Competent and committed teachers are demand of today’s revolutionary era to increase the effectiveness of educational institutions. We live in a high tech and high demanding age. There are sudden challenges in all walks of life, including education. This study was conducted to explore the professional commitment of teachers (teacher educators) working in Govt. Colleges for Elementary Teacher Institutions in Punjab. Three hundred and twenty teacher-educators (200 males and 120 females) were selected through proportionate random sampling from the population of 540 teacher educators. To collect data a questionnaire, Professional Commitment Questionnaire for teacher educators (PCQ-TE) was developed. The descriptive and inferential statistics i.e. t-test and ANOVA were applied for data analysis. The results revealed that the commitment towards the teaching profession increases with the increase of experience. Female teachers were more committed as compared to male teachers. Keeping in view the findings of the study, it was recommended that the social and financial status of male teachers’ educators should be enhanced for increasing their commitment level. There should be proper provision of resources and training regarding professional development of rural teachers

Dramatic changes happen in the world. People and organizations face problems with these changes. The ones who have everything planned in case of emergencies; survive, and the ones who do not plan it right, have a chance of falling. Today, a lot of organizations suffer because of the Covid-19 global pandemic, even the largest organizations in Dubai like Roads and Transport Authority. Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is one of the largest government entities and the sole planner and executer of all transport, road, and traffic projects in Dubai. It has happiness centers which register all the cars that are in Dubai. Those centers capacity is reduced because of this disease which led to making the long queues for customers. Customer’s satisfaction is one the main priorities of these centers. Not having this problem solved; will increase the number of unsatisfied customers. In this capstone project, I propose to explore the data of the registered cars then predict the upcoming customers. By predicting customers, we will solve all the problems that the organization is facing in this pandemic and plan for future dramatic scenarios

Objectives: This study aimed at assessing the clinical features and haematological parameters in sickler Sudanese patients attending El Obeid Hospitals in North Kordofan, Sudan. Materials and Methods: Eighty five patients with homozygous sickle cell (SS) disease, (both sexes) were included in this study. Their age ranged between 6 months to 42 years. Forty persons were used as control. Clinical manifestations were recorded at examination. Freshly obtained blood samples from patients and control were used to estimate haematological parameters which included: haemoglobin concentration (Hb), packed cell volume (PCV), red blood cell count (RBC), white blood cell count (WBC), mean corpuscular haemoglobin (MCH), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (E.S.R).                Results: The clinical investigations revealed that all patients presented with painful crisis, 96.5% had chronic anemia, 84.7% had recurrent malaria and 81.2% had different infections (76% was chest infection). 32.9% of the sickle cell disease (SCD) patients had no blood transfusion, while the rest had blood transfused once to five times. Haematological measurement indicate that all SCD patients in this study were reported anaemic, and their Hb, PCV and RBC count were significantly lower (P<0.001) compared with the control group, while WBC count and MCV were significantly higher (P<0.001, P<0.01). In this study the prevalence of SCD in Misseria tribe (24.7%) was highest compared to other tribes. Conclusion: This study affirmed the problem of sickle cell disease in Kordofan state, which should draw attention toward the need of further studies

AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE CURRENT MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING PRACTICES AND THE CONTINGENT ASPECTS THAT HAVE PROMPTED SAUDI AND NON-SAUDI MANUFACTURING FIRMS TO ADOPT OR NOT ADOPT MODERN MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING SYSTEMS: THE CASE OF THE EASTERN PROVINCE OF SAUDI ARABIA

    Get PDF
This research has investigated the current application of management accounting practices in Saudi and non-Saudi manufacturing firms that operate in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, and the internal and external contingent aspects that prompted these firms to adopt or not to adopt advanced management accounting practices. In order to achieve the aforementioned aims, a mixed methodology was used, with a questionnaire survey and semi-structured interviews being used as instruments for collecting the required data. Three types of statistical analysis were used (descriptive, bivariate and multivariate) to analyse the data obtained from the returned questionnaires (158 out of 260). Analysis of the descriptive parts of the questionnaires has shown that Saudi and non-Saudi manufacturing firms are still loyal to their traditional management accounting practices, such as the extensive use of one accounting system for several purposes, traditional allocation methods, traditional decision-making tools, standard costing systems, traditional budgeting, and traditional financial measures. At the same time, the analysis has shown that there is slow move toward adopting new trends in management accounting among these firms, mainly due to satisfaction with traditional management accounting practices and a lack of relevant skill regarding the advanced management accounting practices. The bivariate results have shown that adoption of advanced management accounting practices by Saudi and non-Saudi manufacturing firms is subject to certain contingent aspects, such as perceived environmental uncertainty, competition, size and firm strategy, but not product range or number. The same statistical test has shown that there is a partial relationship between the extent of adoption of advanced management accounting practices, culture, and advanced manufacturing technologies. The results of the multivariate test have shown that adoption of advanced management accounting practices by Saudi and non-Saudi manufacturing firms is related to only three predictors, which are size, number of products, and prospector strategy. Theoretical analysis of the interviews has revealed that adoption of advanced management accounting practices is due to perceived environmental uncertainty, price and quality competition, size, number of products, culture, and firm strategy, but not advanced manufacturing technology. Also, analysis of the interviews has confirmed the descriptive finding regarding the heavy use of traditional management accounting practices. The research concludes by emphasising that the case of the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia follows the mainstream in regards to the limited acceptance of advanced management accounting practices and the fact that adoption of these practices is due to certain internal and external contingent drivers

Performance Assessment of Pareto and Non-Pareto Approaches for the Optimal Allocation of DG and DSTATCOM in the Distribution System

    Get PDF
This paper proposes a Differential Evolution (DE) optimization algorithm and a Pareto-frontier Multi-Objective Differential Evolution (MODE) optimization algorithm for the optimal allocation of Distributed Generation (DG) and Distribution Static Compensator (DSTATCOM) in a radial distribution system. It considers the minimization of active power dissipation, voltage drop and the annual cost as the objectives of this optimization problem. The proposed techniques are tested on an IEEE 33 bus radial distribution system. To compare the performance of the MODE and DE, the weighted sum approach is carried out. This helps to select one solution from the Pareto front of the MODE. Case studies show that the allocation of both DG and DSTATCOM results in a noticeable reduction of system losses, voltage drop and annual cost. Comparative studies also show that the global convergence characteristics of MODE are better than several other optimization algorithms
