    Penelitian ini menjelaskan mengenai penerapan Problem-Based Learning untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses siswa pada tema sembilan “Lingkungan Sahabat Kita”. Lokasi penelitian dilaksanakan di salah satu SD Negeri di kota Bandung. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V yang berjumlah 24 orang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengidentifikasi proses belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem-Based Learning; (2) mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan proses siswa melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Problem-Based Learning. Pelaksanaan penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan proses siswa sehingga proses belajar mengajar menjadi tidak kondusif. Aspek keterampilan proses yang menunjukkan kondisi dibawah rata-rata adalah keterampilan mengamati, menafsirkan, menerapkan konsep dan mengomunikasikan. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, dilakukanlah penelitian tindakan kelas yang mengadaptasi dari model penelitian Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart dengan dua siklus proses. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keterampilan proses siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran model pembelajaran Problem-Based Learning. Pada siklus pertama, rata-rata keterampilan mengamati siswa mencapai angka 65% dan meningkat di siklus kedua menjadi 100%. Pada siklus pertama rata-rata keterampilan menafsirkan siswa mencapai angka 77% dan meningkat di siklus kedua menjadi 88%. Pada siklus pertama rata-rata keterampilan menerapkan konsep siswa mencapai angka 83% dan kemudian mengalami kenaikan di siklus kedua menjadi 100%. Begitupun dengan keterampilan mengkomunikasikan, pada siklus pertama rata-rata keterampilan proses mencapai hanya mencapai angka 48% dan meningkat di siklus kedua menjadi 79%. Sehingga dari hasil penelitian yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan Problem-Based Learning dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses mengamati, menafsirkan, menerapkan konsep dan mengomunikasikan karena fase-fase yang ada pada Problem-Based Learning memiliki langkah kegiatan yang dapat meningkatkan empat keterampilan proses tersebut;--- This research is going to explain about implementing Problem-Based Learningin order to increasing process skills of elementary students in subject ninth theme “Lingkungan Sahabat Kita”. The research located at state elementary school in Bandung. The research subject’s is 24 fifth grade elementary students. This research goals are (1) Identifying learning process by using Problem-Based Learningmodel (2) Identifying the increasing of student’s process skills through implementing Problem-Based Learning. This research implementation caused by the low activity of process skill, so the learning activity is never conducive. The low aspects of process skills showed in learning activity are observing skill, interpretating skill, applying concept skill and communicating skill. Based on those problem, the action will be doing is classroom action research which adapting research’s model of Kemmis and Mc.Taggart with two cylcles process. The result of research shows there is an increasing of student’s process skill by implementing Problem-Based Learningmodel. In the first cycle, the average of observing skill shows grade 65% then increasing in second cycle shows 100%. In the first cycle, the average of interpretating skill shows grade 77% then increasing in second cycle shows 88%. In the first cycle, the average of applying concept skill shows grade 83% then increasing in second cycle shows 100%. And the last one is communicatiing skills, it increases from 48% to 79%. The conclution of this research shows that Problem-Based Learning is effective to increasing student’s process skill, especially observing, interpretating, applying concept and communicating.     PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PEER TEACHING TERHADAP KERJASAMA DAN HASIL BELAJAR KATA BEREGU (HEIAN SHODAN) PADA PEMBELAJARAN KARATE DI SMA NEGERI 1 BALEENDAH

    Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendapatkan data dan informasi yang jelas mengenai pengaruh model Peer Teaching dalam pembelajaran kata beregu (heian shodan) terhadap kerjasama dan hasil belajar siswa SMA Negeri 1 Baleendah. Karena kerjasama sangat diperlukan dalam menunjang kehidupan bermasyarakat . Begitu pula hasil belajar ingin diketahui melalui penerapan model Peer Teaching. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Baleendah tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 yang mengikuti pembelajaran beladiri karate yang berjumlah 48 siswa. Adapun teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan oleh peneliti yaitu teknik sampling jenuh. Desain penelitian yaitu quasi eksperimen dengan pretest-post test control group design. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengukur kerjasama penulis menggunakan angket dengan indicator kerjasama adalah mengikuti aturan, membantu teman yang belum bisa, memotivasi orang lain, hormat pada orang lain, menerima pendapat orang lain, bermain secara terkendali, memperhatikan perasaan orang lain, dan kerjasama meraih tujuan. Sedangkan untuk mengukur hasil belajar kata beregu penulis menggunakan lembar observasi. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan dan analisis melalui data, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa : 1. Model Peer Teaching dalam pembelajaran kata beregu (heian shodan) berpengaruh terhadap kerjasama siswa SMA Negeri 1 Baleendah. 2. Model Peer Teaching dalam pembelajaran kata beregu (heian shodan) berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa SMA Negeri 1 Baleendah. Kata Kunci: Model Peer Teaching, Kerjasama, Hasil Belajar. The research aims to obtain clear data and information on the effect of the Peer Teaching Model in learning ‘KATA team’ (Heian shodan) to students’ cooperation and learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 1 Baleendah. It is because cooperation is really needed to support social life and so does learning outcome through the application of the Peer Teaching model. The method used in this study is an experiment with a quantitative approach. The population of this study was students of class X SMA Negeri 1 Baleendah who follows karate lessons comprising 48 students in the year of 2014/2015. The sampling technique used by the researcher is a saturated sampling technique. The research design is quasi-experimental with pretest - posttest control group design. The instrument that the writer used to measure the cooperation is questionnaire with the following indicators of cooperation; helping a friend who is not capable of, motivating others, respect for others, accepting the other opinions, playing in a controlled way, Paying attention to the feelings of others, and cooperation in reaching the common goal. Meanwhile to measure learning outcomes of ‘Kata Team’, the writer used observation sheet. Based on the data calculations and analysis, it can be concluded that : 1. Peer Teaching Model in learning kata team (Heian shodan) influences students’ cooperation at SMA Negeri 1 Baleendah. 2.     PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN OUTDOOR EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS SISWA PADA MATERI KEANEKARAGAMAN HAYATI

    Outdoor experiential learning merupakan salah satu model pembalajaran yang dikembangkan dari pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman. Pengalaman belajar yang didapat melalui serangkaian tahapan ditransformasi lalu kemudian diubah menjadi pengetahuan baru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran berbasis outdoor experiential learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Mengingat kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu jenis kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi, penerapan pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman sangat krusial untuk diterapkan di Indonesia khususnya. Materi keanekaragaman hayati dipilih berkaitan dengan objek-objek yang dipelajari dalam materi tersebut melibatkan benda-benda nyata dan bisa diamati secara langsung. Desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pretest-posttest control group design, dimana siswa terbagi menjadi 2 kelompok kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen yang melibatkan 59 orang siswa. Kedua kelompok masing-masing melakukan 2 kali pengujian, sebelum pembelajaran dan satu lagi sesudah pembelajaran dilaksanakan. Semua data yang diperoleh dikumpulkan melalui instrumen yang telah disiapkan yaitu instrumen tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dan angket untuk menjaring kelebihan dan kekurangan dari pembelajaran. Data yang didapat kemudian diolah secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan berpikir kritis di kelas eksperimen daripada kelas kontrol. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran outdoor experiential learning dapat berpengaruh baik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi keanekaragaman hayati.;---Outdoor experiential learning is one of learning models which involved from experience-based learning. Learning experimence which acquired then transformed into new knowledges. This aim of research is to identify the influence of outdoor experiential learning to students’ critical thinking skills on biodiversity concept. Due to assumption that critical thinking skills as one of high order thinking skills, the application of experience-based learning is really important to be done as soon as possible especially in Indonesia. Biodiversity concepts selected because this concepts contain objects that involve real things and observable. The research design that used in this research is pretest-posttest control group design. Students divided inti 2 researh group; control and experiment and involving 59 students. Each group doing 2 times measuring process which is before and after learning activities. All data were collected through instruments prepared before, which is test instrument of criticall thinking skills and questionnaire to collect advantages and disadvantages of the learning has done before. The result shows that there is signifficant differences between experiment and control groups, which means outdoor experiential learning influenced signifficantly to foster critical thinking skillls on biodiversity concepts

    STUDI TENTANG PENERAPAN KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT DALAM MENINGKATKAN KINERJA KARYAWAN PT.TELKOM WITEL LEMBONG BANDUNG

    Perusahan penyelenggara layanan telekomunikasi dan jaringan merupakan industri yang semakin kompleks. Seperti permasalahan pada penelitian ini adalah penurunan kinerja karyawan yang cukup besar di salah satu cabang PT. Telkom di daerah Bandung Witel Lembong. Hal ini dapat menjadi penghambat PT. Telkom dalam pengembangan perusahaannya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran knowledge management dan kinerja karyawan. Dan untuk mengetahui bagaimana dampak penerapan knowledge management terhadap kinerja karyawan PT. Telkom Witel Lembong. Dalam penelitian ini meliputi dua variabel yang diteliti, yaitu knowledge management dan kinerja karyawan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dan verifikatif, dengan jumlah populasi 367 karyawan dan sampel berjumlah 79 responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah simple random sampling. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah the product moment coefficient correlation (koefisien korelasi produk moment) dan analisis regresi sederhana. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa knowledge management berada pada kategori sedang dan kinerja karyawan berada pada kategori tinggi. Hasil perhitungan korelasi kedua variabel adalah 0,441 yang artinya hubungan antara knowledge management dengan kinerja karyawan adalah sedang. Hasil perhitungan analisis regresi sederhana didapatkan persamaan Y=32,221 + 0,551X dan KD=19,4% yang artinya tingkat pengaruh lemah dan sisanya sebesar 80,6% dipengaruhi oleh faktor atau variabel lainnya yang tidak diteliti. Karena knowledge management berpengaruh terhadap kinerja karyawan, maka saran untuk perusahaan adalah sebaiknya perusahaan lebih memperhatikan knowledge management untuk meningkatkan kinerja karyawan. ---------- Telecommunications service providers and corporate networks are increasingly complex industry. Telkom in the development of the company. The purpose of this study is to describe the knowledge management and employee performance. And to know how the impact of application knowledge management on the performance of employees of PT. Telkom Witel Lembong. In this study includes two variables studied, knowledge management and employee performance. The method used in this research is descriptive and verification, with a population of 367 employees and the sample amounted to 79 respondents. The sampling technique in this study is simple random sampling. The analysis technique used is the product moment correlation coefficient and a simple regression analysis. Results from this study indicate that knowledge management in middle category and employee performance at the high category. The calculation result of correlation between the two variables is 0.441, which means the relationship between knowledge management with the employee's performance is moderate. Simple regression analysis calculation results obtained equation Y = 32.221 + 0,551X and KD = 19.4%, which means the level of influence of the weak and the remaining 80.6% is influenced by other factors or variables that are not observed.     Stres tidak hanya berdampak negatif, namun juga dapat berdampak positif. Hal ini bergantung bagaimana cara seseorang mengelola stres tersebut. Fenomena keterampilan mengelola stres yang terjadi pada siswa di SMA N 1 Majalengka, terdapat 18,75 % siswa ada pada kategori tinggi dalam mengelola stres. Terdapat 65,62% siswa ada pada kategori sedang dan terdapat 15,62 % siswa ada pada kategori rendah dalam mengelola stresnya. Oleh karena itu maka diperlukan adanya bantuan yang dapat meningkatkan keterampilan mengelola stress pada siswa. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji efektivitas Konseling Keterampilan Hidup (KKH) untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Mengelola Stres Siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA Negeri 1 Majalengka kelas XI IPA tahun Ajaran 2012/2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Kuantitatif dengan metode quasi eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukan KKH efektif untuk meningkatkan Keterampilan Mengelola Stres. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah KKH efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan mengelola stres siswa. Rekomendasi dari penelitian ini yaitu bagi guru BK sebelum menangani stres siswa menggunakan KKH, Guru BK seyogyanya menganalisis tingkat Stres, stresor, coping stres siswa terlebih dahulu dan memahami tahapan KKH. Bagi peneliti selanjutnya seyogyanya memfokuskan subjek penelitian pada sampel yang lebih individual sehingga data deskriptif kualitatif tentang kepuasan konseli, suasana konseling, ungkapan perasaan (emosi) konseli dan hal lain yang sifatnya kualitatif . Skills to manage stress is important in a person's life because human life will not be spared from stress. Stress not only have a negative impact, but also can have a positive impact. It depends how people manage the stress, as well as the students. The problem faced in this age of increasingly complex. The phenomenon of skills to manage the stress that occurs in students at SMA N 1 Majalengka, there are 18.75% of students in the high category in managing stress. There are 65.62% of the students there are in the medium category and there are 15.62% of students in the low category in managing stress. Therefore it is necessary to help to improve the skills to manage stress in students. The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of Life Skills Counselling to Improve Stress Management Skills of Student. The population of this study were students of SMAN 1 Majalengka grade XI periode 2012/2013. This study uses a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental methods. The results showed Life Skills Counseling Effective to improve Stress Management Skills of students. This is shown by empirical data, difference scores pre-test and scores post-test. Based on the findings of this study, it can be used Life Skills Counseling interventions to improve students' skills to managing stress

    PENERAPAN PEER ASSESSMENT DALAM PENILAIAN KINERJA PRODUK PADA PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS PROYEK PADA MATERI EKOSISTEM

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan peer assessment dalam penilaian kinerja produk pada pembelajaran berbasis proyek pada materi ekosistem. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan melibatkan siswa yang terdiri dari 34 siswa SMA kelas X. Peer assessment dilakukan dengan cara siswa menilai produk yang dibuat oleh teman sekelompoknya. Penerapan peer assessment pada penelitian ini dilakukan sebanyak tiga kali yaitu pada tahap merancang produk, penilaian hasil produk dan presentasi produk. Dilakukan analisis mengenai hasil penilaian kinerja melalui peer assessment dan juga kesamaan hasil penilaian yang dilakukan melalui peer assessment dan penilaian guru pada setiap tahapan yaitu dengan cara membandingkan hasil penilaian pada kategori yang sama dari kedua sumber penilaian tersebut. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu rata-rata penilaian kinerja produk pada setiap tahapannya yaitu: tahap perancangan produk 79; tahap penilaian produk 76,4; dan tahap presentasi produk 82. Sedangkan kesamaan hasil penilaian melalui peer assessment dan penilaian guru yaitu: tahap perancangan produk 54%; tahap penilaian produk 64,7%; dan tahap presentasi produk 71%. Perbedaan pengalaman dalam melakukan penilaian, perbedaan interpretasi rubrik penilaian dan faktor lainnya mempengaruhi perolehan hasil penilaian yang diperoleh siswa. This study aimed to describing the implementation of peer assessment for product performance assessment on project-based learning on ecosystem concepts. This research using descriptive methods involving 34 high school student X grade. Peer assessment was held by contributing students as an assessor for their peer’s product in the group. Peer assessment was conducted three rounds of assessing i.e: designing product, product outcome, and product presentation. An analysis of the results of the performance assessment through peer assessment was conducted and also the similarity of the results performance assessment carried out through the peer assessment and the teacher's assessment at each stage was calculated by comparing the results of the assessment in the same category from the two assessment sources. The results of this study are the average product performance assesment at each stage (designing product: 79; product outcome: 76.4; and product presentation: 82). Meanwhile, the similarity of the results of assessment through peer assessment and teacher assessment at each stage (designing product: 54%; product outcome: 64.7%; and product presentation: 71%). Different experiences in conducting assessments, differences in the interpretation of the scoring rubric and other factors affect the acquisition of the assessment results obtained by students

    The Use of Hedges in Tertiary EFL Students' Presentation

    The main objective of language education is to enable students to communicate effectively. In order to achieve that objective, students need to master pragmatic competence. One of the pragmatic competences which needs to be mastered by students is the ability to use hedging devices. This ability is even more essential for students in tertiary level of education due to the some conventions which need to be followed. Failures in using hedges properly can threat the face of students and other stakeholders in academic contexts. This research aims at investigating how hedges are used by the tertiary students when addressing questions in a discussion session of a presentation. This research is a qualitative research employing interaction analysis method. The participants in this research were nine students of Language in Use course of master of English education program in a state university in Bandung. The findings demonstrate that hedges were found in all questions addressed to the presenters and the lecturer. Introductory phrases were the most frequently-used forms used to hedge and hedges function mostly to attenuate epistemic commitment in addressing questions. Although hedges were used when addressing questions in a discussion session of a presentation, some findings indicate that the hedges were not entirely in line with academic conventions. Based on the findings, the recommendations given are 1) that further research on the use of hedges in academic contexts be conducted, 2) teachers and lecturers raise students’ awareness of the importance of pragmatic competence, and 3) teachers and lecturers give more concerns to provide students with pragmatic competence.Keywords: pragmatic competence, hedges, questions, academic contexts

    CULTURAL CONTENT ANALYSIS OF AN ENGLISH TEXTBOOK FOR SENIOR HIGH SCHOO GRADE THREE IN CIANJUR, WEST JAVA

    This article reports the result of the research investigating cultural content of an English textbook for senior high school grade three in Cianjur, West Java. The data of the research were collected from reading passages in the English textbook for senior high school entitled “Look Ahead”, book three published by Airlangga publisher. To reveal what cultures are represented in the textbook, the cultural contents are categorized into the source culture, the target culture, or the international culture (Cortazzi Jin, 1999). To reveal how the cultures are represented in the textbook, the cultural contents are categorized into the aesthetic sense, the sociological sense, the semantic sense, or the pragmatic sense (Adaskou, Britten Fahsi, 1990). The research finds that the target culture is predominant in the textbook. The investigation found that 77.05% cultural contents refer to the target culture, 13.11% cultural contents refer to the source culture, and 09.84% cultural contents refer to the international culture.  Regarding how cultures are represented in the textbook, generally culture is represented by the aesthetic sense (37.70%), the sociological sense (31.15%), the pragmatic sense (19.67%) and the semantic sense (11.48%). Based on the findings it is recommended that more source culture and international culture be included in the textbook
