Molecular Dynamics Simulation for the (Magic Number) Size Effect in Nucleation and Evaporation of Clusters

Cluster formation of Lennard-Jones particles (65, 536 atoms in a unit cell with overall number density equal to 0.0149) was simulated by molecular dynamics. The temperature was controlled to decrease linearly with time by various thermostats, starting from a gas state temperature and ending at zero temperature. Nucleation (aggregation) and evaporation processes of clusters are separately analyzed. No particular size dependence in the former process was found. Evaporation process made the clusters into the stable structure of the particular sizes (13, 19, 23, etc.) in cooperate with cooling the clusters

Molecular dynamics calculation of two clustering processes for atoms of Lennard-Jones (L-J) potential and water molecules is described. One clustering process is under the adiabatic condition from the gas state by lowering of the temperature. Another is thermal decomposition of liquid droplet. The system consists of 8192 L-J atoms or 512 water molecules. Vibrational, rotational, and translational temperature and potential energy were used to analyze the clustering process. A tutoria na Escola Judicial do Tribunal Regional do Trabalho da 2ª Região (EJUD2): percepções de um tutor

This article is a cut from the Master's Dissertation entitled "Management of Distance Education in the Regional Labor Court of the 2nd Region: quality indicators", whose objective was to identify the quality indicators used to guide and understand excellence in production and supply distance courses in work spaces. In this investigation, the course "Introduction to Socioenvironmental Issues", produced by the Judicial School of the Regional Labor Court of the 2nd Region (EJUD2), was analyzed. The research adopted a qualitative approach, developed by means of a case study. However, this text analyzes the perceptions of a tutor who acted in this course in question, since the exercise of the tutoring is considered one of the quality indicators in the scope of the EAD courses offered by the Judicial School of the Regional Labor Court of the 2nd Region (EJUD2). The results showed that the performance of this tutor met the expectations of the students, since several were the contributions that made, influencing positively the results obtained by the students. It was possible to identify by the statements of the tutor that he was helpful, showing himself participatory, promoting debates and bringing new materials that contributed to the learning in the class. The role played by the tutor was fundamental to the proper course. Thus, it was concluded that a committed tutor, with specific training for the performance in this modality and in the area of knowledge approached in the training, becomes essential and contributes directly to the quality of a distance course, be it completely online or hybrid.Este artículo es un recorte de la Disertación de Maestría titulada "Gestión de la educación a distancia en el Tribunal Regional de Trabajo de la 2ª Región: indicadores de calidad", cuyo objetivo fue identificar los indicadores de calidad utilizados para guiar y comprender la excelencia en la producción y el suministro. Cursos a distancia en espacios de trabajo. En esta investigación, se analizó el curso "Introducción a temas socioambientales", producido por la Escuela Judicial del Tribunal Regional de Trabajo de la 2ª Región (EJUD2). La investigación adoptó un enfoque cualitativo, desarrollado mediante un estudio de caso. Sin embargo, este texto analiza las percepciones de un tutor que actuó en este curso, ya que el ejercicio de la tutoría se considera uno de los indicadores de calidad en el alcance de los cursos de EAD ofrecidos por la Escuela Judicial del Tribunal Regional de Trabajo del 2ª Región (EJUD2). Los resultados mostraron que el desempeño de este tutor cumplió con las expectativas de los estudiantes, ya que varias fueron las contribuciones que hicieron, influyendo positivamente en los resultados obtenidos por los estudiantes. Con las declaraciones del tutor, fue posible identificar que él fue útil, mostrándose participativo, promoviendo debates y trayendo nuevos materiales que contribuyeron al aprendizaje en la clase. El papel desempeñado por el tutor fue fundamental para el curso adecuado. Así, se llegó a la conclusión de que un tutor comprometido, con capacitación específica para el desempeño en esta modalidad y en el área de conocimiento abordada en la capacitación, se vuelve esencial y contribuye directamente a la calidad de un curso a distancia, ya sea completamente en línea o híbrido.O presente artigo é um recorte da Dissertação de Mestrado intitulada “Indicadores de Qualidade na Formação Corporativa: Gestão da EaD no Tribunal Regional do Trabalho da 2ª Região”, cujo objetivo foi identificar os indicadores de qualidade utilizados para nortear e compreender a excelência na produção e oferta de cursos a distância em espaços laborais. Analisou-se, nessa investigação, a oferta do curso “Introdução a Temas Socioambientais”, produzido pela Escola Judicial do Tribunal Regional do Trabalho da 2ª Região (EJUD2). A pesquisa adotou uma abordagem qualitativa, desenvolvendo-se por meio de um estudo de caso. Porém, neste texto, analisa-se as percepções de um tutor que atuou nesse curso em questão, uma vez que se considera o exercício da tutoria um dos indicadores de qualidade no âmbito dos cursos de EaD oferecidos pela Escola Judicial do Tribunal Regional do Trabalho da 2ª Região (EJUD2). Os resultados alcançados demonstraram que a atuação desse tutor atendeu às expectativas dos estudantes, uma vez que várias foram as contribuições que desempenhou, influenciando positivamente os resultados obtidos pelos alunos. Foi possível identificar pelas falas do tutor que ele foi prestativo, mostrando-se participativo, promovendo debates e trazendo novos materiais que contribuíram para o aprendizado na turma. O papel desempenhado pelo tutor foi fundamental para o bom encaminhamento do curso. Dessa forma, concluiu-se que um tutor comprometido, com formação específica para a atuação nessa modalidade e na área de conhecimento abordada na formação, torna-se essencial e contribui diretamente para a qualidade de um curso a distância, seja ele completamente online ou híbrido

Developing Data Curation Protocols for Digital Projects at Vanderbilt: Une Micro-Histoire

This paper examines the intersection of legacy digital humanities projects and the ongoing development of research data management services at Vanderbilt University’s Jean and Alexander Heard Library. Future directions for data management and curation protocols are explored through the lens of a case study: the (re)curation of data from an early 2000s e-edition of Raymond Poggenburg’s Charles Baudelaire: Une Micro-histoire. The vagaries of applying the Library of Congress Metadata Object Description Schema (MODS) to the data and metadata of theMicro-histoirewill be addressed. In addition, the balance between curating data and metadata for preservation vs. curating it for (re)use by future researchers is considered in order to suggest future avenues for holistic research data management services at Vanderbilt

GESTÃO ESCOLAR: CONTEXTO E CONSTRUÇÃO

The present study constitutes a cut of the research titled "Management in the Director's and Teachers' Perspective: Case Study in a Public Institution of Professional and Technological Education", developed with the Graduate Program in Education of the University do Oeste Paulista - UNOESTE / SP. The main objective of the present study was to identify and analyze how the director of the public institution of the federal network of professional and technological education comprises the school management. The methodology used to carry out this research was based on the knowledge produced in the texts obtained, based on the survey of scientific publications developed in Brazil, in the last 19 years, between 2000 and 2018, in the database of Scielo (Scientific Electronic Library Online) And in the database of IBICT (Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology). These data were articulated with the data obtained by a semistructured interview with the director of a public institution of the federal network of professional and technological teaching. The main results showed that school management based on democratic management is not understood as a finished process, but in construction, since the pedagogical actions that occur in the school context are still in process. Keywords: School Management; Management Models; Democratic Management.O presente estudo se constitui como um recorte da pesquisa intitulada “Gestão na Perspectiva do Diretor e de Docentes: Estudo de Caso em uma Instituição Pública de Ensino Profissional e Tecnológico”, desenvolvida junto ao Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação da Universidade do Oeste Paulista – UNOESTE/SP. O principal objetivo do estudo aqui apresentado foi identificar e analisar como o diretor da instituição pública da rede federal de ensino profissional e tecnológico compreende a gestão escolar. A metodologia adotada para realização desta investigação utilizou-se dos conhecimentos produzidos nos textos obtidos, a partir do levantamento de publicações científicas, desenvolvidas no Brasil, nos últimos 19 anos, entre 2000 e 2018, na base de dados do Scielo (Scientific Eletronic Library Online) e na base de dados do IBICT (Instituto Brasileiro de Informações em Ciência e Tecnologia). Esses dados foram articulados com os dados obtidos por uma entrevista semiestruturada realizada com o diretor de uma instituição pública da rede federal de ensino profissional e tecnológico. Os principais resultados evidenciaram que a gestão escolar pautada numa gestão democrática não é compreendida como um processo acabado, mas em construção, visto que as ações pedagógicas que ocorrem no contexto escolar estão ainda em processo. Tiny Data: Building a Community of Practice around Humanities Datasets

Quantitative data, the foundation of scientific research, have been in the foreground of discussions about data creation, curation, and publication pipelines. However, data for humanistic and social scientific inquiries take many forms, including physical and ephemeral primary resources (books, objects, performances, interactions); qualitative, free-form observations; as well as quantitative, structured data and metadata. At the Vanderbilt University Jean and Alexander Heard Library, we started the Tiny Data Working Group (TDWG) in 2016 to tackle some of the humanistic research data creation and curation issues in a constructive, collaborative, and interdisciplinary format. The present paper considers what it means to be FAIR with humanities data, as well as how to build a community of data-literate humanists, based on our experiences with the TDWG

As tecnologias de informação e comunicação na prática pedagógica e gestão escolar

O presente artigo apresenta como principal finalidade discutir algumas das especificidades quanto ao uso das Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (TIC) no cotidiano escolar, especialmente, nas práticas pedagógicas e exercício da gestão, enfatizando a necessidade de formação dos gestores escolares para o uso efetivo desses recursos, de forma contextualizada, significativa e crítica. Para o desenvolvimento deste trabalho, optou-se como procedimento metodológico a realização de uma revisão bibliográfica sistemática nas bases de dados Scielo. A escolha por este tipo de pesquisa se deu em função de possibilitar ao pesquisador ter contato com os conhecimentos já produzidos na área de “Tecnologias e Gestão Escolar”, bem como a identificação de suas ideias principais. Realizou-se o levantamento de publicações científicas, produzidas no Brasil, entre 2004 a 2014, que discutem o uso das tecnologias de informação e comunicação na escola, especialmente, articuladas à gestão escolar. Os descritores utilizados foram os seguintes: “Tecnologias na Escola” e “Gestão Escolar”. Como principais resultados obtidos a partir deste estudo, destaca-se a importância do desenvolvimento de processos de formação em serviço que favoreçam aos gestores escolares e respectivas equipes momentos de reflexões em pares e a percepção da necessidade da construção de uma cultura colaborativa e digital no âmbito escolar.This article presents the main purpose discuss some of the specifics regarding the use of Information and Communication Technologies (TIC) in school life, especially in teaching practices and exercise management, emphasizing the need for training of school managers for the effective use of these resources, in context, significant and critically. To develop this study, we chose the methodological procedure to conduct a systematic literature review in SciELO databases. The choice for this type of research was due to enable the researcher to have contact with the knowledge already produced in the "Technologies and School Management", and the identification of its main ideas. We carried out the survey of scientific publications produced in Brazil from 2004 to 2014, discussing the use of information and communication technologies in school, especially, coordinated with the school management. The descriptors used were: "Technologies in School" and "School Management". The main results obtained from this study highlight the importance of developing training processes that promote service to the school managers and their teams moments of reflections in pairs and the perceived need of building a collaborative and digital culture within school.Facultad de Informátic
