For the purpose of improving the spring properties of plain 60/40 brass, iron, aluminium, manganese, nickel, cadmium and tin were added to the alloy, and the alloys of Cu-Mn-Ni and Cu-Fe series were also examined. The conclusion obtained was as follows : (1) Among those elements, iron, manganese, aluminium, and tin were considered to be favorable to the purpose, and a satisfactory result might be obtained by increasing each content, unless injuring other practical processing. (2) The alloys of Cu-Mn-Ni series might be expected as the high heat-resistant spring material. (3) The alloys of Cu-Fe series also could be hopeful of spring materials, provided that those were suitably heat-treated during the manufacturing processes

From the previous work, iron, manganese and tin were chosen as the third alloying elements in order to improve the spring property of plain 60/40 brass. The effects of the respective elements on spring properties and bending characteristics (formability) of 60/40 brass sheet were compared with each other. Those elements not only improved the spring properties remarkably, but also extended the suitable range of low-temperature annealing as compared with the case of plain 60/40 brass. The present results showed that manganese and tin would be the most favorable elements for practical purposes

Improvement of Copper Alloy Springs. III : Secular Change in Spring Materials of Brass Series

One of the most unfavorable defects of a spring sheet of brass is that the spring properties change with time even at room temperature after final cold-working or low-temperature annealing. An investigation was made into the possibility to suppress the so-called secular change after low-temperature annealing. The change after low-temperature annealing was considered to be related to that after final cold-rolling. The secular change after cold-rolling showed a tendency to stabilize the spring properties and, when a rolled brass plate was annealed at low-temperature after it was allowed to remain at room temperature for a time long enough for stabilization, the change after low-temperature annealing became less. The secular change in two-phase brass, namely, 60/40 brass could be considered as a combined effect of α- and β-brass, though β-brass showed more complicated change than α-brass. All the experiments were carried out at room temperature and at the constant temperatures of 25°and 40℃

The number of child abuses is increased, not to apply the brakes to decrease. Child Guidance Center and the police, such as public institutions and local officials have taken the network systems. However, the situation is that it has not yet reached to the point of prevention. A young mother had left the newborn in a fallow field. Maybe her family was aware of the pregnancy of hers. But she did not want to be scold for it from anyone. She did not consult to anyone. The newborn happened to have be founded by a local farmer. It had been transported to the hospital. The baby steadily recovered then he was moved from the hospital to the infant home. The judiciary is required not only she is fit or not to the mother who can bring up her baby, what is the best punishment for the mother but also the future of the baby and the mother

Isopeptide bond formation mediated by δ-selenolysine for chemical ubiquitination

Protein ubiquitination is involved in nearly all biological processes in Eukaryotes. To gain precise insights into the function of ubiquitination in these processes, researchers frequently employ ubiquitinated protein probes with well-defined structures. While chemical protein synthesis has afforded a variety of ubiquitinated protein probes, there remains a demand for efficient synthesis methods for complex probes, such as ubiquitinated glycoproteins and ubiquitinated cysteine-containing proteins. In this study, we introduce a new method to obtain ubiquitinated proteins through isopeptide bond formation mediated by δ-selenolysine residues. We synthesized δ-selenolysine derivatives in both L- and D-forms starting from DL-δ-hydroxy-DL-lysine, accomplished by substituting the δ-mesylate with KSeCN and by enzymatic optical resolution with L- and D-aminoacylase. We synthesized ubiquitin (46–76)-α-hydrazide with a δ-seleno-L-lysine residue at position 48, as well as ubiquitin (46–76)-α-thioester, using solid-phase peptide synthesis. Subsequently, the δ-selenolysine-mediated ligation of these peptides, followed by one-pot deselenization, provided the desired isopeptide-linked ubiquitin peptide. The new δ-selenolysine-mediated isopeptide bond formation offers an alternative method to obtain complex ubiquitin- and ubiquitin-like probes with multiple post-translational modifications. These probes hold promise for advancing our understanding of ubiquitin biology

Involvement of the cerebellum in classical fear conditioning in goldfish

To investigate the cognitive role of the cerebellum of fish, we conducted experiments examining effects of cerebellar manipulations on fear-related classical heart rate conditioning in goldfish. We performed two types of manipulations, one was total ablation of the corpus cerebelli and the other was localized cooling of the corpus cerebelli for reversible inactivation of the cerebellar function. Both the cardiac arousal response to the first presentation of the conditioned stimulus and the cardiac reflex to the aversive unconditioned stimulus were not impaired by the ablation or cooling of the corpus cerebelli. On the other hand, inactivation of cerebellar function severely impaired the acquisition of a conditioned cardiac response in the fear-related conditioning. In addition, localized cooling of the corpus cerebelli reversibly suppressed the expression of established conditioned response. We suggest that the cerebellum of fish is not only being a motor coordination center but also is involved in emotional learning
