The present study deals with the occurrence of  Geastraceae from Atlantic Rainforest and Caatinga biomes in the region encompassed by the states of Rio Grande do Norte and Pernambuco. Four species have been identified: Geastrum saccatum, G. schweinitzii, G. triplex and Myriostoma coliforme, all of them representing new records from Rio Grande do Norte. The material collected was added to the herbarium URM and UFRN-fungi. Descriptions of macro and microscopic features are given, including taxonomic and ecological comments.O presente estudo aborda a ocorrência da família Geastraceae em alguns biomas de Mata Atlântica e Caatinga, situados nos Estados do Rio Grande do Norte e Pernambuco. [EN] Phallus glutinolens was described from Brazil by Möller in 1895. A new collection of P. glutinolens from the Brazilian Atlantic Forest revealed that Möller’s original description was based on young specimens. New information on morphology is provided for P. glutinolens, and an emendation of the species circumscription is presented. This article also presents a key to differentiate the known Brazilian members of the genus Phallus.Peer reviewe

Two Clathrus specimens were collected in Northeastern Brazil during the rainy season in 2008. One specimen was identified as C. chrysomycelinus and the other is described as a new species, C. cristatus, which is distinguished by its pale red to pink receptacle and crests along the edge. Full descriptions with illustrations of the collected specimens and a key to species of Clathrus from Brazil are provided.help during the fieldwork and Tereza Cristina de Oliveira Galvão for the illustration. Three species belonging to the genus Geastrum were reported for the first time from this region: G. coronatum, G. funbriatum and G. hieronymi and three from the rest of Brazil: G. elegans, G. fornicatum and G. ovalisporum. Descriptions, comments and illustrations of basidiomata are given.Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e TecnológicoPeer reviewe
