制度的場面における会話の終結に関する一考察 : 実習反省会の観察から

国立国語研究所 研究系 音声言語研究領域 プロジェクト研究員Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Spoken Language Division, Research Department, NINJAL本研究では制度的場面における会話の終結について明らかにするために，実習反省会の場面について観察を行った。先行研究の指摘する日常会話の終結の手続きを手がかりに観察したところ，会話を終結させるか否かの交渉部分に特徴的なやり取りが見られた。ここには言い残しがあるか否かを言語表現で明示的に確認するもの，およびこの交渉の機会が全く示されないものの二つの型が観察された。後者のような終結が可能であることから，終結の直前ではなくそれ以前の部分において，終結に向けた組織がなされていることが予想され，これを担う資源として，以下の二つを取り上げた。一つは期待される反省会の内容と扱われる順序に関する情報「実習反省会の構造」，もう一つは「何かいい忘れた人はいませんか」といった発話や，談話標識，沈黙，当該発話が扱っている話題を示す表現などといった，現在の発話がどのような局面におけるものなのかを示す発話中の資源「構造化の手がかり」である。参与者はこの二つを対応付けることによって現在の発話の位置を知ることが可能になり，そのため反省会が進行していること，つまり会話終結に向かっていることを反省会の進行中も要所で確認することができることが示唆された。In this study, we examined interactions in evaluation meetings to reveal the procedures involved in closing talk-in-interaction in institutional settings. Based on previous research on closing ordinary conversations, we observed the last section of evaluation meetings and identified the characteristic construction used to negotiate whether or not the meeting should be ended.There were two contrasting types: The first was a method in which the chairperson would ask the other participants explicitly whether they have anything to say or not, whereas the second type of closing meetings presents no opportunity for such negotiation at all. Although we can close meetings using the latter technique, it is reasonable to state that the organization of the closing of an interaction is evident not only just before the closing but also in the earlier part of the session.We identified the following resources used in organizing the closing of a meeting for the earlier part: (1) cues to structuralizing talk, namely, resources that indicate the phase of the utterance produced, such as “Do you have any other comment?” as well as discourse markers, silence, and expressions about the topic mentioned; and (2) the structure of the meeting, that is, the information about the meeting agenda as expected by the participants. By using these resources, participants can understand the position of the utterances produced in the interaction in real time; as a result, the participants can realize that the meeting would end

子どもによるやり取りへの参与の振る舞い : 両親との会話の事例分析から

幼児と保護者によるごっこ遊びの相互行為―日常場面に関する知識の利用に着目して―

National Institute for Japanese Language and LinguisticsNational Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics会議名: 言語資源ワークショップ2022, 開催地: オンライン, 会期: 2022年8月30日-31日, 主催: 国立国語研究所 言語資源開発センター本研究では、国立国語研究所で現在構築中の『子ども版日本語日常会話コーパス（仮）』に格納予定である幼児1名（2歳6ヶ月〜3歳1ヶ月時）と保護者の会話データを使用し、ここで行われていた日常場面をテーマとしたごっこ遊びのやり取りについて記述を行った。着目したのは、模倣される場面に関する日常的な知識がどのようにごっこ遊びのやり取りの中に出現し、利用されているのかについてである。会話データからは当該場面や特定の役割に紐付いた挨拶表現や定型表現、典型的な振る舞いやその連鎖が文脈の共有や役割の交渉、場面の切り替えの表示などに利用され、やり取りの足場となっている様子が観察された。馴染みのある場面からそうでない場面まで、子どもが現実の中で「当該場面らしさ」を見出したこれらの表現・振る舞いに関する知識を試行、調整する場としてごっこ遊びは機能していると考えられる

幼児の発話順番取得のストラテジーに関する予備的考察 : 園児の話し合い活動の事例分析から

National Institute for Japanese Language and LinguisticsNational Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics会議名: 言語資源活用ワークショップ2021, 開催地: オンライン, 会期: 2021年9月13日-14日, 主催: 国立国語研究所 コーパス開発センター話し合い場面では、述べ合った意見を合意に向けて調整することが行われるが、議論が白熱している場合には、意見を述べる機会を得ること自体が参加者にとって一つの関心事となり得る。そして幼い子ども同士が話し合いに取り組む場合においても、このことは大きな課題となっている。本研究では、幼稚園で収録した園児同士の話し合い場面のデータを観察し、園児たちが発話順番を取得、維持することや、産出する発話を他の参与者に聞いてもらうことに向けて、どのような振る舞いを行っているのかについて記述を行った。データからは、園児たちが順番取得と同時に意見を述べるのではなく、一旦順番を取得し「いいこと考えた！」といった注意獲得や「あと一個あるんだよ」「これはどう？」などの予告を行うことによって意見の内容を先送りし、その上で改めて意見を述べる様子が観察された。これは大人も用いていることが指摘されている、発話順番確保のための合理的なストラテジーである。子どもたちの実際のやり取りにおいて、これらのストラテジーを使った話者が結果的に発話順番確保に必ずしも成功しているわけではなかったが、園児たちはこれらの実践を通して相互行為上のストラテジーとそれに対する対応について学んでいると考えられる

Coordination of Behavior in Joint Action between Mother and Child : From the Case Study of Cookie Making

子ども-保護者間会話における［要求-拒否］のやり取り

Design and Evaluation of the Corpus of Everyday Japanese Conversation

The CEJC is designed to contain various kinds of everyday conversations in a balanced manner to capture their diversity. The CEJC features not only audio but also video data to facilitate precise understanding of the mechanism of real-life social behavior. The publication of a large-scale corpus of everyday conversations that includes video data is a new approach. The CEJC contains 200 hours of speech, 577 conversations, about 2.4 million words, and a total of 1675 conversants. In this paper, we present an overview of the corpus, including the recording method and devices, structure of the corpus, formats of video and audio files, transcription, and annotations. We then report some results of the evaluation of the CEJC in terms of conversant and conversation attributes. We show that the CEJC includes a good balance of adult conversants in terms of gender and age, as well as a variety of conversations in terms of conversation forms, places, activities, and numbers of conversants.conference pape

Construction of the corpus of everyday Japanese conversation : An interim report

The corpus targets various kinds of naturally occurring conversations in daily situations, such as conversations during dinner with the family at home, meetings with colleagues at work, and conversations while driving. In this paper, we first introduce an overview of the corpus, including corpus size, conversation variations, recording methods, structure of the corpus, and annotations to be included in the corpus. Next, we report on the current stage of the development of the corpus and legal and ethical issues discussed so far. Then we present some results of the preliminary evaluation of the data being collected. We focus on whether or not the 94 hours of conversations collected so far vary in a balanced manner by reference to the survey results of everyday conversational behavior that we conducted previously to build an empirical foundation for the corpus design. The CEJC is designed to contain various kinds of everyday conversations in a balanced manner to capture the diversity of everyday conversations and to observe natural conversational behavior. Prior to the publication of the whole corpus, which scheduled for 2022, we published the monitor version of the CEJC in December 2018. In this paper, we first outlined the design of the monitor version of the CEJC, including recording methods, the release policy of the corpus, corpus size, and annotations. Then, we examined whether the speakers and the conversations in the corpus vary in a balanced manner. Finally, we conducted a preliminary analysis on some linguistic aspects of the monitor version of the CEJC, revealing the possible implications of the corpus
