Explore the relationship between Transformational Leadership, Social Interaction and Knowledge Management among Banking Sector of Pakistan
The intention of current empirical research is to explore the relationship between transformational leadership, social interaction and knowledge management among banking sector of Pakistan. The said sector is selected as population of the research. With the help of simple random sampling, different branches of public banks and private banks are selected as a sample. 270 questionnaires were circulated to top level and middle level managers. 230 questionnaires were filled by employee and used for analysis. The overall response rate was 85%. Different statistical methods i.e. Reliability analysis, Pearson’s correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis are applied on collected data. The results of Person’s correlation analysis shows that there is positive relationship between transformational leadership, social interaction, knowledge management and its dimensions i.e. knowledge sharing and knowledge application. Moreover, regression analysis’s results explains that social interaction is strong predictor of knowledge management as compare to transformational leadership. From the managerial viewpoint, the results give rational direction to banking sector of Pakistan to understand the significance of knowledge and its management as well
Deterministic scheduling for energy efficient and reliable communication in heterogeneous sensing environments in industrial wireless sensor networks
The present-day industries incorporate many applications, and complex processes, hence, a large number of sensors with dissimilar process deadlines and sensor update frequencies will be in place. This paper presents a scheduling algorithm, which takes into account the varying deadlines of the sensors connected to the cluster-head, and formulates a static schedule for Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) based communication. The scheme uses IEEE802.15.4e superframe as a baseline and proposes a new superframe structure. For evaluation purposes the update frequencies of different industrial processes are considered. The scheduling algorithm is evaluated under varying network loads by increasing the number of nodes affiliated to a cluster-head. The static schedule generated by the scheduling algorithm offers reduced energy consumption, improved reliability, efficient network load management and improved information to control bits ratio
Finding Temporally Consistent Occlusion Boundaries in Videos using Geometric Context
We present an algorithm for finding temporally consistent occlusion
boundaries in videos to support segmentation of dynamic scenes. We learn
occlusion boundaries in a pairwise Markov random field (MRF) framework. We
first estimate the probability of an spatio-temporal edge being an occlusion
boundary by using appearance, flow, and geometric features. Next, we enforce
occlusion boundary continuity in a MRF model by learning pairwise occlusion
probabilities using a random forest. Then, we temporally smooth boundaries to
remove temporal inconsistencies in occlusion boundary estimation. Our proposed
framework provides an efficient approach for finding temporally consistent
occlusion boundaries in video by utilizing causality, redundancy in videos, and
semantic layout of the scene. We have developed a dataset with fully annotated
ground-truth occlusion boundaries of over 30 videos ($5000 frames). This
dataset is used to evaluate temporal occlusion boundaries and provides a much
needed baseline for future studies. We perform experiments to demonstrate the
role of scene layout, and temporal information for occlusion reasoning in
dynamic scenes.Comment: Applications of Computer Vision (WACV), 2015 IEEE Winter Conference

The Role of Work Engagement in Relationship between Transformational Leadership and Job Performance in Banking Sector of Lahore (Pakistan)
This study investigates an underlying mechanism that clarifies the connection between transformational leadership and job performance. Specifically, it explores the mediating role of work engagement in a relationship between transformational leadership and job performance. Banking sector of Lahore (Pakistan) has been considered as target population. Different bank's branches were selected randomly for conducting the research. Overall 200 questionnaires were distributed. 170 questionnaires were used for analysis. The results of Correlation analysis show positive relationship between transformational leadership, work engagement and job performance. Moreover work engagement partially mediates the link between transformational leadership and job performance. Due to a shortage of budget, the sample of the paper is kept low, and only a few banks were taken into account, and the numbers of the questionnaire were limited. The target population of the study is only banking sector and all other sectors like textile sector, the education sector, and telecommunication sector remain to be unexplored. This study provides information for banking sector of Lahore (Pakistan) managers about why and under what circumstances employees perform the ways they do in the view of discussed variables
The Nexus of Foreign Direct Investment, Economic Growth and Environment in Pakistan
This paper estimate the impact of sectoral FDI on economic
growth and carbon dioxide emissions in Pakistan. To this end, it uses
time series secondary data from 1972 to 2011 and applies Auto Regressive
Distributed Lag (ARDL) models. The results showed that FDI inflows in
manufacturing, transport, storage and communication sectors and energy
consumption have positive effect on the GDP growth of Pakistan. Besides,
FDI inflow in manufacturing, transport, storage and communication sector
and population density are responsible for the CO2 emissions in
Pakistan. The results also validate Environmental Kuznet Curves in both
long and short run. JEL Classification: E2, O4, Q5 Keywords: Sectoral

Optimizing trust prediction in digital business ecosystem
The process of predicting the future trust value of an entity, based on its past value is a challenging issue. The prediction process is even more imperative in the scenario where in the interaction would take place at a future point in time. Being able to determine the confidence value of the predicted trust value is of prime importance to enable optimized trust prediction. In this paper we propose a set of metrics for determining the confidence level in the predicted trust value
SPINDLE CELL CARCINOMA OF LARYNX- A DISTINCT CLINICOPATHOLOGICAL AND HISTOLOGICAL ENTITY
Spindle cell carcinoma (SpCC) is a variant of squamous cell carcinoma with biphasic components and more aggressive behaviour. Its rarity and histopathological pattern pose a diagnostic challenge. Early diagnosis and treatment result in a decrease in local and distant metastasis. Case 1 is a 71-year-old female presented with hoarseness of voice and dyspnoea for 2 years without any risk factors. Fibre-optic laryngoscopy (FOL) revealed smooth polyp hanging from anterior two-third of the left vocal cord. Microlaryngoscopic excision revealed SpCC followed by post-operative radiotherapy and is currentlyalive. Case 2 is a 72-year-old male presented with worsening stridor for 2 years post-excision of laryngeal nodule and history of smoking and hookah use for >20 years. He developed dysphonia after a few months with fixed hard level 3 nodes at the right side. FOL showed a polypoid mass extending from the left vocal cord into the supraglottis. Fine-needle aspiration cytology of the neck swelling confirmed the diagnosis of SpCC. Computerised tomography (CT) chest/abdomen showed distant metastasis. Palliative radiotherapy was given, but the patient died after 3 months due to locoregional failure. Case 3 is a 35-year-old male presented with a history of hoarseness for 3 years with no risk factors. FOL showed a 1.2-cm polypoid growth on the right vocal cord. Total laryngectomy was performed and histopathology showed SpCC. Radiotherapy was given and the patient is alive without disease with regular follow-ups. Smoking and alcohol are thought to be the contributing factors causing this disease. Biphasic nature of the tumour requires pathological sampling for diagnostic confirmation. Surgery combined with radiotherapy has a better survival outcome. SpCC is a rare tumour with a tendency for locoregionalrecurrence. Surgery should remain the mainstay of treatment followed by post-operative radiotherapy for a better control.Key words: Larynx, radiotherapy, spindle cell carcinom
A robust framework for ensuring data confidentiality and security in modern healthcare networks
The potential implementation of extensive data sharing in dispersed network systems is likely to give rise to concerns surrounding privacy, secrecy, and authentication inside the realm of cyberspace. The main objective of this work is to safeguard the privacy and confidentiality of data inside an unsecured environment during the exchange of audiovisual content between two Internet of Things (IoT) nodes. To effectively counteract an adversary and guarantee the confidentiality of data, we suggest the implementation of a resilient multi-level security strategy that relies on the principles of information hiding and chaos theory. While certain block-based resilient data concealing strategies based on the transform domain have demonstrated favorable outcomes, their suboptimal block and coefficient selection processes lead to inadequate performance against prevalent cyber-attacks. Therefore, we propose a Robust Framework for Ensuring Data Confidentiality and Security in EHR-based networks using federated-learning with homomorphic-encryption. A differential-privacy technique is used here to increase privacy, which entails adding noise to the aggregated model update. The suggested model outperforms the most recent techniques for data security and secrecy in networks based on electronic health records
In-vitro comparison of micro-leakage between nanocomposite and microhybrid composite In class v cavities treated with The self-etch technique
Abstract BACKGROUND:
When a light cure composite resin is used to restore a class V lesion, certain stresses are generated at the tooth-restoration interface. If these stresses exceed the bond strength of the restorative material, microscopic gaps are formed which eventually cause micro-leakage at the tooth-restoration interface. The objective of the present study was to compare the micro-leakage values at the tooth-restoration interface using dye penetration method between a Nano filled and a Micro hybrid light cured composite resin in class V cavities using the self-etch technique. METHODS:
Sixty class V cavities were made coronal to the cemento-enamel junction in the extracted premolars. These were then randomly divided into two study groups. Group A: Self-etch; filled with P-60 (microhybrid) n=30. Group B: Self-etch; filled with Z-350 (nano-filled) n=30. Specimens were subjected to thermo-cycling at 5-55 °C±2 °C with a 30 seconds dwell time. After which they were stained with 2% methylene blue. Later, sectioned bucco-lingually and examined using a stereo microscope (magnification X4) at the occlusal, axial and gingival surfaces. Micro-leakage around the toothrestoration interface was assessed by using the degree of dye penetration in millimetres. RESULTS:
There was 100% micro leakage seen at both the occlusal and gingival surfaces when using the P-60 composite. With the Z-350 composite 84% occlusal and 88% of the gingival surfaces exhibited microleakage.. CONCLUSIONS:
With respect to micro-leakage in class V cavities, Z-350 was found to be a superior restorative material compared to P-60 on the occlusal surface. Overall, there is no statistically significant difference in the micro-leakage exhibited by the two restorative materials in class V preparations subjected to self-etch protoco
