    Fundamental limit to Qubit Control with Coherent Field

    The ultimate accuracy as regards controlling a qubit with a coherent field is studied in terms of degradation of the fidelity by employing a fully quantum mechanical treatment. While the fidelity error accompanied by pi/2 pulse control is shown to be inversely proportional to the average photon number in a way similar to that revealed by the Gea-Banacloche's results. Our results show that the error depends strongly on the initial state of the qubit. When the initial state of the qubit is in the ground state, the error is about 20 times smaller than that of the control started from the exited state, no matter how large N is. This dependency is explained in the context of an exact quantum mechanical description of the pulse area theorem. By using the result, the error accumulation tendency of successive pulse controls is found to be both non-linear and initial state-dependent.Comment: 9 pages, 3 figures, to appear in PR

Wall interference of this type can be avoided by giving the wall the form of a stream surface that would be identical to the one observed during free flight.     High-fidelity cluster state generation for ultracold atoms in an optical lattice

    We propose a method for generating high-fidelity multipartite spin-entanglement of ultracold atoms in an optical lattice in a short operation time with a scalable manner, which is suitable for measurement-based quantum computation. To perform the desired operations based on the perturbative spin-spin interactions, we propose to actively utilize the extra degrees of freedom (DOFs) usually neglected in the perturbative treatment but included in the Hubbard Hamiltonian of atoms, such as, (pseudo-)charge and orbital DOFs. Our method simultaneously achieves high fidelity, short operation time, and scalability by overcoming the following fundamental problem: enhancing the interaction strength for shortening operation time breaks the perturbative condition of the interaction and inevitably induces unwanted correlations among the spin and extra DOFs.Comment: 9 pages, 11 figure

    Flank face texture design to suppress chatter vibration in cutting

    Process damping is useful in improving chatter stability in a low cutting speed range. This paper presents a texture design on tool flank faces that can effectively generate process damping. A convex structure on the flank face dampens chatter vibration even at general cutting speeds. An orthogonal cutting simulation utilizing a finite element analysis was conducted to estimate process damping force coefficients that are the functions of cutting and vibration conditions and tool geometry. Sufficient damping effect was predicted using the proposed texture via a chatter stability analysis in frequency domain.     SIMILARITY MEASUREMENT OF ECONOMIC TRENDS IN CENTRAL EUROPE: BUSINESS CYCLES’ CORRELATION OF GERMANY, HUNGARY, THE CZECH REPUBLIC AND CROATIA

    Autori su u radu određivali relaciju Hrvatske prema njemačkom gospodarstvu i učinili usporedbu sa dvjema naprednijim tranzicijskim zemljama u razdoblju 1992.-1999. Usporedba gospodarstva provedena je usporedbom poslovnih ciklusa predočenih ciklusom nezaposlenosti u Njemačkoj, Mađarskoj, Češkoj i Hrvatskoj. Tom svojom analizom pokazali su da postoji uska povezanost cikličkoga kretanja nezaposlenosti u sve tri zemlje s cikličkim kretanjima nezaposlenosti u Njemačkoj. Najvažniji domet tih istraživanja jest to što je već poznatim rezultatima o uskoj povezanosti cikličkih kretanja u Srednjoj Europi sada pridodan i nalaz za Hrvatsku.Following the researches done by Laurence Boone and Mathilde Maurel (1998, 1999) about monetary union of Central European countries with Germany or European Union, the research curiosity directed us to discovery of connections of Croatian and German economy, and the average of the European Union. Boone and Maurel (1999) concluded that the benefit of common monetary policy of transitional countries exceeds the costs. The paper determines only relation of Croatia towards German economy and it is made a comparison with two more progressive transitional countries. Comparison of economy has been carried out by comparison of business cycles, illustrated by unemployment cycle in observed countries. By using the Hodrick-Prescott filter in order to remove trend-components from the time series of unemployment in Germany, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Croatia, the authors proved close correlation of cyclical unemployment movement in all three countries with the cyclical unemployment movement in Germany. Besides, they suggested the similarity of reactions of business cycle in three observed transitional countries during 24 months after initial shock which had originated from German economy, and even larger similarity in reaction to shock during the first 12 months. The authors are careful because the results lead to conclusion that the observed countries in Mundell’s sense are optimal currency area. They point out the possibilty that cyclical coordination is endogenous, i.e. that it is a consequence of implicit or explicit exchange rate pegging of more progressive transitional countries to exchange rate of German mark during the most of period comprised by analysis (1992-1999). However the paper does not deny the importance of results about cyclical coordination for consideration of optimal currency regime. It is pointedout that the most important in research is the fact that to the already known results about close correlation of cyclical movements in Central Europe is added now the report for Croatia which shows close cyclical correlation of unemployment with Germany

Recent advancement in computational and 5 experimental techniques has enabled a large number of interesting observations and understanding of heat transfer processes at the nanoscale. In this review, we will first discuss recent advances in computational and experimental methods used in nanoscale thermal transport studies, followed by reviews of novel thermal transport phenomena at the nanoscale observed in both computational and experimental studies, and discussion on current understanding of these novel 10 phenomena.     黒住教は江戸時代後期に黒住宗忠(1780-1850)によって岡山で組織された神道系の民衆宗教である。宗忠は自己の全生命と太陽神天照大神が合一する神秘体験から、神人不二の妙理を悟り、天照大神を万物の根源年、人間すべて平等に神の子であるとする現世利益の教説を説いた。彼の死後、弟子の努力で宗忠にたいし吉田神社より大明神号をうけることができた。黒住教は岡山藩内から次第に教線をひろげたが、その布教は丹後田辺藩領にもひろがっていた。その実態を田辺牧野家領の裁判記録を通じて明らかにすることができる。民衆の歴史史料として、裁判記録の利用がいかに有効であるかを実験してみた。記録自身は為政者の手になるもきてはあるが、そこに反映されているのは、吟味を受けた領民の信仰の姿である。それを通じて江戸後期の民衆の精神活動と行動がいかに活発てあったか,その行動範囲がいかに広かったかをしることができた。また、信仰を通じて血縁・経済活動などの民衆のネットが存在したことや、村を追放された罪人が父母や家族への孝養・介護の為に御構い場所にたちかえっている実態なども明らかになった。丹後田辺藩は他藩と比べて、異常なまでに他国からの宗教者の入国を拒否した藩であるが、その田辺藩にあってさえ、領民の新興民衆宗教への受容熱我根強かったことは驚くほどである。以上のように、裁判記録は民衆史の史料として大いに役立つことがあきらかである。The Kurozumikyo was a Shinto-oriented religious sect, founded by Kurozumi Munetada in Okayama. He went through on a mysterious experience, in which all his life was united with Amaterasu-omikami as God of the Sun. So he preached that God and human-being are one, and that Amaterasu-omikami is the root of creation all, and all human-being are chldren of God equally, and can enjoy happiness of this world. After his death he was receipt dignity of God by Yoshida shrine in Kyoto. The Kurozumikyo were expanding out round of Okayama, reached into Tango-Tanabe clan.
