LOX/LH2 propulsion system for launch vehicle upper stage, test results
The test results of small LOX/LH2 engines for two propulsion systems, a pump fed system and a pressure fed system are reported. The pump fed system has the advantages of higher performances and higher mass fraction. The pressure fed system has the advantages of higher reliability and relative simplicity. Adoption of these cryogenic propulsion systems for upper stage of launch vehicle increases the payload capability with low cost. The 1,000 kg thrust class engine was selected for this cryogenic stage. A thrust chamber assembly for the pressure fed propulsion system was tested. It is indicated that it has good performance to meet system requirements
Production of Secondaries in High Energy d+Au Collisions
In the framework of Quark-Gluon String Model we calculate the inclusive
spectra of secondaries produced in d+Au collisions at intermediate (CERN SPS)
and at much higher (RHIC) energies. The results of numerical calculations at
intermediate energies are in reasonable agreement with the data. At RHIC
energies numerically large inelastic screening corrections (percolation
effects) should be accounted for in calculations. We extract these effects from
the existing RHIC experimental data on minimum bias and central d+Au
collisions. The predictions for p+Au interactions at LHC energy are also given.Comment: 18 pages and 10 figure
Hemangiopericytoma of the Greater Omentum
A 41-year-old Chinese woman was admitted to our hospital with epigastric pain. Computed tomography detected a heterogeneous enhancement tumor fed by the left gastroepiploic artery in the left lower quadrant and cholelithiasis. Excision of the tumor in the greater omentum and cholecystectomy were performed laparoscopically. Histological findings confirmed a diagnosis of hemangiopericytoma with low-grade malignancy. To our knowledge, hemangiopericytoma of the greater omentum is very rare, and only 12 cases were reported in English literature. We report a case of hemangiopericytoma arising in the greater omentum and review the literature
Quark-Gluon String Model Description of Baryon Production in K^{\pm}N Interactions
The process of baryon production in K p collisions at high energies is
considered in the framework of the Quark-Gluon String Model. The contribution
of the string-junction mechanism to the strange baryon production is analysed.
The results of numerical calculations are in reasonable agreement with the data
on inclusive spectra of p, Lambda, bar{Lambda}, and on the bar{Lambda}/Lambda
asymmetry. The predictions for Xi and Omega baryons are presented.Comment: 19 pages, 7 figure

Xanthogranuloma of the intrasellar region presenting in pituitary dysfunction: a case report
<p>Abstract</p> <p>Introduction</p> <p>Differentiation of cystic mass lesions of the sellar and parasellar regions may pose a diagnostic dilemma for physicians, neurosurgeons, radiologists and pathologists involved in treating patients with these entities. A considerable number of tumors previously identified as craniopharyngiomas may, in fact, have been xanthogranulomas. We report a case of pituitary dysfunction caused by xanthogranuloma of the intrasellar region.</p> <p>Case presentation</p> <p>A 47-year-old man of Japanese descent presented to our institution with a tumor located exclusively in the intrasellar region which manifested as severe hypopituitarism. MRI revealed a clearly defined intrasellar mass that was heterogeneously hyperintense on T1-weighted images and markedly hypointense on T2-weighted images. We preoperatively diagnosed the patient with Rathke's cleft cyst or non-functioning pituitary adenoma. Although the tumor was completely removed using a transsphenoidal approach, the improvement of the patient's endocrine function was marginal, and continued endocrine replacement therapy was needed. Postoperatively, a histological examination revealed the tumor to be a xanthogranuloma of the intrasellar region. His visual field defects and headache improved.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>Because diagnosis depends on surgical intervention and xanthogranulomas of the intrasellar region are very rare, the natural history of xanthogranuloma is still unknown. Therefore, this entity is difficult to diagnose preoperatively. We suggest that xanthogranuloma should be included in the differential diagnosis, even in the case of sellar lesions, to formulate appropriate postoperative management and improve endocrine outcomes.</p
Feynman scaling violation on baryon spectra in pp collisions at LHC and cosmic ray energies
A significant asymmetry in baryon/antibaryon yields in the central region of
high energy collisions is observed when the initial state has non-zero baryon
charge. This asymmetry is connected with the possibility of baryon charge
diffusion in rapidity space. Such a diffusion should decrease the baryon charge
in the fragmentation region and translate into the corresponding decrease of
the multiplicity of leading baryons. As a result, a new mechanism for Feynman
scaling violation in the fragmentation region is obtained. Another numerically
more significant reason for the Feynman scaling violation comes from the fact
that the average number of cutted Pomerons increases with initial energy. We
present the quantitative predictions of the Quark-Gluon String Model (QGSM) for
the Feynman scaling violation at LHC energies and at even higher energies that

Production of secondaries in soft p+pb collisions at LHC
We calculate the inclusive spectra of secondaries produced in soft (minimum
bias) p+Pb collisions in the framework of Quark-Gluon String Model at LHC
energy, and by taking into account the inelastic screening corrections
(percolation effects). The role of these effects is expected to be very large
at very high energies, and they should decrease the spectra about 3 times in
the midrapidity region and increase them about 2 times in the fragmentation
