Fault- and Yield-Aware On-Chip Memory Design and Management
Ever decreasing device size causes more frequent hard faults, which becomes a serious burden to processor design and yield management. This problem is particularly pronounced in the on-chip memory which consumes up to 70% of a processor' s total chip area. Traditional circuit-level techniques, such as redundancy and error correction code, become less effective in error-prevalent environments because of their large area overhead. In this work, we suggest an architectural solution to building reliable on-chip memory in the future processor environment. Our approaches have two parts, a design framework and architectural techniques for on-chip memory structures. Our design framework provides important architectural evaluation metrics such as yield, area, and performance based on low level defects and process variations parameters. Processor architects can quickly evaluate their designs' characteristics in terms of yield, area, and performance. With the framework, we develop architectural yield enhancement solutions for on-chip memory structures including L1 cache, L2 cache and directory memory. Our proposed solutions greatly improve yield with negligible area and performance overhead. Furthermore, we develop a decoupled yield model of compute cores and L2 caches in CMPs, which show that there will be many more L2 caches than compute cores in a chip. We propose efficient utilization techniques for excess caches. Evaluation results show that excess caches significantly improve overall performance of CMPs
Korean Pre-service Teachers\u27 Perception of Parent-Teacher Partnership: The Effects of Motivation and Teaching Beliefs
This chapter examined early childhood pre-service teachers’ perceptions of the parent-teacher partnership, especially for the interaction effect between motivation and teaching beliefs on the parent-teacher partnership among Korean early childhood pre-service teachers. The participants for this study included 265 pre-service teachers in two different types of childhood teacher education programs (early childhood education and elementary education) in Seoul, Kyunggi, and Busan in Korea. The results from t-tests and ANOVA showed that pre-service teachers’ perceptions of the parent-teacher partnership were differentiated by student status in the teacher education program with discrete differences depending on subfactors. Constructivist teaching beliefs were the most significant variable to predict the pre-service teachers’ perceptions of the parent-teacher partnership. Even though there were no statistically meaningful interaction effects between intrinsic motivation and constructivist teaching beliefs, two-way interaction plots implied interaction effects between these two predictors. Based on the results, we discussed the implications of the results in regard to curriculum development and educational policy for future endeavors to enhance teacher education quality and educational effectiveness

The costume of ritual dance in Mongolian and Korean Buddhism
This paper investigates the diversity of costumes of Buddhist ritual dance in Mongolian and Korean Buddhism. Both the Mongolian Tsam dance and the Korean Nabi dance have developed to reflect the regional characteristics of costumes and symbolic systems and are closely related as far as the ideas of rebirth and afterlife are concerned. Both the Mongolian and the Korean dance, performed by monks, display common features that symbolise the spiritual role of the monks in guiding people on their way from birth to death. The symbolism of the ritual dance costume is related to the traditional culture, in both Mongolia and Korea, but Mongolian Tsam uses more shamanistic and decorative elements based on the ceremony of shamanism, while Korean Nabi dance shows an exceptional beauty in its self-restraint
Radiomics in Lung Cancer from Basic to Advanced: Current Status and Future Directions
Copyright © 2020 The Korean Society of Radiology.Ideally, radiomics features and radiomics signatures can be used as imaging biomarkers for diagnosis, staging, prognosis, and prediction of tumor response. Thus, the number of published radiomics studies is increasing exponentially, leading to a myriad of new radiomics-based evidence for lung cancer. Consequently, it is challenging for radiologists to keep up with the development of radiomics features and their clinical applications. In this article, we review the basics to advanced radiomics in lung cancer to guide young researchers who are eager to start exploring radiomics investigations. In addition, we also include technical issues of radiomics, because knowledge of the technical aspects of radiomics supports a well-informed interpretation of the use of radiomics in lung cancer11Nsciescopuskc
