    Design and control of noise-induced synchronization patterns

    We propose a method for controlling synchronization patterns of limit-cycle oscillators by common noisy inputs, i.e., by utilizing noise-induced synchronization. Various synchronization patterns, including fully synchronized and clustered states, can be realized by using linear filters that generate appropriate common noisy signals from given noise. The optimal linear filter can be determined from the linear phase response property of the oscillators and the power spectrum of the given noise. The validity of the proposed method is confirmed by numerical simulations.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figure

    Nematic transition and highly two-dimensional superconductivity in BaTi2_2Bi2_2O revealed by 209^{209}Bi-nuclear magnetic resonance/nuclear quadrupole resonance measurements

    In this Rapid Communication, a set of 209^{209}Bi-nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)/nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) measurements has been performed to investigate the physical properties of superconducting (SC) BaTi2_2Bi2_2O from a microscopic point of view. The NMR and NQR spectra at 5~K can be reproduced with a non-zero in-plane anisotropic parameter η\eta, indicating the breaking of the in-plane four-fold symmetry at the Bi site without any magnetic order, i.e., `the electronic nematic state'. In the SC state, the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation rate divided by temperature, 1/T1T1/T_1T, does not change even below TcT_{\rm c}, while a clear SC transition was observed with a diamagnetic signal. This observation can be attributed to the strong two-dimensionality in BaTi2_2Bi2_2O. Comparing the NMR/NQR results among BaTi2_2PnPn2_2O (PnPn = As, Sb, and Bi), it was found that the normal and SC properties of BaTi2_2Bi2_2O were considerably different from those of BaTi2_2Sb2_2O and BaTi2_2As2_2O, which might explain the two-dome structure of TcT_{\rm c} in this system.Comment: 5 pages, 6 figure

    Adalimumab Monotherapy in a Patient with Psoriatic Arthritis Associated with Chronic Renal Failure on Hemodialysis: A Case Report and Literature Review

    We report a patient with psoriatic arthritis (PsA) who was successfully treated with adalimumab even while under hemodialysis therapy for associated chronic renal failure. Flow cytometry of circulating lymphocytes revealed an obvious decrease in both Th1 and Th17 cells after starting adalimumab. The latter returned to the pretreatment level in the course of adalimumab therapy, while the former did not. Adalimumab is a potent therapeutic option for PsA patients with chronic renal failure on hemodialysis, and Th1 in peripheral blood may reflect the disease activity

    Deep Adversarial Reinforcement Learning With Noise Compensation by Autoencoder

    We present a new adversarial learning method for deep reinforcement learning (DRL). Based on this method, robust internal representation in a deep Q-network (DQN) was introduced by applying adversarial noise to disturb the DQN policy; however, it was compensated for by the autoencoder network. In particular, we proposed the use of a new type of adversarial noise: it encourages the policy to choose the worst action leading to the worst outcome at each state. When the proposed method, called deep Q-W-network regularized with an autoencoder (DQWAE), was applied to seven different games in an Atari 2600, the results were convincing. DQWAE exhibited greater robustness against the random/adversarial noise added to the input and accelerated the learning process more than the baseline DQN. When applied to a realistic automatic driving simulation, the proposed DRL method was found to be effective at rendering the acquired policy robust against random/adversarial noise

    Factors influencing vehicle passenger fatality have changed over 10 years: a nationwide hospital-based study.

    Traffic injury trends have changed with safety developments. To establish effective preventive measures against traffic fatalities, the factors influencing fatalities must be understood. The present study evaluated data from a national medical database to determine the changes in these factors over time, as this has not been previously investigated. This observational study retrospectively analysed data from the Japanese Trauma Data Bank. Vehicle passengers involved in collisions from 2004-2008 and 2016-2017 were included. Data were compared between the two study periods, and between fatal and non-fatal patients within each period. Multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed to determine the factors influencing fatalities. In 2016-2017, patients were older and had lower fatality rates. In 2004-2008, fatalities were more likely to involve older male front-seat passengers with low d-BP, BT, and GCS values, and high AIS of the neck and abdomen. However, in 2016-2017, fatalities were more likely to involve older males with low GCS, high AIS of the abdomen, and positive focused assessment with sonography for trauma results. Our study identified independent factors influencing vehicle passenger fatalities, which will likely continue to evolve with the aging of the population and changing manners of injury.滋賀医科大学令和2年

Patients showing linear deposits of both IgA and IgG are diagnosed with linear IgA/IgG bullous dermatosis (LAGBD) (3,4). Dermatitis herpetiformis (DH) is another type of subepidermal AIBD characterized by clinically pruritic erythematous skin lesions with vesicles on the elbows, knees, and buttocks with granular IgA deposits of IgA by DIF (5). In this study, we report a Japanese case of a patient who showed possible concurrence of DH and LAGBD based on clinical, histological, and immunological findings
