Coverage, capacity and energy efficiency analysis in the uplink of mmWave cellular networks

In this paper, using the concept of stochastic geometry, we present an analytical framework to evaluate the signal-to-interference-and-noise-ratio (SINR) coverage in the uplink of millimeter wave cellular networks. By using a distance-dependent line-of-sight (LOS) probability function, the location of LOS and non-LOS users are modeled as two independent non-homogeneous Poisson point processes, with each having a different pathloss exponent. The analysis takes account of per-user fractional power control (FPC), which couples the transmission of users based on location-dependent channel inversion. We consider the following scenarios in our analysis: 1) Pathloss-based FPC (PL-FPC) which is performed using the measured pathloss and 2) Distance-based FPC (D-FPC) which is performed using the measured distance. Using the developed framework, we derive expressions for the area spectral efficiency and energy efficiency. Results suggest that in terms of SINR coverage, D-FPC outperforms PL-FPC scheme at high SINR where the future networks are expected to operate. It achieves equal or better area spectral efficiency and energy efficiency compared with the PL-FPC scheme. Contrary to the conventional ultra-high frequency cellular networks, in both FPC schemes, the SINR coverage decreases as the cell density becomes greater than a threshold, while the area spectral efficiency experiences a slow growth region

Participatory sensing as an enabler for self-organisation in future cellular networks

In this short review paper we summarise the emerging challenges in the field of participatory sensing for the self-organisation of the next generation of wireless cellular networks. We identify the potential of participatory sensing in enabling the self-organisation, deployment optimisation and radio resource management of wireless cellular networks. We also highlight how this approach can meet the future goals for the next generation of cellular system in terms of infrastructure sharing, management of multiple radio access techniques, flexible usage of spectrum and efficient management of very small data cells

PENGEMBANGAN LEMBAR KERJA PESERTA DIDIK (LKPD) BERBASIS MODEL PROBLEM BASED LEARNING (PBL) UNTUK SISWA KELAS X MIPA SMA/MA

Jenis penelitian ini adalah research and development. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) berbasis Model Problem Based Learning (PBL) untuk Siswa Kelas X MIPA SMA/MA yang bersifat valid, praktis dan efektif. Penelitian ini mengacu pada model pengembangan ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation, Evaluation). Data penelitian ini terdiri atas: (1) data kevalidan melalui penilaian ahli, (2) data kepraktisan melalui pengamatan keterlaksanaan LKPD dan data respon guru dan siswa, (3) data keefektifan melalui tes hasil belajar dan tes peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh: (1) LKPD memiliki tingkat kevalidan sebesar 4,3 dengan kategori valid, (2) LKPD dinyatakan praktis dengan tingkat keterlaksanaan sebesar 1,8 dengan kategori terlaksana seluruhnya, respon guru dan siswa terhadap LKPD yakni bersifat positif, (3) LKPD dinyatakan efektif dengan tingkat ketuntasan belajar siswa sebesar 83,9% dan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dengan gain score 0,5. Analysis of Symbol Dan Brown’s Novel “The Lost Symbol”

This thesis studied about Analysis of Symbol Dan Brown’s Novel “The Lost Symbol.” The problem of this thesis are what symbols does Dan Brown use in the novel of “The Lost Symbol” and what are the meanings of the symbols. The aim of this thesis is to find out symbols used by Dan Brown in the novel “The Lost Symbol” and to describe the meaning of symbol in “The Lost Symbol” novel by Dan Brown. The researcher used descriptive qualitative method approach to found out and analyzing the meaning of symbols. Instrument that used by the writer was note taking. From this instrument, the writer was read the text of novel, and the next writer was separate the symbol and write down the meaning in paper the location of the page, the last writer was identify symbol and the meaning in the novel. In this thesis, the writer found out some symbols according to Jerry’s theory there are, Personal symbol, consist of: The Order Eight Franklin Square, Melencolia I, SBB13, Masonic Ring, The Apotheosis of Washington, and The double-headed phoenix; Cultural symbol, consist of: Statue of Freedom, Hand of the Mysteries, Masonic Pyramid, Freemason’s Cipher, Great Seal of the United States, Kryptos, Federal Triangle, Number 33 and Cross or Rose Cross; Universal symbol, the writer found one symbols: Sacred Book. All symbols used in The Lost Symbol Novel by Dan Brown is to show as Unite State of America is nation build from freemason spirit. Masonry is a system of morality,veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols. After that the free-mason spirit we can see from rebirth ancient building like, Capitol building, White House, and Washington Monument. The result of this research was expected to be useful information to the students and lecturer, especially people whose concern with symbols. ANALISIS PENERAPAN TEKNOLOGI MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN OLEH GURU DI SMAN 1 SUNGAI RAYA KABUPATEN KUBU RAYA ANALYSIS OF LEARNING MEDIA TECHNOLOGY APPLICATION BY TEACHER IN SMAN 1 KUBU DISTRICT RIVER RAYA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis proses Penerapan Teknologi Media Pendidikan Oleh Guru Pada Proses Pembelajaran di SMAN 1 Sungai Raya Kabupaten Kubu Raya”. Penelitian ini menggunakan  metode deskriptif verifikatif dengan bentuk penelitian studi kasus, dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 84 orang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa. 1) Model pembelajaran sebagian telah para guru kuasai dan dapat diterapkan dan sebagian lagi belum dapat diterapkan dan dipahami secara utuh, mengingat kurangnya literatur yang tersedia untuk mempelajari model-model pembelajaran tersebut. 2) Strategi pembelajaran sebagian besar sangat diperhatikan dan telah dikuasai dan dapat diterapkan oleh guru dan sebagian lagi belum dapat diterapkan dan dipahami secara utuh mengingat kurangnya pemahaman dalam hal strategi pembelajaran tersebut, mengingat masih ada guru yang kesulitan membedakan antara konsep strategi pembelajaran dengan model, metode dan teknik pembelajaran. 3) Metode pembelajaran sebagian besar sangat diperhatikan, dikembangkan dan dimanfaatkan serta terus dikuasai dan dapat diterapkan oleh guru, dan sebagian lagi belum dapat diterapkan dan dipahami secara utuh, mengingat kurangnya percobaan-percobaan yang mereka lakukan. 4) Media pembelajaran sebagian besar sangat diperhatikan dan telah dikuasai dan dapat diterapkan oleh guru dan sebagian lagi belum dapat diterapkan dan dipahami secara utuh, hanya saja banyak guru yang malas untuk membuat media tersebut, karena kesibukan dan kurangnya bahan atau fasilitas yang tersedia di sekolah atau tempat tinggal para guru yang jauh dari kota. 5) Sumber belajar dan hasil belajar dalam proses pembelajaran sebagian besar sangat diperhatikan dan cukup tersedia dan hasil belajar yang diperoleh siswa sebagian besar sangat memuaskan, walaupun ada beberapa mata pelajaran yang hanya cukup memuaskan.Kata Kunci: Penerapan Teknologi, Media Pembelajaran, Guru

Design of a curry puff making machine

Most of the processes of curry puff making in small scale industry are well known as handmade product where curry puffs are made by using human manpower completely. This certainly needs many human power and skilled operators to increase their production rate at high competitive level. In another side, experienced curry puff maker use the machine that imported from out of our country. This can be a burden for small scale industry player that want to start and continue their small business. This project is to design a curry puff making machine that will help industry player to start their business at low cost. To realize the model of the machine, a systematic approach called product design and development is implemented to ensure the proper design is completed. It is covers the concept development, concept scoring, selection and preliminary final design. Consequently a conceptual model of curry puff machine complete is created. For further step, this conceptual model will be designed in detail and model analysis will be performed to distinguish any design related issues. Curry puff making model is function semi-automatically where it is used to form and crimp the curry puff according to its mould shape. This machine consisting 8 units of plastic mould that capable of producing 8 pieces of curry puff in each operation and would be increased if required. It is use controlled mechanical power to ensure systematic operation is performed. At the same time, the material that used for machine structures are selected based on safety concern for food processing equipment
