. It is demonstrated that the non-locality can cause either an increase or a decrease of the vortex core radius.
On equilibrium states of superfluid with d-wave pairing
The equilibrium states of quantum fluid with d-pairing classification is carried out on the basis of the quasiaverages concept. It is shown, that the set of such an equilibrium states can be classified in the terms of the orbital momentum quantum number, relevant to the projection of the orbital momentum of the superconducting electron pair on an anisotropy direction. The explicit expression of three admissible unbroken symmetry generators and relevant order parameter equilibrium values are found
Calcium Signaling Initiated by Agonists in Mesenchymal Stromal Cells from the Human Adipose Tissue
Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) from different sources represent a heterogeneous population of proliferating non-differentiated cells that contain multipotent stem cells capable of originating a variety of mesenchymal cell lineages. By using Ca2+ imaging and the Ca2+ dye Fluo-4, we studied MSCs from the human adipose tissue and examined Ca2+ signaling initiated by a variety of GPCR ligands, focusing primarily on adrenergic and purinergic agonists. Being characterized by a relative change of Fluo-4 fluorescence, agonist-induced Ca2+ responses were generated in an “all-or-nothing” fashion. Specifically, at relatively low doses, agonists elicited undetectable responses but initiated quite similar Ca2+ transients at all concentrations above the threshold. The inhibitory analysis and Ca2+/IP3 uncaging pointed at the phosphoinositide cascade as a pivotal pathway responsible for agonist transduction and implicated Ca2+-induced Ca2+ release (CICR) in shaping agonists-dependent Ca2+ signals. Altogether, our data suggest that agonist transduction in MSCs includes two fundamentally different stages: an agonist initially triggers a local, gradual, and relatively small Ca2+ signal, which next stimulates CICR to accomplish transduction with a large and global Ca2+ transient. By involving the trigger-like mechanism CICR, a cell is capable of generating Ca2+ responses of virtually universal shape and magnitude at different agonist concentrations above the threshold
