Introduction. Patients with hormone-receptor-positive (HR+) breast cancer (BC) over 40 years old who take tamoxifen are not subject to mandatory castration. However this cohort of patients is not homogeneous.Aim. The present study is aimed at studying the features of ovarian steroidogenesis in perimenopausal breast cancer patients receiving adjuvant hormone therapy (HT) with tamoxifen.Materialy and methods. The study included 82 patients aged 42 to 53 years with GH+BC who received HT with tamoxifen 20 mg daily. Within 9 months from the start of HT in patients, the levels of estradiol and follicle-stimulating hormone in the peripheral blood were studied every 3 months.Results. In 66.7% of patients who received chemotherapy (CT), the development of amenorrhea was noted. Half of the patients in the HT-only group demonstrated amenorrhea. Oligomenorrhea was observed in 20.8% and 16.7% in each group, respectively. The incidence of amenorrhea in women treated with chemotherapy was higher (OR 2.02; 95% CI: 0.73-5.67), but the differences were not statistically significant (p = 0.1766). In the general cohort, in 15.7-16.8% of patients, the level of estradiol exceeded 251 pg / ml - the upper limit of the norm of the follicular phase of the menstrual cycle. Differences between groups in the incidence of estradiol levels > 251 pg/ml were statistically significant (p = 0.0293). 3.4-5.6% of patients in the total cohort (depending on the period of observation) had an estradiol level > 649 pg / ml, which corresponded to the highest ovulatory value.Conclusions. Against the background of HT with tamoxifen in some perimenopausal patients hyperestrogenism is observed which indicates the implementation of the effect of induction of ovarian steroidogenesis and can be considered as an additional potential risk factor for the progression of HR+BC. Amenorrhea after CT is not a reliable marker of ovarian suppression

In this pilot trial we analyzed the correlation between neoangiogenesis and psychological status in ovarian cancer patients. We found the correlation between depression levels and serum vascular endothelial growth factor levels in ovarian cancer patients – coefficient of rank correlation (ρ) was 0.42 (95 % confidence interval 0.01–0.72; р < 0,05), that suggests the relationship between this parameters

© 2016, Springer Science+Business Media New York.Novel materials with a variety of properties, such as biocompatibility, antibacterial activity, interconnected porosity, and functionalities combined in one, are required for regenerative medicine. Porous β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) ceramics doped with Cu2+, Zn2+, Ag+, and Fe3+ ions in the concentrations of less than 0.5 wt.% were synthesized and investigated. The obtained samples were analyzed by the diversity of analytical tools. The structure, solubility, and antimicrobial properties of the porous ceramics are shown to be very sensitive to the presence and the type of the cationic substituent. It opens the way to manage structure and properties of the materials for bone tissue regeneration by co-doping of the initial matrix simultaneously with different types of substituent ions

The public demand for quality or quality education is increasing. This phenomenon is at least influenced by two main factors namely; factors of globalization challenges and parents' awareness of the need for quality or quality education for their children. Another phenomenon that is not less interesting, today many schools are qualified and give more religious content became the first choice for parents, this condition is a challenge as well as opportunities for Senior High School  (MA) Muhammadiyah Metro City to rise from the shackles of dualism that is artificial and dualism management at once showcasing the various advantages that can be an attraction at the same time can invite public interest to make this institution as an option for the continuation of their children's education. This study aims to analyze management and strategy Implementation of the curriculum in realizing Senior High School (MA) Muhammadiyah Metro City Becomes a Superior School. This type of research is descriptive qualitative in which the data collection in this study was conducted by the method of observation, interview, and documentation study. Data that have been collected is then analyzed descriptively qualitative to then drawn conclusions. The results of this study will show that the management and implementation strategy of the curriculum in realizing Senior High School Muhammadiyah Metro City becomes a superior school. The results of this study recommend to management tiem in the implementation of the curriculum in realizing Senior High School Muhammadiyah Metro City Becomes a Superior School

Molecular mechanism of MLL PHD3 and RNA recognition by the Cyp33 RRM domain

The nuclear protein cyclophilin 33 (Cyp33) is a peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase that catalyzes cis-trans isomerization of the peptide bond preceding a proline and promotes folding and conformational changes in folded and unfolded proteins. The N-terminal RNA-recognition motif (RRM) domain of Cyp33 has been found to associate with the third plant homeodomain (PHD3) finger of the mixed lineage leukemia (MLL) proto-oncoprotein and a poly(A) RNA sequence. Here, we report a 1.9 A resolution crystal structure of the RRM domain of Cyp33 and describe the molecular mechanism of PHD3 and RNA recognition. The Cyp33 RRM domain folds into a five-stranded antiparallel beta-sheet and two alpha-helices. The RRM domain, but not the catalytic module of Cyp33, binds strongly to PHD3, exhibiting a 2 muM affinity as measured by isothermal titration calorimetry. NMR chemical shift perturbation (CSP) analysis and dynamics data reveal that the beta strands and the beta2-beta3 loop of the RRM domain are involved in the interaction with PHD3. Mutations in the PHD3-binding site or deletions in the beta2-beta3 loop lead to a significantly reduced affinity or abrogation of the interaction. The RNA-binding pocket of the Cyp33 RRM domain, mapped on the basis of NMR CSP and mutagenesis, partially overlaps with the PHD3-binding site, and RNA association is abolished in the presence of MLL PHD3. Full-length Cyp33 acts as a negative regulator of MLL-induced transcription and reduces the expression levels of MLL target genes MEIS1 and HOXA9. Together, these in vitro and in vivo data provide insight into the multiple functions of Cyp33 RRM and suggest a Cyp33-dependent mechanism for regulating the transcriptional activity of MLL
