    In this paper, a section of the Vuka River from its confluence with the Danube River in Vukovar to 3 + 630 rkm was modeled. The possibility and size of floods in the surrounding area were analyzed for different return periods (2, 5, 10, 50, and 100 yrs). Although the high-water levels of the Danube River are lower than the terrain elevation of Vukovar, they cause backwater in the Vuka River and in its tributary, the Bobotski canal. In that indirect way, the surrounding area is endangered and the efficiency of drainage systems is reduced. The existing riverbed of the analyzed Vuka River section was digitalized based on a digital terrain model using the geographic information system (GIS) software ArcGIS and the HEC-GeoRAS toolbar. A mathematical model of the steady-state flow of the Vuka river section using the digitized riverbed was executed in the HEC-RAS software using different return periods. The obtained velocities and water levels were analyzed using HEC-RAS, and the sizes of the flooded areas were calculated and observed in ArcGIS.U radu je modelirana dionica rijeke Vuke od samog ušća u Dunav u Vukovaru do 3+630 rkm, pri čemu je analizirana mogućnost pojave poplava, uzimajući u obzir povratna razdoblja od 2, 5, 10, 50 i 100 godina. Iako maksimalni vodostaji rijeke Dunav ne premašuju kote, uglavnom, nizinskog terena područja grada Vukovara, uzrokuju uspore u rijeci Vuki i njezinom pritoku Bobotskom kanalu. Na taj, indirektan način, ugrožavaju okolno područje i smanjuju učinkovitost zaobalnih sustava površinske odvodnje. Na digitalnom modelu terena korita rijeke Vuke i inundacijskog područja, u GIS računalnom programu ArcGIS pomoću alatne trake HEC-GeoRAS, digitalizirano je postojeće korito rijeke Vuke. Na tako definiranoj dionici napravljen je matematički model stacionarnog strujanja u računalnom programu HEC-RAS prema različitim povratnim razdobljima. Dobivene brzine strujanja i vodostaji analizirani su u samom programu HEC-RAS, dok se veličina poplavnih područja analizirala u ArcGIS-u

    The Traffic System of the Bjelovar-Bilogora County within the Traffic of the Republic of Croatia

    Sustavno prometno, prostorno i gospodarsko planiranje razvoja prometa i razrađene prostorno-vremenske etape razvoja svih elemenata prometnog sustava (infrastruktura, vozila, organizacija, nadzor i upravljanje) strateški su interes svake države, njezine regije kao i svakog naselja i grada. Grad Bjelovar i Bjelovarsko-bilogorska županija geoprometno su vrlo povoljno smješteni, ali razvoj prometnog sustava nije iskoristio pun potencijal te pozicije, tako da strateški i ekonomski važni prometni pravci u smjeru istok-zapad kao i smjeru od sjevera do juga ne prolaze kroz ovu regiju. Ekonomski i društveni razvoj Grada Bjelovara i Bjelovarsko-bilogorske županije uvjetovani su kvalitetnim cestovnim i željezničkim vezama te je nužno realizirati nove i poboljšati postojeće pravce u smjeru istok-zapad i sjever-jug. Glavni prometni pravci od grada Pecsa u Mađarskoj preko Bjelovara i Zagreba te od Banja Luke i Gradiške preko Daruvara prema Varaždinu mogu u budućnosti znatno poboljšati prometni značaj Bjelovara i Bjelovarsko-bilogorske županije. Ostali pravci, pogotovo kvalitetna cestovna veza Bjelovar – Čazma – Petrinja – Krnjak – Ogulin, mogla bi rasteretiti postojeće ceste od Mađarske preko Varaždina i Zagreba prema Rijeci i Kvarnerskom zaljevu.A systematic spatial and economic planning of traffic development and well elaborated spatial and temporal development phases regarding all elements of the traffic system (infrastructure, vehicles, organisation, surveillance and management) represent a strategic interest of every individual state, region, city and town. The City of Bjelovar and the Bjelovar-Bilogora County have not fully used all the potential of their very favourable geo-traffic prerequisites for the development of the traffic system, so that the strategically and economically important traffic connections of the east-west and north-south directions detour this region. The economic and social development aspects of the City of Bjelovar and the Bjelovar-Bilogora County depend on high-quality road and railway connections; new connections of the east-west and north-south directions should necessarily be added and the existing ones enhanced. The main traffic connections between Pecs and Banja Luka via Bjelovar and Zagreb, and between Gradiška and Varaždin via Daruvar might in future considerably enhance the traffic importance of the City of Bjelovar and the Bjelovar-Bilogora County. Other connections, in particular a high-quality road connection Bjelovar – Čazma – Petrinja – Krnjak – Ogulin, might relieve the existing roads connecting Hungary with Rijeka and the Kvarner Bay via Varaždin and Zagreb

    Causality and Renormalization in Finite-Time-Path Out-of-Equilibrium ϕ3 QFT

    Our aim is to contribute to quantum field theory (QFT) formalisms useful for descriptions of short time phenomena, dominant especially in heavy ion collisions. We formulate out-of-equilibrium QFT within the finite-time-path formalism (FTP) and renormalization theory (RT). The potential conflict of FTP and RT is investigated in gϕ3 QFT, by using the retarded/advanced ( R/A ) basis of Green functions and dimensional renormalization (DR). For example, vertices immediately after (in time) divergent self-energy loops do not conserve energy, as integrals diverge. We “repair” them, while keeping d<4 , to obtain energy conservation at those vertices. Already in the S-matrix theory, the renormalized, finite part of Feynman self-energy ΣF(p0) does not vanish when |p0|→∞ and cannot be split to retarded and advanced parts. In the Glaser–Epstein approach, the causality is repaired in the composite object GF(p0)ΣF(p0) . In the FTP approach, after repairing the vertices, the corresponding composite objects are GR(p0)ΣR(p0) and ΣA(p0)GA(p0) . In the limit d→4 , one obtains causal QFT. The tadpole contribution splits into diverging and finite parts. The diverging, constant component is eliminated by the renormalization condition ⟨0|ϕ|0⟩=0 of the S-matrix theory. The finite, oscillating energy-nonconserving tadpole contributions vanish in the limit t→∞

    Comparison of Delays at Signal-controlled Intersection and Roundabout

    Delays belong to standard parameters used for the evaluation of any type of intersection and they are taken in the evaluation of the level of service of an intersection. Intersections with shorter delays bring about economical benefits both for the users and the community, and enable greater efficiency of a traffic system, which is becoming a significant criterion with the increasing motorization. The case studies carried out in Europe and worldwide reveal that roundabouts bring delay savings if compared with other intersections of the same operational level and nearly the same traffic volume. The paper shows the results of the comparison analysis of the roundabout and the signal-controlled intersection in the city of Osijek, Croatia. The statistical indicators have given the basis for the evaluation of delays at the observed intersections, offering at the same time the possibility to compare the analysis conclusions on the local level with the conclusions of the case studies carried out throughout Europe and worldwide
