LOS CUENTOS DE JAIME CABRERA: ALGUNAS CLAVES DE SU ESTILO Y DE SU MUNDO

El ensayo se acerca a las claves del estilo y el mundo narrativo del escritor Jaime Cabrera González, a quien el autor considera encarna una propuesta literaria que se hace notoria y distinguible en el contexto de la narrativa del Caribe colombiano y aún en el panorama más amplio de la cuentística colombiana actual. Para eso se han revisado los textos más representativos de Cabrera y en ellos se han podido hallar algunas de las señas particulares de una manera personal de expresar su visión de la literatura. En el presente artículo se exponen los resultados obtenidos en las labores de prospección arqueológica desarrolladas en el yacimeinto al aire libre de Larrañaga (Hondarribia, Gipuzkoa). Asimismo, se contextualizan estos resultados con los obtenidos en el proyecto de prospección, catas y sondeos arqueólógicos del Monte Jaizkibel que M.J. Iriarte y A. Arrizabalaga vienen desarrollando desde el año 2001, en el sector noreste del monte Jaizkibel (término municipal de Hondarribia, vertiente norte)

Tritrichomonas foetus Cell Division Involves DNA Endoreplication and Multiple Fissions

Tritrichomonas foetus and Trichomonas vaginalis are extracellular flagellated parasites that inhabit animals and humans, respectively. Cell division is a crucial process in most living organisms that leads to the formation of 2 daughter cells from a single mother cell. It has been assumed that T. vaginalis and T. foetus modes of reproduction are exclusively by binary fission. However, here, we showed that multinuclearity is a phenomenon regularly observed in different T. foetus and T. vaginalis strains in standard culture conditions. Additionally, we revealed that nutritional depletion or nutritional deprivation led to different dormant phenotypes. Although multinucleated T. foetus are mostly observed during nutritional depletion, numerous cells with 1 larger nucleus have been observed under nutritional deprivation conditions. In both cases, when the standard culture media conditions are restored, the cytoplasm of these multinucleated cells separates, and numerous parasites are generated in a short period of time by the fission multiple. We also revealed that DNA endoreplication occurs both in large and multiple nuclei of parasites under nutritional deprivation and depletion conditions, suggesting an important function in stress nutritional situations. Rift-margin extensional forced folds and salt tectonics in the eastern Basque-Cantabrian rift basin (western Pyrenees)

In this paper we present and discuss Cretaceous extensional folds of the eastern Basque-Cantabrian Basin (Northern Spain). Geometry and kinematics of folds is constrained by means of structural and sedimentological fieldwork integrated with geological mapping, revealing an intimate link between coeval folding, extensional faulting, and salt mobilization. In detail, the Mesozoic succession of the northwestern and southern borders of the Palaeozoic Bortziriak-Cinco Villas massif (eastern margin of the BCB) host late Albian–early Cenomanian syn-rift forced folds. The studied forced fold axes trend parallel and are located above main and inferred Cretaceous syn-sedimentary basement faults. Structural data indicate that these folds formed during the late Albian − early Cenomanian interval. The presence of Upper Triassic clay and evaporite outcrops along and/or close to the axes of folds and their stratigraphic relationship with Upper Cretaceous strata indicate their halokinetic origin and extrusion during folding. The trigger of salt tectonics is attributed to a basement extensional pulse during the Bay of Biscay – Pyrenean rifting. Related high subsidence-rates allowed salt to flow towards faults, forming salt walls and causing the inflation and folding of the overburden.This research was funded by grant BFI05.398 from the Basque Government to A. Nickel aluminate spinel-derived catalysts for the aqueous phase reforming of glycerol: Effect of reduction temperature

Bulk nickel aluminate (NiAl2O4) was synthesised by co-precipitation at a Ni/Al mole ratio of 1:2 (stoichiometric ratio). The prepared sample was reduced at different temperatures, in the 300 to 850 ºC range, and obtained assays were analysed by a wide range of analytical techniques (XFR, XRD, H2-chemisoprtion, H2-TPR, DRS UV-vis NIR, FTIR, 27Al MAS NMR, NH3-TPD, CO2-TPD, TPO) and tested for the APR of glycerol. The spinel precursor allowed the formation of small and stable Ni particles (< 14 nm) upon reduction with good performance in the APR of glycerol (NiAl-850 93% conversion, 57% conversion to gas, at 250 ºC/45 bar and WHSV 24.5 h-1). Hydrogen was the main gaseous product and the activation temperature did not substantially alter selectivity to gaseous products; however, selectivity to intermediate oxygenated liquid compounds was substantially modified. Overall, glycerol dehydrogenation route was dominant at high reduction temperature. The good stability of the spinel led to stable H2 yield in the long-term runs (50 hours) and proved potential to be used in the APR of glycerol.Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad, ENE2016-7450-

Effect of the synthesis method on the performance of Ni-CeO2-ZrO2 catalysts for the hydrogenolysis of glycerol with endogenous hydrogen

In this work, we investigated the influence of the synthesis method of Ni-based CeZr catalysts on their physicochemical and catalytic properties in the hydrogenolysis (HDO) of glycerol with H2 in-situ produced by the aqueous-phase reforming (APR). Conventional impregnation method involved surface nickel deposition (NiCeZr-IM). The one-pot methods, which involved nickel embedment into CeZr lattice, included sol-gel (NiCeZr-SC) and coprecipitation (NiCeZr-CA and ultrasound-assisted NiCeZR-CS) methods. Differences in textural, structural, morphological, redox, and surface properties, together with and catalytic performance in the glycerol APR-HDO, were investigated systematically. As well, spent catalysts were deeply characterized. There were notable differences among textural properties, which significantly affected their activity in glycerol conversion. The structural characterization confirmed the successful integration of Ni into the CeZr lattice, especially for the catalysts synthesized using one-pot methods. One-pot synthesized catalysts showed stronger Ni-CeZr interaction, which affect the reducibility. The catalysts prepared by coprecipitation contained the highest metal-to-acid ratio, making them very active for C-O bond hydrogenation. Post-reaction characterization discloses a leaching of the nickel, in greater amount for both coprecipitated catalysts. This study revealed the potential of Ni-based catalysts derived from subsurface insertion of nickel into the CeZr matrix for the hydrogenolysis of glycerol without external hydrogen.Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación, PID2019-106692RB-I0
