Quantum correlations and Nash equilibria of a bi-matrix game
Playing a symmetric bi-matrix game is usually physically implemented by
sharing pairs of 'objects' between two players. A new setting is proposed that
explicitly shows effects of quantum correlations between the pairs on the
structure of payoff relations and the 'solutions' of the game. The setting
allows a re-expression of the game such that the players play the classical
game when their moves are performed on pairs of objects having correlations
that satisfy the Bell's inequalities. If players receive pairs having quantum
correlations the resulting game cannot be considered another classical
symmetric bi-matrix game. Also the Nash equilibria of the game are found to be
decided by the nature of the correlations.Comment: minor correction
Persuasive Strategies Used by Agung Sedayu Group in the Infomercial, Metro TV
This study is conducted to find out the types of persuasive strategies which were used in Agung Sedayu Group's infomercial. It is aimed to seek the types of persuasive strategies used by the hosts and the representative team of Agung Sedayu Group in the infomercial. The writer uses the theories of persuasive strategies by Beebe (2012). The types of persuasive strategies theories are enhancing your credibility, using logic and evidence, and using emotion to persuade. In addition, the writer uses theory of social factor by Holmes (2001) as the supporting theory. This research uses qualitative supported by quantitative methods to reveal which strategy that mostly used by the participants. In the analysis, the writer found out that the most dominant persuasive strategy used by the hosts is using emotion to persuade 161 (31.8%). Moreover, the most dominant persuasive strategy used by the representative team is enhancing your credibility 113 (22.3%)
Quantum mechanics gives stability to a Nash equilibrium
We consider a slightly modified version of the Rock-Scissors-Paper (RSP) game
from the point of view of evolutionary stability. In its classical version the
game has a mixed Nash equilibrium (NE) not stable against mutants. We find a
quantized version of the RSP game for which the classical mixed NE becomes
stable.Comment: Revised on referee's criticism, submitted to Physical Review
A probabilistic approach to quantum Bayesian games of incomplete information
A Bayesian game is a game of incomplete information in which the rules of the
game are not fully known to all players. We consider the Bayesian game of
Battle of Sexes that has several Bayesian Nash equilibria and investigate its
outcome when the underlying probability set is obtained from generalized
Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen experiments. We find that this probability set, which
may become non-factorizable, results in a unique Bayesian Nash equilibrium of
the game.Comment: 18 pages, 2 figures, accepted for publication in Quantum Information

Symmetries in M-theory: Monsters, Inc
We will review the algebras which have been conjectured as symmetries in
M-theory. The Borcherds algebras, which are the most general Lie algebras under
control, seem natural candidates.Comment: 6 pages, talk given by PHL at Cargese 200
Multistability of free spontaneously-curved anisotropic strips
Multistable structures are objects with more than one stable conformation,
exemplified by the simple switch. Continuum versions are often elastic
composite plates or shells, such as the common measuring tape or the slap
bracelet, both of which exhibit two stable configurations: rolled and unrolled.
Here we consider the energy landscape of a general class of multistable
anisotropic strips with spontaneous Gaussian curvature. We show that while
strips with non-zero Gaussian curvature can be bistable, strips with positive
spontaneous curvature are always bistable, independent of the elastic moduli,
strips of spontaneous negative curvature are bistable only in the presence of
spontaneous twist and when certain conditions on the relative stiffness of the
strip in tension and shear are satisfied. Furthermore, anisotropic strips can
become tristable when their bending rigidity is small. Our study complements
and extends the theory of multistability in anisotropic shells and suggests new
design criteria for these structures.Comment: 20 pages, 10 figure
Quantum Deconstruction of a 5D SYM and its Moduli Space
We deconstruct the fifth dimension of the 5D SYM theory with SU(M) gauge
symmetry and Chern-Simons level k=M and show how the 5D moduli space follows
from the non-perturbative analysis of the 4D quiver theory. The 5D coupling
h=1/(g_5)^2 of the un-broken SU(M) is allowed to take any non-negative values,
but it cannot be continued to h<0 and there are no transitions to other phases
of the theory. The alternative UV completions of the same 5D SYM -- via M
theory on the C^3/Z_2M orbifold or via the dual five-brane web in type IIB
string theory -- have identical moduli spaces: h >= 0 only, and no flop
transitions. We claim these are intrinsic properties of the SU(M) SYM theory
with k=M.Comment: 46 Page
Rancangbangun Aplikator Kompos untuk Tebu Lahan Kering
The widely sugarcane plantation area in Indonesia causes the management of sugarcane litter conducted by mechanization. To manage sugarcane litter into compost needed several machineries such as tractors, trash rakes, trailesr, choppers, trucks, composting turner, loaders, and compost applicators. The objective of this study was to design a compost applicator for sugarcane litter that can be used for a plant cane andratoon in dry land. The process of making a prototype applicators follow the design flowchart that begins with the calculation of the dimensions, design of engineering drawings, selection and material purchases. The result showed that the applicator prototype with belt conveyor metering device could function well and was able to apply the compost with a high dose (15 ton / ha)
Quantum Matching Pennies Game
A quantum version of the Matching Pennies (MP) game is proposed that is
played using an Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen-Bohm (EPR-Bohm) setting. We construct
the quantum game without using the state vectors, while considering only the
quantum mechanical joint probabilities relevant to the EPR-Bohm setting. We
embed the classical game within the quantum game such that the classical MP
game results when the quantum mechanical joint probabilities become
factorizable. We report new Nash equilibria in the quantum MP game that emerge
when the quantum mechanical joint probabilities maximally violate the
Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt form of Bell's inequality.Comment: Revised in light of referees' comments, submitted to Journal of the
