Study on the process of Fe (III) oxide fluorination

    Get PDF
The article deals with a fundamentally new fluoride technology for obtaining fluoride materials, provides data on the kinetics of the process of fluorination of Fe oxide with fluorine, fluoride and ammonium bifluoride. The physical and chemical properties of obtained fluorides are shown: a study of the elemental composition, grain-size composition using the method of scanning electron microscopy and laser diffraction

Classical Cepheids: Yet another version of the Baade-Becker-Wesselink method

We propose a new version of the Baade--Becker--Wesselink technique, which allows one to independently determine the colour excess and the intrinsic colour of a radially pulsating star, in addition to its radius, luminosity, and distance. It is considered to be a generalization of the Balona approach. The method also allows the function F(CI) = BC + 10 log (Teff) for the class of pulsating stars considered to be calibrated. We apply this technique to a number of classical Cepheids with very accurate light and radial-velocity curves and with bona fide membership in open clusters (SZ Tau, CF Cas, U Sgr, DL Cas, GY Sge), and find the results to agree well with the reddening estimates of the host open clusters. The new technique can also be applied to other pulsating variables, e.g. RR Lyrae and RV Tauri.Comment: 6 pages, 2 figures, 1 table; Submitted to Astrophysical Bulletin, 201

New FEM - Programs for modeling coupled processes of selective vapor condensation during laser processing of materials

This research presents a computer model for conjugate heat and mass transfer during laser processing of materials. The computer programs based on FEM, which allow to predict the processes of formation of evaporation and condensation zones on the surface areas surrounding the crater are implemented. There is the presence of three modes of operation, differing in the configuration of evaporation zones - condensation. The identified control parameters change modes. A phase diagram for the implementation of process modes is proposed. Finally, the research discusses the possibility of managing the process. Β© 2020 American Institute of Physics Inc.. Fluoride technology of obtaining REM magnetic alloys and master alloys

    Get PDF
Rare earth permanent magnets (REPM) based on neodymium-Fe-boron system are the most promising, since they have the highest magnetic and satisfactory mechanical characteristics. The paper covers physical-chemical principles and shows the results of experimental studies of the process of obtaining REM alloys and master alloys using fundamentally new fluoride technology based on ladle calciothermal REM fluorides and Fe reduction

Development of FEM - Programs for modeling the processes of synthesis by powder metallurgy

The finite element method (FEM) analyzes the features of the spatial distribution of Joule heat in two-phase matrix systems with round inclusions. It was found that in the processes of sintering peaks of heat generation power are formed at certain points of the medium. It is proposed to use the observed phenomenon for the formation of anisotropic and gradient materials. Β© 2020 American Institute of Physics Inc.. All rights reserved

Rare earth elements materials production from apatite ores

    Get PDF
The paper deals with the study of processing apatite ores with nitric acid and extraction of the rare earth elements. The rare earth elements can be successfully separated and recovered by extraction from the nitrate- phosphate solution, being an tributyl phosphate as extraction agent. The developed scheme of the processing apatite concentrate provides obtaining rare earth concentrates with high qualitative characteristics
