Slepton Flavor Nonuniversality, the Muon EDM and its Proposed sensitive Search at Brookhaven
We analyze the electric dipole moment of the electron (), of the neutron
() and of the muon () using the cancellation mechanism in the
presence of nonuniversalities of the soft breaking parameters. It is shown that
the nonuniversalities in the slepton sector produce a strong violation of the
scaling relation in the cancellation region. An
analysis of and under the constraints of the current
experimental limits on and and under the constraints of the recent
Brookhaven result on shows that in the non-scaling region
can be as large as ()ecm and thus within reach of the
recently proposed Brookhaven experiment for a sensitive search for at
the level of ecm.Comment: 24 pages, Latex, including 5 figures with additional reference
Effects of CP Violation on Event Rates in the Direct Detection of Dark Matter
A full analytic analysis of the effects of CP violating phases on the event
rates in the direct detection of dark matter in the scattering of neutralinos
from nuclear targets is given. The analysis includes CP violating phases in
softly broken supersymmetry in the framework of the minimal supersymmetric
standard model (MSSM) when generational mixings are ignored. A numerical
analysis shows that large CP violating phases including the constraints from
the experimental limits on the neutron and the electron electric dipole moment
(EDM) can produce substantial effects on the event rates in dark matter
detectors.Comment: 17 pages, LaTex, including 2 figures; revised version to appear in

The Gompertz flexible Weibull distribution and its applications
This paper introduces the Gompertz flexible Weibull distribution as an extension of the flexible Weibull distribution. Its various statistical properties are obtained and established while the method of maximum likelihood estimation is used in estimating the unknown model parameters. The application of Gompertz flexible Weibull distribution is illustrated by making use of three real life data sets, this is done to demonstrate its potentials over some other important distributions like the Gompertz Weibull, Gompertz Burr type XII, Gompertz Lomax, exponentiated flexible Weibull, exponentiated flexible Weibull extension and Kumaraswamy flexible Weibull distributions. Simulation studies were also conducted and the behavior of the Gompertz flexible Weibull parameters were investigated
Mixing of the CP Even and the CP Odd Higgs Bosons and the EDM Constraints
The mixing among the CP even and the CP odd neutral Higgs bosons of MSSM by
one loop induced effects in the presence of CP phases is investigated using
three different mechanisms to satisfy the EDM constraints, i.e., a fine tuning
of phases, a heavy sparticle spectrum, and the cancellation mechanism. It is
shown that if a mixing effect among the CP even and the CP odd Higgs bosons is
observed experimentally, then it is only the cancellation mechanism that can
survive under the naturalness constraint.Comment: 14 pages, Latex and 4figures. A new paragraph is added and few more

Aflatoxin Total and Microbial Contamination of Grains, Oil Seeds, Yam Chips and Fish Sold in Maiduguri Market
Aflatoxins are secondary metabolites of fungus Aspergillus flavus and closely related species that infects severalagricultural commodities. The consumption of contaminated commodities adversely affects the health of humansand animals and also a cause of significant economic losses to producers. This study surveyed the aflatoxincontamination level of cowpea, maize, melon, groundnut, yam chips and fish sold in Maiduguri metropolis.Samples from each product (250 g) were bulked and thoroughly mixed using coning and quartering method to geta representative sample for analysis. Laboratory observations were carried out regarding microbial analysis, proximate composition and aflatoxin content. Samples for aflatoxin detection were classified into three; unsortedsamples, sorted samples and sorted/washed dried samples. Fish had the highest bacterial load 2.48 x 106 cfu/ml andAspergillus species were found to be the predominant fungi identified. Maize and groundnut with moisture contentof 5.63 and 5.62 had the highest total aflatoxin contamination (320.51 μg/kg and 236.3 μg/kg respectively) both inthe unsorted group. Total aflatoxin reduction of (58.82 - 99.99%) was observed in all the sorted samples andsorted/washed dried samples. It can be concluded that commonly sold food in Maiduguri had fungal and Aflatoxincontamination. Food should undergo several rounds of sorting to remove discoloured grains and grains that showsevidence(s) of deterioration to reduce the ingestion of food contaminated with aflatoxin
Effects of Large CP violating phases on g_{\m}-2 in MSSM
Effects of CP violation on the supersymmetric electro-weak correction to the
anomalous magnetic moment of the muon are investigated with the most general
allowed set of CP violating phases in MSSM. The analysis includes contributions
from the chargino and the neutralino exchanges to the muon anomaly. The
supersymmetric contributions depend only on specific combinations of CP phases.
The independent set of such phases is classified. We analyse the effects of the
phases under the EDM constraints and show that large CP violating phases can
drastically affect the magnitude of the supersymmetric electro-weak
contribution to and may even affect its overall sign.Comment: 26 pages Latex file including 4 figure
A Resolution to the Supersymmetric CP Problem with Large Soft Phases via D-branes
We examine the soft supersymmetry breaking parameters that result from
various ways of embedding the Standard Model (SM) on D-branes within the Type I
string picture, allowing the gaugino masses and to have large CP-
violating phases. One embedding naturally provides the relations among soft
parameters to satisfy the electron and neutron electric dipole moment
constraints even with large phases, while with other embeddings large phases
are not allowed. The string models provide some motivation for large phases in
the soft breaking parameters. The results generally suggest how low energy data
might teach us about Planck scale physics.Comment: 11 pages, 2 eps figures; revised references and updated tex
Supersymmetric CP Violation in in Minimal Supergravity Model
Direct CP asymmetries and the CP violating normal polarization of lepton in
inclusive decay B \to X_s l^+ l^- are investigated in minimal supergravity
model with CP violating phases. The contributions coming from exchanging
neutral Higgs bosons are included. It is shown that the direct CP violation in
branching ratio, A_{CP}^1, is of {\cal{O}}(10^{-3}) for l=e, \mu, \tau. The CP
violating normal polarization for l=\mu can reach 0.5 percent when tan\beta is
large (say, 36). For l=\tau and in the case of large \tan\beta, the direct CP
violation in backward-forward asymmetry, A_{CP}^2, can reach one percent, the
normal polarization of \tau can be as large as a few percent, and both are
sensitive to the two CP violating phases, \phi_\mu and \phi_{A_0}, and
consequently it could be possible to observe them (in particular, the normal
polarization of \tau) in the future B factories.Comment: 14 pages, latex, 5 figure
Phases in the gaugino sector: direct reconstruction of the basic parameters and impact on the neutralino pair production
We consider recovering analytically the (generally complex) parameters ,
and of the gaugino and Higgsino Lagrangian, from appropriate
physical input in the chargino and neutralino sectors. For given ,
we obtain very simple analytic solutions for , , in the
chargino sector and a twofold , analytic solution in the
neutralino sector, assuming two chargino, two neutralino masses, and one of the
chargino mixing angles as physical input. The twofold ambiguity in the
neutralino parameters reconstruction may be essentially resolved by measuring
the production cross-section at future linear
collider energies, which we study explicitly with the phase dependences. Some
salient features and specific properties of this complex case gaugino "spectrum
inversion" are illustrated and compared with the similar inversion in the real
case. In particular, our algorithms exhibit in a direct and transparent way the
non-trivial theoretical correlation among the chargino and neutralino
parameters, and the resulting allowed domains when only a subset of the
required physical input masses and production cross-sections is known.Comment: Latex, 28 pages, 10 figure
