Research on the making of Japanese language class to build <Authentic Learning>: "Zhuangzi" as a teaching material

This paper summarizes the results of research conducted to clarify the inner facts and methods of creating a Japanese language class that builds "authentic learning". In this research, first of all, we focused on the use of "language perspectives and ideas", which are considered to be unique to Japanese language studies, and searched for the specifics of them using "Zhuangzi" as a teaching material. By focusing on words that are different from previous learning ("人皆" and "此獨") , learning for modern social and cultural problems and individual problems that live in society and groups, it became clear that people can deepen their thoughts

Semi-autonomous avatar enabling unconstrained parallel conversations --seamless hybrid of WOZ and autonomous dialogue systems--

Many people are now engaged in remote conversations for a wide variety of scenes such as interviewing, counseling, and consulting, but there is a limited number of skilled experts. We propose a novel framework of parallel conversations with semi-autonomous avatars, where one operator collaborates with several remote robots or agents simultaneously. The autonomous dialogue system mostly manages the conversation, but switches to the human operator when necessary. This framework circumvents the requirement for autonomous systems to be completely perfect. Instead, we need to detect dialogue breakdown or disengagement. We present a prototype of this framework for attentive listening

本稿は、「深い学び」を構築する国語科授業づくりの内実や方法を明らかにするために行った研究の成果をまとめたものである。本研究では，まず国語科特有のものとされている「言葉による見方・考え方」を働かせることに注目し、その具体を、『荘子』「応帝王第七」「渾沌」を教材として探っていった。これまでの学習とは異なった言葉（「人皆」 と「此獨」）に着目することで，近現代の社会的，文化的な問題や社会や集団の中で生きる個の問題に対する，学習者の「思いや考え」を深めることができることが明らかとなった

Identification of diabetes susceptibility loci in db mice by combined quantitative trait loci analysis and haplotype mapping

To identify the disease-susceptibility genes of type 2 diabetes, we performed quantitative trait loci (QTL) analysis in F2 populations generated from a BKS.Cg-m+/+Leprdb and C3H/HeJ intercross, taking advantage of genetically determined obesity and diabetes traits associated with the db gene. A genome-wide scan in the F2 populations divided by sex and db genotypes identified 14 QTLs in total and 3 major QTLs on chromosome (Chr) 3 (LOD 5.78) for fat pad weight, Chr 15 (LOD 6.64) for body weight, and Chr 16 (LOD 8.15) for blood glucose concentrations. A linear-model-based genome scan using interactive covariates allowed us to consider sex- or sex-by db-specific effects of each locus. For the most significant QTL on Chr 16, the high-resolution haplotype comparison between BKS and C3H strains reduced the critical QTL interval from 20 to 4.6 Mb by excluding shared haplotype regions and identified 11 nonsynonymous single-nucleotide polymorphisms in six candidate genes

Eosinophilic myocarditis without hypereosinophilia accompanied by giant cell infiltration

AbstractA 53-year-old woman with a history of allergic disease was admitted to our hospital because of syncope induced by sustained ventricular tachycardia. The clinical course and the laboratory data did not correspond to those of acute myocarditis. Although eosinophils in the peripheral blood count were not increased, the diagnosis of eosinophilic myocarditis was made following a right ventricular endomyocardial biopsy that showed a remarkable infiltration of eosinophils. While giant cells were another histopathological feature of this case, they were considered to be an expression of the disease severity. This is a rare case of eosinophilic myocarditis, without peripheral eosinophilia.<Learning objective: Eosinophils in the peripheral blood usually increase in eosinophilic myocarditis. We describe a case of eosinophilic myocarditis without hypereosinophilia. Even in the absence of hypereosinophilia, endomyocardial biopsy should be performed during the investigation of unexplained myocardial disease.
